Protein shakes and Greek yogurt are my most filling meals right now
-
I'm on purée foods right now and am blending what needs it. It's all in your good (as it was mine). The taste is the same, just different texture.

I'm feeling the best today that I have felt since surgery. I've been out driving around, right now I'm at the mall food court watching my wife and son eat my favorite Chinese restaurant It feels great to be out of the house walking around stores, driving to places. I'm having a great day! Thanks for asking!

I do agree that walking is better than any gas x that you can buy. But, the strips can't hurt either. But, don't substitute the strips for walking -
I prefer using my Ipad over mobile, instead of going the the app I go through safari. This lets you access the full site and not have to sit at a computer desk or hold a bulky laptop. But, everyone's different!

You could also check with your dietician/doctor. When I had similar problems she let me have 2 oz of fruit juice to give me a quick boost of carbs/sugar. I was only allowed to do this if I felt shaky or dizzy. Talk to your doc/nutritionist, hopefully they can assist you.

No problem. They must be on the desktop version, unless there's some way to do it that I'm unaware of Lol

Confession time...I'm ashamed

You are a very courageous person to put your story out there. You have been through a lot (understatement of the year!) and I hope that the doctor can help you overcome the problems that you are facing. If you are considering myfitnesspal I recommend it wholeheartedly! I use it every day and there are TONS of banded people on there to be friends with who will encourage you EVERY DAY!! I'm Ericnorth25 on there if you set one up I'd love to be your friend! There are threads on here full of people who would love to be your friend as well! Logging every fit item helps me to be accountable for what I eat because 1 I know everyone can see it, 2 if I don't log it I feel bad for lying to everyone. Good luck with whatever you choose! I'm rooting for you!!! -
I don't believe you can. If you can I've never figured it out lol
-
Great job! You earned that moment, enjoy it!!

You know it hurts when you know exactly how many times you have sneezed Lol I agree the recovery hasn't been as bad as I had anticipated. Feeling pretty good today! (Day 5)

Greek yogurt is great (doesn't need blended), meatballs with marinara sauce (you can even add ricotta or cottage cheese), refried beans with or w/out sour cream, salsa, black beans, Wendy's chili is delicious!, cauliflower with cheese and sour cream, tomato soup (doesn't need blended obviously), vegetable or noodle soup, there's tons more but these are some I have tried or are going to try here soon! I have 9 days left on purée foods. Good luck!!

***1 YEAR BANDIVERSARY***

Great job! I hope to one day do as well as you have! Thanks for sharing your story! -
Headaches can be from withdrawals of carbs (or even caffeine). I know for me it took 4/5 days to get over the carb withdrawals. My dietician said that "carbs are our crack, your body reacts when you don't get them" Lol. I thought it was funny at the time, but it's true I did deal weak/tired with the occasional headache. It gets better though! I promise!

Thursday is the Day, anyone else!
Creekwood replied to spwlfd035's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck with your recovery! Today is day 5 post-op for me, EVERY day gets better and better!! My advice is walk walk walk and sip sip sip water. Hope everything goes well! -
I can top the KFC. My Hubby and Kids had T-bone and I had Beef broth! I feel the love in my house! I might lock them out of the house for a while after that!! Lol

I'm only on day 5 post-op, but I agree completely with the feeling of being able to eat whatever I want. I feel that I can, but I'd be terrified to try it. I'm sticking to my 1/2 cup portions of purée food every 2-3 hours, even though I know I could physically eat plenty more (heck sometimes my stomach growls 20 minutes after a meal). My doctor told me that the first 4-6 weeks to focus on healing, if you lose great, if not there will be plenty of time to lose once you're completely healed. I'd just be honest and talk to your doctor and maybe ask his suggestions on what to do. Personally I'm too afraid to eat more than I'm allowed (even though I KNOW that I physically can), because its just not worth the risk of messing up the surgery. I'd have to go into the witness protection program if I had to tell my wife that I messed up and wasted that 13,000 dollars we just spent! Lol Good luck!! Be honest with your doc/dietician, they can help you!

I have slept in my bed every night except the first. If I had a recliner I definitely would have slept in that, but I don't. That's good that you got something for your back, I know it's been bothering you. I drove my son to school today and will be driving to pick him here in a couple hours. Yes, if I laugh too hard it does cause some pain, same with sneezing. I did that twice yesterday, it wasn't fun! Hoping this weekend is good for you!

Day 5 post op and I feel the best I've felt so far! I was able to sleep only stomach with no pain! It's tricky but can be done Lol. My incisions are looking very good. A little gas pain still (mainly when I eat), still not 100% energy wise but getting better every day! I feel like I'm in the home stretch healing wise and that feels good. I'm able to eat/drink with no problems. Well minus the occasional shoulder/gas pain, but it's not overpowering. I'm very happy with my recovery so far and can honestly say that it hasn't been as bad as I had anticipated! Good luck everyone!! Btw sorry that I have posted updates throughout several May threads, it's hard for me to keep track of! Lol

I was allowed puréed foods the day after surgery! Lol I thought it was very fast and didn't actually have any until day 3 (1/2 cup 1 meal). He told me if I didn't feel ready to just stay on liquids, but make sure to stay hydrated! So you aren't alone, some docs move through food stages much faster.
