after being physically active with sports and roller bladding with my kids until my early forties, my joints have worn out! i have servere arthritis in both my feet, both knees and the onset of it in my right hip. I decided since I couldn't exercise with out pain and didn't want to become immobile, that wls was something I needed to do. I chose Lapband because to me it was the least invasive, no cutting and no re-routing. My starting weight was 253 in Feb, 2012, I saw dr. Krause in August 2012, My surgery was November 29th, 2012 - my weight going in was 236lbs. My first fill was Jan16th 2013 with 2 cc's added to the 1cc that was in at surgery -- my weight here was 231lbs. I still do not feel much restriction at all, am not having any adverse side effects from eating wrong foods. Luckily I have not had any vomiting either. My next fill is Feb 20th 2013 so I hope this will give me more restriction and I start losing weight. I have not been able to start up exercising yet as when I try walking for any duration, my hip, knees and feet hurt. I have a dvd for chair exercises, however, we got a new tv and the old dvd player does not hook up to it so I have to purchase a newer version inorder to start chair exercise tape. :(
