Denied by Premera Blue Cross, could use some advise regarding financing/ self-pay
buckeyegirl4 replied to light_lady's topic in Insurance & Financing
I was told that I was "underweight" as well. I gained 10 pounds. I have an appt with my surgeon on the 19th. With the weight gain I am hoping I will be approved with no issues. Self pay is not an option for me. -
I am shooting for the same - actually 170 would be good for me too. I just hope my insurance don't give me a hard time. I have Aetna. I feel like my body can't handle another pound! I am maxed out!

Thanks all for the wonderful words of encouragement! I am ready to start this new chapter of my life. I LOVE THIS SITE!!! -
You look amazing! I just can't wait to feel the same way...

I have adult Attention Deficit and have recently started taking Aderall. It's only 1/2 pill at this time but I also take Fish Oil and vitamin D. I am on pace to get banded in April. Do all pills get stuck? If no liquid alternative, how do you take your OTHER pills???
-
Thanks! I never thought about this until now.

True Results - Houston
buckeyegirl4 replied to dhales's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What is "True Results"? Do they have them in other cities? I have a hiatal hernia and take meds daily. I would love to get that taken care of AND my band ASAP! I live in Cleveland... -
Please post after band details for those of us that are still "bandless but hopeful". Good luck!
-
I am curious as to why some stay overnight and some don't. Does it depend on your BMI or if you have a hiatal hernia repaired?

Overnight stay?

I understand completely! I cannot stomach thick consistent drinks either. I must find something else before I get banded. -

I am a wimp! I need to mentally prepare myself for this. Your post was so real! On a scale of 1-10 what was your pain levels. Dehydration caused your thrush? Did you have difficulty drinking? -
GREAT QUESTION!!! I am wondering the same thing! I wonder if u can feel the port or even see it. Most of my weight is not in my stomach, do that is the 1st place I will lose it. The visual is haunting me :-(

South Beach Meal Bars...
buckeyegirl4 replied to buckeyegirl4's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess no one eats these... -

I've noticed that many are posting that they had their hiatal hernias repaired at the time of their banding. Is there a theme here? Does that increase the cost of the procedure? I was told last year that I have one too. I would imagine that "when" I get banded, mine will be repaired at that time. Just curious
-
Do you think there is some irony there? Or is there some correlation between obesity and hiatal hernias? I was told mine was stress related. I am not so sure after reading that it is so common here.

officially on the bandwagon...
