So I went in for my EGD yesterday and there was no hernia. I am 32 BMI and would be self pay. i was hoping to get the band if 1/2 would be paid due to the hernia. No hernia equal paying the full 10k. So now after thinking it all through I can't see paying the 10k for 50lbs to loose. Part of me feels that would be selfish to my family. I've been doing the pre op diet and lost 10lbs in 7days so I'm hoping I can just stick to it. That's never been my problem though, I always manage to gain it back plus some. I guess I'm just a little bummed about it all right now but I'm going try and keep my willpower going. Good luck to you all!

I went to make my first shake this morning and read you could mix it with black coffee... It said not hotter than 140 degrees (powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury shakes) and I thought surely the coffee don't get that hot. Ha ha Clumps galore.. I tried to drink it anyways but started gagging at my desk. So I walked down to the closest store and all they had were Special K protien shakes (10 grams of protien and 190 cals) what a difference. Oh we'll hopfully lunch will be better... It's the chicken broth flavor. I will be using cold Water for this one! Lessons learned

Im right there with you. Ive tried so many things and Im actiually an active person but have had a really hard time loosing this weight. I was to the point of just accepting Id always be overweight untill reading up on the lap band. To me I feel hopeful again. I get banded 1/31/13 how about you?
