    Any bandings in May????

Every pre/post op diet is different. I started purée foods 24 hours after surgery, so it isn't unheard of. Follow YOUR doctor's orders though, not mine or anyone else's!

    Switching Doctors Post Op??

Awesome!! I'm glad that it worked out for you! I agree, the staff and Dr Curry are great!

    Incision site pain

Oh yeah... I definitely know what you mean there... I put like 3-4 pillows and semi-propped myself up. Still wasn't comfortable but I couldn't lay flat, it felt like it was stretching the incisions and they would pop open Lol obviously they wouldn't, but they felt that way. I slept on my stomach first time about 5 days post-op, my side took a few more days. The side was the most uncomfortable at first. For my stomach I would SLOWLY get on all fours and place a pillow where my stomach was going to go and SLOWLY lower myself into the pillow. The pressure actually felt good for some reason. But it took me a while to build the courage to even try. But, it gets better I promise you that! Every day will start being better than the last!!!

    Incision site pain

I have five as well. Also I want to add that I'm two and a half weeks post op and have no discomfort at all from my incisions. I want to scratch them sometimes but that's it! Lol
  5. I'm very happy for you! We are all in the same battle. Congratulations and hope everything is smooth from here on out!
  6. That looks pretty bad. I see that you have made an appointment. Good luck, hopefully it's not as serious as it looks it may be...

    Advice on Dr Kuri

I don't know anything about this doc so I won't act like I do. BUT, my doc has performed over 5,000 lap-band surgeries and has never had a death.
  9. I get the low fat old El Paso, mix in cheese, sour cream, salsa (I like hot salsa, but obviously you can use any kind). It's delicious!
  10. I walked in the survivor lap of the Relay For Life today. I've been cancer free for 11 years now! The last time that I walked it was in 2011. I looked at some pictures and realized I was at my heaviest (395), now I'm at 323. The pictures show a huge difference. I was 369 when I called to make my consultation and 333 on day of surgery (5/6). So obviously i didn't lose all my weight with band but i was only 26 pounds lighter when i set up my consultation. I didn't even want to wear the survivor shirt at my heaviest because it was way too tight (biggest they had 3X). In fairness today was a 4X. But, it feels good to be 72 pounds lighter than my heaviest weight. I went from 395 to 315 dieting by myself but ended up at 369 and decided to have surgery and am now at 323. This time I'm not gaining it back!!
  11. Thanks ladies! I appreciate it!!

    rash near incisions

Mine aren't really peeling off yet, but two have the corners lifted off just a little bit. When is your check-up? I had mine and one of the incisions was a little pink and they asked me how long it had been that way, told me if there's were any changes to let them know. If there were then I could take a picture and email it. I wonder if maybe you should call your doc Monday and ask if they want to see you or even email pictures. It's probably nothing but I'd let them check it out. I do know that mine are healing because they itch like crazy!! It would almost be worth the pain to scratch them like crazy!! Lol not really
  13. Thanks everyone!! You guys (and gals ) are so supportive!! I have to say that I do kind if smile or even chuckle at the thought of ME being an inspiration. I appreciate that compliment and I sure hope that I can help other people in their journeys even though mine is still in the baby stage! Catwhisperer, Thanks! You are such a positive person, I know that you will be successful! You have really taken the time to research everything and I know you will be successful with your very new band! Mis73, Thank you for the compliments! I have to say that I definitely don't take any compliment that you give lightly! You have accomplished so much and your story is so inspirational! I look forward to reading your comments on posts and you are very committed to helping us newbies out along this journey to save our lives!! Drehn, thank you!! I love having people who share the same date as me! Heck I love having the same, week, month, but it's very cool to have a few friends with the exact day! Our journeys have already proved to be different but we will end up at the same place! Successful banders! Wendy, thank you! The more I look at it the crazier it seems to me too! It's funny how even though you see yourself in the mirror everyday you don't notice the changes. But, when you compare pictures side by side it's hard to deny the changes! Thanks again for your kind words! I do appreciate them!
  14. Thank you! God has done so much for me. I told my wife when we started getting serious that I was informed that due to the high levels of chemotherapy that I had that I would likely not be able to have children. Then, next thing you know she was pregnant with our son. God is great!! Thanks again for the nice compliments and supporting cancer survivors!
  15. Thanks! I appreciate it!!
  16. Kettering at Delco park. Sorry your daughter went through that, but glad she can be called a survivor!!

  18. Thanks! That's great! We had to leave early, usually I stay a little longer (never stayed all night). My niece has done it with her high school friends for several years now. They have three tents and all stay the night.
  19. I agree! My face def looks a lot different, looks longer and with a bigger forehead Lol.
  20. Thanks! Excited at my start of this journey and looking forward to losing more!
