Now I'm freaking out reading about all these denials..unfair to deny us after we're literally working out asses off!!!! Ugh..

I'm all gung ho for my sleeve during the day. I'm doing the diet like I should, exercising, and committing. But at night if I wake up around 3am, I wake up scared and confused..I know this is a lifestyle change, but it's permanent. Am I ready for it? To give up everything I've known for 29 years? I want the end result, but I don't wanna be miserable and not able to eat for the rest of my life..any thoughts?

I have BCBS and just said I had to be an informed patient, 18 or older. Didn't read anything about co morbities..

I have my first one on one nutrion meeting on Thursday, well probably change stuf up then

On the meal plan to lose 15 lbs before my surgery, and feel like I'm doing something wrong. I do my protein for bfast, yogurt and fruits as snack, turkey sandwich at lunch and I figure out somethig for dinner. But I'm going to bed hungry and waking up at like 3 am hungry. I wanna stick to it but I'm dying to chew. Any suggestions other than yogurt? Like a cup of dry cereal or just SOMETHING..hate feeling hungry at night

Well my surgery isn't going to be until February atleast, this is my diet to lose weight beforehand

I sit down most of the day, I'm a receptionist..I was planning on 2 weeks so sounds good!

Just curious..what's the recovery time afterwards? Like what's the soonest people have gone back to work? My friend had bypass and was ok after 1 1/2 weeks..

I know it's silly but I really have to vent. Just seems like two and a half months is so long to wait and my time will never come, something will mess up the process, or I won't be able to lose the weight, or something like that..so many other things have failed for me I'm just feeling like this will be another..

Atleast yours is scheduled!! I'm just worried I won't lose the weight, or they won't approve me, or something..I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel but I wish I had a definite YES!

Haha hearing all these denials is gettig me nervous now, I thought my process was going to easily!! I'd been referred by my prior PCP for a couple years to go to the bariatric center for weight management and I was finally ready this past October. Got into a program, and I have all my labwork, meeting with surgeon, and cardiologist to clear me for surgery, which they said was the final step. Told me my insurance requires me to lose 5 percent of my body weight before surgery, so I'm workig on that now, and had me sign a paper that said insurance requires me to be in the program for 3 months, which would mean in January I'd be eligible as long as I meet all my requirements..I'm worried now tho!!

Hey everyone..I'm 29 and should be getting the surgery in about 3 months but have some concerns. I work as a receptionist and a client of mine who was 400 lbs is 2 months post op and has maybe only lost 20ish pounds.. This Is the surgery I was mainly considering and now I have concerns.. I just want to do it right and finally be happy and healthy..

I'm in the process now and nothing was mentioned about being over 35..

Definitely chime in I'm nervous and need all the help I can get!! Lol

Aww that's amazing I'm so happy for you!! Yeah I actually looked at a chocolate Easter bunny I still have and I actualy had a panic attack and was sobbing..food has been there for me consistently for so long that to give it up scared me to death. But I see what my 'friend' has done to me and I'm ready to change

No I hear ya..I just am trying to eat well for the first time in a long time and I just want so badly for this to work for me..it's nice to have people to talk to cos my friends are happy for me but don't understand!

Lol.. My concern was I know a 400 lb man that only lost 20 pounds in two months and overall just doesn't seem to be doing well. I want everythig to work and I want to be successful in losing weight but wanted some reassurance that the sleeve has in fact worked for some people
