I had gastric bypass surgery about 7 yrs ago..I lost most of my weight and went from being a size 20/22 to a size 7/8 in one yr. about yr 4 or so I started gaining weight back bc i wasnt exercising, eating right or watching my drinking while eating so ive gained about 70 pounds. Ive been researching a revision surgery for like 3 yrs now. I went through the process approx 9 mth to a yr. On Jan 7th 2013, I was finally having my lapband over bypass surgery... I am now 5 days post op and today am not feeling much restriction...the first day i was out of it, 2nd day, plenty of gas pains but was able to drink fluids and shakes, 3rd day I drunk and held down soups great. 4th day I went back to work still drinking liquids.. Ive been anxious to see how much restriction I have so I grilled a piece of tilipia.... I ate one whole small piece without any problems. I know my surgeon said just liquids till he tells me different but bc ive had a band put over a stomach that was already small..i just wanted to see what type of restriction i really have.. its definitely nt when i had the gastric..i couldnt even think of solid foods so soon...I never got to speak to my surgeon after surgery but my family sd he did tell them he filled my band..to what extent i dont know... when I drank or eat I know my stomach is different bc i feel a lil pain at the top of my pouch...am gonna continue on this journey and get back on my liquids and abide by the rules. I started at 263 and today and 250, so yes ive lost some and proud of it...its up to be to do it right ths time bc theres no other chance...
