As anyone used bcbs for insurance to cover your surgery? Is so, how long did it take for you to get your approval?
-
Hello right now I have no idea if my insurance is going to accept my appeal cuz they excluded all obesity related surgeries out of my plan. The doctor I called and asked how much it would cost said it was $30,000 I have no idea if that is what they charge insurance or if that's self pay. So I'm kinda shopping around to see where different prices are and where you had them done. If you could help me I would appreciate it. Thanks!!! :-)

Ok question how was everyone on their 1st night home? Where my port is is so sore. Is this normal also, did you have a slight temperature when you came home?

My husband is doing the same thing. He knows that I would want to eat it so for the most part he has been cooking for my kids and him. And if I start dinner I'll tell him I have to get out of the kitchen and he takes over :-). I have a great husband

AHHHHH I always remember stuff after the fact......... Also, I've noticed that everyone's preop diet can be different. It all depends on your surgeon. But some diets on here can have green veggies while like mine and more can only have shakes with some others. Only follow what your surgeon tells you to do. That way you don't mess your self up. I truly hope this helps.

Sorry I started this reply in my other post. It all depends on your insurance as to what's required of you. The preop diet is what is prescribed to you from your medical team esp from your surgeon. You have to do the preop because they want the liver to shrink because it sits right on top of your stomach so less is better bc they have to move it out of the way. I hope this helps

Sorry I actually had to lol my brother taught my 3yr old son suck it up buttercup lol. But anyhow yes it is insane. I haven't had the number 2 issue yet thank God, but I know it's coming soon. And my husband told me the same thing. I am on unjury shakes 5x a day. With a 1/2 scoop Protein in it. I can have sf Jello and sf Popsicles and I totally had the jello yesterday. My preop diet is what is prescribed from the surgeon before my surgery

Don't worry I completely understand. I started my preop on Wednesday. And my surgeon told me that I could feel like I'm going to be sick and be light headed for a few days. And they are right but they said it should pass

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone lost weight on their pre-op diet and if so how much?
-
Wow, is all I can say to start this post. I don't know how to convey what's running through my head. When i started my journey in early 2013 I couldn't continue due to insurance purposes. It felt like all was lost :-( but!!!! In late 2013 hubby's work switched insurances and wls is covered. I believe my whole world changed at that point. Going through the struggle of being over weight and depressed has taken a toll but on July 29th I am going to have my surgery. I can't wait!!!! It's been a long journey to get to this point but I'm happy where I'm at today. I want to say thank you to everyone on here for all the support. And those of you that have similar situations to Mine I wanna say hang in there!!!!!

Hey everyone I was wondering if when ur surgeon placed you on your pre op diet if you struggled in the beginning. And if u had cravings for something how did u suffice it?
-
Thank you. Man. Right now my surgeon has me taking the sugary stuff out of my diet. Cookies ice cream cake pie. Ahhhhh I'm totally addicted not going to lie lol. I did go through and got rid of things and now I'm realizing omw how did I forget that lol. I'm trying to do good and Lord knows I'm failing terribly at this right now. But!!! The end has not come and I can get through this. Thank you everyone for your support and Advice i appreciate it

Hey y'all I'm super excited. Tomorrow I get to Go to my 1st appointment. It has been a long journey and process. I'm so excited to be able to start a new chapter in my life!! 2014 is going to be a better year than 2013.

Hey everyone. I started my lap band research back in January 2012. Wow it's been a whole year can't believe that. When I started I had issues with my husbands insurance not wanting to cover the band. I was told that I would have been able to appeal the insurance company and more than likely win the appeal. Well.... 2 weeks before my 1st appointment the drs office called me and said no matter how much appealing I would do the insurance wouldn't cover the cost. Omw. Talk about depression and being down. So.... I've picked my self up and went on and trying to save up money to pay for it out of pocket. Just recently my husbands company switched insurance companies and they cover the lap band. I'm so excited!!!! My consultation appointment is jan. 9. I give God all the praise and glory because he has met a need in my life. And He knew what I needed. I'm so thankful. If you are having issues hang in there and hold out.

Hey y'all I was wondering what a general post op recovery time is.
-
I do have one from 2009-2010 it was when I was on Atkins and I only lost like 20 something Pounds and gained it all back plus a lot more ????. But I have been tracking on fitness pal for calories for the past month and that's from the drs to do. So I would only have 5 months to go. So maybe by my 24th bday I can have an approval ????
-
Hey everyone I haven't had my band yet but some people are saying slider foods. I was wondering which foods those are?
-
Yes I called the insurance company today and found out the great news. And then I called the dr to get the ball rolling. The insurance company gave me the details of what I needed to know and the qualifications for it. The only one I haven't done/kinda doing is the diet plan for 6 months . So......... Soon enough my time will be here. Patience is a game that I'm not good at but need to learn. Lol
