Leatha, that's why you are at this great point in your life! You deserve to be happy and healthy!
-
So far, only my husband knows. I also had my gall bladder removed, so I have an easy out. I may tell others later, I haven't decided yet. I just don't want to be under a microscope. If someone notices that I've lost weight, I just say, "Yeah, I'm trying." One bandster said she's on a "doctor's supervised diet." I loved that one!

Who did your surgery? Good luck on your banding!
-
Leatha, you brought tears to my eyes! I'm sending you a cyberhug. You have us and we care about you! You are truly a living, breathing miracle! You had so much to overcome and you did it! Wow! Your story makes me appreciate the second chance at being healthier even more than I already did. God bless you and keep you safely in the palm of his hand.

Can you post a new picture?

I know where Idabell is. Small world after all, hmm? Hey, Teresa, you are really moving' on! Congratulations on the weight loss!
-
What a cute couple! Congratulations! I know you feel wonderful.
-
That's wonderful news! Now, back to the banding journey!
-
Oh, and get an actual name to send it to. (Like the office mgr.)
-
Darcy, did your surgeon EVER call you back? Get an e-mail address from them. That's how I contact my dr. Seems to be a quick response. Best of luck!
-
Trish, nice to meet you! It sounds like you're doing wonderful! I had my first fill yesterday. He put in 1.3, but I had him pull it back to 1.0. I'd like to avoid being too tight, vomiting, etc., and the problems that go along w/that.

Michelle, what does your average day's food consist of? Do you weigh, measure your food? If exercise, what type and how often do you try to do? Thanks!
-
Wow! 60 is the new 43! We are just kids!
-
Wow, Teresa, you've had a "full plate". Sorry, I know not the best analogy. But, seriously, I hope everyone will be o.k. What part of Okla. are they from? Take care,
-
Zoe, best of luck to you! You might want to look up some of the old posts where Mexican-banded patients listed the dos and don'ts of going out of the country for surgery. They also list things to bring. I think you'll be so pleasantly surprised in the upturn your health will take after some weight loss. Your RXs will decrease and you'll feel so much better. (Not counting the $$ you'll save on RXs and the side effects.) Your energy and self-esteem will increase. Like "Martha" would say, "It's a good thing."

My kids still think I'm older than dirt. But I saw a glimmer of respect from my younger son when we were out bike riding yesterday. The healthier me gave him a run for his money.
-
Ryan, you'll still be your same sweet self, just in a smaller exterior. I was wondering if that's how you pronounced your dr. name. Congratulations on being one step closer to being a healthier you!
-
Teresa, you're such a sweetheart! I hope your "room mate" doesn't get too comfortable there. He has no furniture and brings a two year old over. Wow! Guests are o.k. in small doses. But hopefully he won't take advantage of your generosity.
-
Darcy, that would be too simple! And a few doctors might be left out of the loop. But, seriously, hope you are able to get some rest tonight and the pain eases up. Please don't neglect finding out what's going on. You don't want to end up in the E.R. on a busy Friday night and your surgeon will be gone for the weekend.

Could this be my gallbladder?
New Hope replied to jenniferh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Are you still on liquids? If you're eating, are you lying down soon afterwards? This could be causing reflux of the esophagus. You might try having someone elevate your headboard on blocks (or cut boards). Sleeping on stacked pillows doesn't help, just bends your esophagus. Good luck! -
Celebrating two daughters birthdays! We can't hold that against you! You had a little slip, now you're back on track. Good luck on finding a support group. (This forum is my support group.)

Don't get the alcohol in your new incisions! Ouch!

Neicy, You Go Girl!!!

Darcy, if it is gastritis, stress is making it worse. Hope you're getting some straight answers about now. P. S. You have to be able to eat eventually.

Hey, haven't you heard, "50 is the new 40"! We're at the cool age now! Heaven knows we've earned it!
