Every surgeon has a different pre-op diet. Some have none, 2 week liquid, meal replacement, 3 day, 5 day, Lol. It literally depends on your surgeon. I will be on two weeks of medifast meal replacements. Good luck!!

Hi Everyone my name is Lisa :)

Using your iPad to reply to a topic you click on the arrow pointing to the right in the top right hand corner, then click reply to thread. Then all of your questions/answers will be on the same thread. I love the iPad/iPhone app (with a few small exceptions). I use the app at least 90% of the time. If you wish to view the full version but still use the iPad open lapbandtalk.com on safari and login. This will take you to the desktop version vs the mobile. Then you will be able to view people's profiles etc.. Good luck with your upcoming surgery!! -
Bruising after surgery
Creekwood replied to TaraKaye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon has told me that if I have any questions about incision site I can email him a picture. I love having his direct email! I bruise easily so I'm sure mine will look horrible. Good luck with your recovery! -
Wow, what a view!! Enjoy your vacation! I'm doing great, Easter was awesome! I ate a lot more than I should have, but it was delicious! Lol May is just right around the corner, it won't be long before surgery!!

Just voted for you. Good luck!!! -
you can go to my home > check in > edit previous entries and delete all your past weight / measurement entries so that you "start now" your food diary though there's no easy way to wipe that out... each meal each item line by line can be deleted.... (I'm not sure if this works, I copied/pasted from someone answering a similar question. Good luck!!)

Personal Pre-Op goals!
Creekwood replied to Creekwood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I have read about others who can't lose much weight before surgery. Unfortunately my BMI is above 50 so I have a lot to lose! Lol. Hang in there on the diet. You can do it!!! -
EricNorth25 here. Anyone can add me if they would like to. I'm pre-op so don't be shocked by my food!

Just scheduled my surgery for May 6th! My nutrition class is scheduled for April 15th. It finally is sinking in that this is really going to happen. I am FINALLY going to take control back over my life. I just want to be healthy. I want to be sitting in the crowd while my 5 year old son graduates college. I want to be a better example of living a healthy life for my son and my Godson. I don't want to die in my 40's or 50's of a heart attack. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at 26, sleep apnea at 27. Now I'm 28 and I have had enough problems due to my weight. It's time to prevent future problems and start the rest of my life! I WILL be successful at this. I suck at diets. They don't work. I need something more than a diet. I NEED this surgery and th lifestyle that it demands! I appreciate any advice and help that you guys offer me as I go through this journey to a healthier me!

It felt a lot better than i expected
Creekwood posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last night I was heading home from volunteering at my sons school/church. My wife and son wanted ice cream from Maggie Moo's (ice cream store where they mix in toppings (TONS) to choose from. I LOVE this place. So I picked them up and took them there. I knew that I couldn't get ice cream as I was already at 1900 calories for the day (I've been staying under 2k as my own pre-op diet, before my real pre-op diet). So I sat there watching them order their ice cream. (Cotton candy with Oreos mixed in and mint with chocolate chips and waffle cone mixed in). Then they ate their ice cream. My wife suggested that I ask for a sample of an ice cream since I had 100 calories left. That doesn't work for me. If I try a sample the next thing I know I'll have a large chocolate shake and a large cup of Peanut Butter fudge ice cream with Reese's pieces and Kit kats mixed in. So I drank my Water. But it felt good. I was in control not the food! -

Prejudice against fat people
Creekwood replied to firefaerie266's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a little off topic but a funny story about insensitive Doc's. so when I was 17 I spent 8 months in the hospital going through intense chemotherapy as I had been diagnosed with Leukemia. I had a team of 3 Oncologists that were caring for me. They did rounds one week each. There was one doctor, Dr. Dole who was this real little indian guy. I couldn't stand him. IF I had the appetite to eat I would sometimes eat bad foods. pizza, sandwiches, chicken wings etc.. Most of the time I had to be forced to eat. Well every time he came in my room he would make little smarta** remarks about my food, my weight, sugary drinks I was drinking etc.. "How do you expect to live a healthy life eating like this?" "Oh, Doritos, you need to get rid of those". One day I snapped on him (I was on a lot of medicine in a lot of pain and eventually my filter disappeared. "I'm not here to get skinny. I'm here because I have cancer. I don't give a damn if I'm fat. I only have a 30% chance to live for give years, I couldn't give two sh*** less if I'm Fay or not. Get out of my room. You aren't my doctor anymore. I refuse to deal with an a**hole like you" (something like that ) the expression on his face was awesome. I told my favorite oncologist of the three I only wanted to deal with him and ten years later he is the only one that has ever been a part of my treatment. Some doctors are a**holes. They have no idea what it's like to be fat, and are very insensitive to the issues that we face. (Sorry for the language) -
Personal Pre-Op goals!
Creekwood replied to Creekwood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weighed in at 351 today! 18 pounds so far! Now my surgery date is may 6th. I still hope to be at 345 in time for my pre-op diet. That's 6 pounds I need to lose in the next few weeks! I have logged in everyday to MFP. My biggest struggle is still being consistent at exercising. -

I'm confused. I don't eat Oreos, how in the hell am I fat?? Lol but seriously it sounds like a new doctor is the best thing that happened to you. That doctor is a quack. Sucks that it pushed your time back but I'm seriously happy that you aren't giving more money to this lady. -

Lol @ always be a tarheel fan. I don't really watch much college basketball, except my wife's alma mater University of Dayton (you've probably never even heard of them Lol). So I can root for the Tar Heels for you! I have learned a lot from this site and hope to continue to learn from others journeys. Thanks for the advice!
