  1. I'm confused...people say you should eat about 1 cup of food per meal, but if its solid food like steak or something how can it be measured in cup form. Maybe it's a stupid question but I really want to stick to the correct portion size. I'm calorie counting in my fitness pal but I still don't want to stretch my pouch by eating 9kg of zucchini (slight exaggeration). Anyone?
  2. Thx for the advice. I have scales and will def start measuring.

How do you add people? It asks me if I want to add people via Facebook, email or contacts. How do I add using a username?

  6. I went to see the surgeon and explained I haven't lost weight for nearly 2 weeks. I'm 3 weeks post op. He said I'm not eating enough and my body is in starvation mode. What the hell am I supposed to eat? I've been eating mainly mushed vegetables with either ricotta or cottage cheese. I eat an egg in the morning but on my best day I'm only getting to about 500 calories. I don't get it, I'm eating 4-5 times a day but its just that I can't eat a lot at one sitting. Has anyone else gone through the same thing? Any tips?
  7. I'm trying not to get discouraged but its hard when you think you should be seeing results but seeing as a few of you went through the same thing it's obvious I'm not eating enough and as soon as I can I should start seeing some movement on the scale.
  8. Thx guys for the replies. It helps to know there is an end in sight. Hopefully when I start solids and I can up my calories ill start losing.
  9. I just made an appointment to see a nutritionist hopefully they can get me up to about 1200 calories too. I'm just disillusioned, I thought less calories equals weight loss but obviously my body has different plans
  10. I'm on first week of mushy food got a week to go then onto solids. I'm only eating between 350-500 calories a day. It's just unbelievable how you can go from eating anything you want to perhaps eating an fifth of what you used to and still not lose.
  11. I will have to try it again maybe with something moister than cottage cheese. I only took small spoonful also but found if I chewed it too much I sucked all the liquid out and was left with dry tuna. Not game to try it for awhile but will definitely attempt it again in a week or two when I'm onto solids
  12. I was also given permission to start mushy food and thought I'd try tuna and cottage cheese...it was actually really hard to swallow. I think tuna is too dry, maybe I jumped the gun a bit and should of stuck to mash vegetables.
  13. Saw the surgeon today and have graduated to mushy food. Might sound weird but the last 3 weeks all I thought about eating was cauliflower lol. So guess what my first meal was....yep steamed cauliflower, garlic, lemon juice and salt and pepper put through a food processor does anyone have and creative mushy recipes. I want to keep it diverse.
  14. Wow! Congratulations! You look great! Even though you say you have more to go, you look great. Way to go!!
  15. I'm 11 days post op and up until now my wounds have been pretty good, not very painful and seemingly healing well. Then just today the largest incision started hurting and I felt it and its really hard and tender. It doesn't look infected ( no pus) but its all red around and hurts more than when I actually got it. Is this normal or should I go to the doctor?
  16. Thx everyone for the advice. I'm due to see my surgeon tomorrow but I'm off to my doctor today. Sounds like I may need antibiotics, so the sooner I get it checked the better. Thx again!
  17. Yeah I'll have to. It was looking really good a couple of days ago don't know what caused it
  18. Yeah it's redder and also the redness is wider. I only thought to touch it coz its painful I've been rubbing disinfectant and putting fresh dressings everyday. Don't see how it could be an infection.
  19. Maybe I'm overreacting a bit but I understand that I may not lose everyday but at the very least I don't want to gain. Yesterday was first day back at work...I'm still on my 2 weeks post op liquid diet and consumed my normal calories. That is 1 1/2 shakes and a soup for dinner. The weight gain may have been coz I went like 6-8 hours between meals because my job doesn't allow for me to eat when I want. Maybe my body went into starvation mode and thought "better hang on to these calories, she's starving us". Thoughts anyone?
  20. I got banded on the 10/1/13 and I'm extremely bloated. I know that they fill you with gas during the surgery so I was just wondering how long it takes for the bloating to go down?
  21. I didn't cheat either. It was so hard sometimes to stay on course but if I had an extreme craving I did the dishes, went shopping just kept myself occupied. Cravings pass....I'm currently at the start of week 2 post op liquids and though I've wanted to cheat on a few occassions I stick with it! New life, new habits!
  22. Sorry to hear your not feeling well. Try to drink Water and keep hydrated! It will pass! Congrats on your weight loss though!
