I have a very tight fill right now. It's 2.8 in a 4 cc band. I can only eat liquids until noon. I cannot eat any carbs or I pb. I LOOOOOVE it!!! The weight is coming off and I'm not stuffing my face with any junk.

WHAT FOODS GETS STUCK or give you problems?
lala replied to Raven5683's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm VERRRRY tight right now, but here's mine: ANYTHING before noon. Any meat unless it's in a soup. Pretty much any big carbs- bread, potato, rice, chips, etc. It works out great for me because those carbs were what put the most weight on me in the first place! -
Just tell me when and where and I'll be there. I'll carpool if ya want.

I'm not going to call you a liar. I'm not going to call you stupid. What I am going to say is that you do need to see a therapist. I understand the cost, but perhaps you might try to call your local health department- they have mental health services and they have it on what is called a sliding-scale basis (you pay according to what you earn; which for you is nothing since you aren't earning an income right now). There are crisis lines to call which you do not have to give your name and they will help you. You can find these by looking in the blue pages in your phone book. Are you medicated? Are you taking your medication as prescribed? Does the medication say not to drink alcohol with them? Please know that I am not judging you. You sound as if you are in a lot of pain and need help. Please go get the help you need. What gives me the right to say these things? I AM a therapist. Please take my advice.

Slim fast lo carb. 20 protein, I think 4 carb

I'm having this same problem right now. I can have only liquids in the am (which is fine because I drink a protein shake). Then I can only eat very soft things at lunch. Later I can eat harder protein, but not until after 6 pm or so. Chicken is very difficult for me unless it's after 6 pm.

That's awesome!! I can't WAIT for that! The first time I met you I thought that there was no way you could have ever been fat. You look fantastic!
-
BTDT!!! I'm also a January Bandster. I JUST feel like I got restriction last week. I had to stay away from the January Bandsters thread. It was just bringing me down because I did not have the weight loss others have. Just keep hanging in there. Once you get the proper fill the weight will come off.

Crap. I just realized that I will be at an Easter egg hunt. I'm going to have to sit this one out

Thanks Sonia! One more ?: Is this the kind premade in the bottle or is there a powdered kind that you can make yourself? It seems like the stuff you make yourself is much cheaper. Also, Amelia- when it rains it pours, huh? I'm sure some good news has GOT to come your way soon!!! I'm thinking about ya!
-
I'll be there (I think!). Sonia- could you look and see if there is a peanut or treenut warning on that Isopure? I was going to buys osme of the protein powder at GNC, but there was a peanut warning on it. Thanks!!

Hanging in there, Mandi. Lost 31 lbs. so far. I had one fill and am getting another in 2 weeks. Still no restriction, but I'll get there!

lala replied to sparkling's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading about babies of banded moms- it gives me hope for the future. I so much would like to have another child, but just couldn't get pregnant with all this weight on me. Did you have any complications? And you only gained 8 lbs?!?! That's FANTASTIC! -
AMELIA!!!!! OMG!!!! I will pray for you. Like Mandy, this deeply troubles me. I know that you are really looking forward to your vacation, but your health comes first. Please keep us updated. I have thought of you several times this week and were hoping that you were doing better.:phanvan

Attn: ladies who got pregnant after being banded
lala replied to cissy's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I had to have non-stress tests every week for a couple of months before I had my son. I had no "conditions" that would complicate the pregnancy, and it was BEFORE I was banded. And my son turned out great! I'm so glad that you are posting about your pregnancy, though. It's a HUGE factor in my reasoning as to get the band. -
My sleep doc said that he usually titrates the CPAP down one number for approx. every 20 pounds lost. So for example, I was titrated to 10 for the past 3 years. Once I lost 20 lbs. I was titrated to 9. I'm not really sure at which number you officially don't need the CPAP anymore. Anyone else know?
-
I'm in the same boat. I was loosing like crazy, but then now I can eat ANYTHING and as much of it as I want. I had a fill 2 weeks ago. It was good for about 3 days. I can now eat again like I did before the band. It is so disappointing.
-
Gained two pounds. Ick. Got on the treadmill, though, and did a 27 minute mile. For me, that's really good. I can't WAIT until I can do a 15-minute mile!

What are the final plans?

Is your port painful? What is hurting on my left side?
lala replied to bretta717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totally had that pain for a few weeks but then it went away. It took a while, though. Hang in there- it will get better!!
