Sciatica pain right hip and leg
hockeymumzie replied to copmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its not fun. I'm on my way to get another epidural here soon, and the deep muscle tissue does help but the weight I'm carrying isn't doing me any good. -

Had that pain when my l4 was fully blown, ended up having disc replacement, bone grafts, and three fusions. I still have some pain and weakness. -
How can i tell if I'm dumping?
hockeymumzie replied to simon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No one has ever experienced the dumping symptoms before surgery? Or am ia odd duck. -
I'm just starting my journey, called my insurance and they could not find that i needed to have a six month supervised diet. But with anthem you never know what they will pull out of their pocket. If just saying if i get approved by the end if march do i go with it and do it then, because we are going to Mexico June 11 and don't know if i should attempt to travel like that so soon. Or would you wait until you get back to have the life changing procedure? Jessie

waiting to be prepped
hockeymumzie replied to Debbiebydesign's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry about the delay been there with my back surgery. -
It's amazing to see what everyone classifies a clear and full liquid, soft diets and what you would eat for a puree. After working in a hospital for 12 years with special diets for every type of patient, nursing home and dementia residents. I tend to take a double look at what is posted and go wow. But if that is what the nut says to have then you have the clearance. Jessie

hockeymumzie replied to AmandaD's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A hour is nothing, i have to travel almost 4 for my appointments and 6.5 fur my apnea doctor. But in the end it's all worth it. -
I was told meeting with surgeon, dietitian, ect. Mine will last six hours. They let me bypass the informative session since i know what i want done and plus I'm traveling almost four hours to get there.

The shedding has started....not the lbs, but the HAIR...
hockeymumzie replied to L Belle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love wen products and macadamia nut oil four the hair. I tend to loose it when my thyroid is off, so down the road i shouldn't freak out to much if and when i loose more. -
Nervous is a understatement my day of consultations is Feb 18. But it brings me some comfort reading all the posts and know I'm not alone on this journey.

hockeymumzie replied to ranee17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking any pain killers right now? Some people get the itches when they are leaving your system. -
Women and Hormones...
hockeymumzie replied to sleevemeup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After i had my ovaries out my Ph changed and for months all types of deodorants burned my pits. In the future when i have my bypass i hope i don't have to go through that again. -
Had mine in 2003, I'm one of the percentile it did not work on. I was a two Weeker, clots and all. Ended up partial in 05 and ovaries in 08. I have friends who had it and it worked. Do good luck to you all.

Do any of you who have sleep apnea suffer from Aerophagia? How is it with the Rny? I suffer from it all the time generally and was curious how it effects the pouch.

I've had Nine surgeries so far and my last two my O2 levels were in the low 80's, all the anesthesiologists i know treat each case the same. You just never know what's going to happen.

Hi I'm a newbie just starting the process. Made the call today and will meet with the surgeon, dietitian, ect Feb 18. I have Anthem bcbs out of Colorado and sometimes they are a pain in the butt. My surgeon will be Brandon Helbling at Mid Dakota Clinic in Bismarck, Nd. I already have butterflies and have a long road ahead of me.

I've been on a bi pap since Oct 09. Always have been a tummy sleeper, but it's not possible with my mask. Now thanks to back surgery I can only sleep on my side and back.
