Doing ok today. Walking 50 minutes everyday at 1.7- 2.0 mph. On Christmas sil tried to talk me out of getting the band because she knows someone who's sister had surgery and has had one infection after another from it. She actually has ALWAYS tried to sabotage any weight loss efforts I have had in the past. She decided to give me ADVICE on what I should do about my weight. French, all in moderation. Blah, blah, blah. She also gives pointers to dh about how to quit smoking. It makes him SOOOO angry. No one asked her for advice. I wish she would just keep it to herself.

Christmas Eve. I've got a killer headache again. Funny, I get it right after I walk. I wonder if there is a coninsidence? TERRIBLE eating today!! For breakfast I had 2 Krispy Kremes and a Poorboy sandwich!! I'm really regreting it, though, cuz it made me nausous and I'm burping garlic to the max. Ick. Couldn't even think about lunch because I was so full from breakfast. I did my 50 minutes of walking, and went 2.0 mph today- much higher than the past week. I also did my streches for what it's worth. I didn't feel much of a strech on most of them i think cuz i'm so heavy. i MIGHT do strength training tonight if i can get rid of this headache. want to open presents soon, but i feel so lousy just not in the mood. i took a tylenol with codiene, but they didn't work last night. i hope it will work today. dean and jerry are both sick, too. i'm just worried about dean with his lungs. we increased his flovent to 3 puffs a day until he can get rid of the cough. i pray he gets better soon.

Well, here it is my first blog. Kinda weird feeling, but i've been wanting to do one for a while. i've been approved for surgery after a year long supervised diet. tried b4 to get it done in shaumburg, but insurance considered the surgery experimental at the time. so glad they reconsidered. i'm not at all scared. i'm very excited. i'm more scared about the 2 week liquid diet pre-op. did it b4, it's really hard. i've been doing 50 minutes a day of cardio for a week now. i had a really bad headache today, though :sick and didn't exercise. i did notice that my legs are looking shaplier, though. i'm starting to think about exercise 1st when i wake up instead of food. now THAT'S different.:clap2: still not doing well with the diet or strength training, though. have to start that soon.

Hey all!! I live in the Joliet area and am being banded on January 15th by Dr. Lahman in Joliet. I would be interested in getting together with others in the area!

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a year ago. It is very common to have headaches while adjusting to the CPAP. You feel lousy often after using the CPAP. Hang in there, though, it gets better if you can tough it out. Then you won't want to sleep without it!

The reason I ask is because I have a friend who had to undergo fertility treatments after having her appendix removed because it caused scar tissue to form. I just wanted to make sure that wan't an issue with the lapband.

I'm so glad that you posted this, because I also would like to become pregnant after loosing the weight I need to loose. I also womder if there is any scar tissue that could affect fertility? Anyone know?

Hey everyone! I'm lala and I recently went to an informational meeting with the surgeons at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, IL. I have sent in the paperwork and am waiting to hear back from the insurance company. I have a consultation scheduled for June 5th. I hope I clear all my tests so I can get the lapband soon! I have been researching WLS for over a year and have decided to take the plunge after a year of infertility. Wish me luck!

As I said, I'm new to this whole posting thing. Am I corrent in that you are down to 135 lbs? That is INCREDIBLE! Any tips?
