LOL Lisa all I can say is that I am so glad you are getting this taken care of. I had spoke to Dr. Kuri's assistant before my surgery and I knew it was either him or Lopez. I have seen lots of good things about Kuri, I am sure he will take very good care of you. Again I get to read all of these post just before going to bed. I can't believe all of this. I have been checking my incisions like crazy, I was banded 2 weeks later by Dr. Lopez. Mine look and feel fine, healed faster than any other surgery I have had. The super glue worked great for me. You are now going to see Dr. Kuri? What happened with Lopez? Did I miss something in the post? And you are going Thursday? I am going to have to check these boards from work, I am getting way behind in them. Infections and rejections oh my gosh!! I wrote Ann Marie a very nice informative letter. I told her of the problems that you were having and the talk that is going on. I told her that if she had any way of getting ahold of Dr. Lopez that she should. I think he needs to know what is going on with you. We shall see if you or I get a reply, I also told her to check out the post here so she could see for herself. I truly hope something gets done about this. It is so not right. Hey girl, Just catching up on the post. So the vet worked, yipee. I am glad they got that yuck outta you. Still no response from Dr. Lopez's office? I am going to write to Ann Marie and let her know about this. That is so not right. I still don't have a email about my records that I requested from Dr. Carmen either. I will let Ann Marie know about that too. I think if Dr. Lopez knew all of this he would be really upset. Someone has got to reach him and maybe Ann Marie can. What is the deal with the seeds? Before surgery the nutrisionist said not to eat any seeds. Were any of you told this and do you know why? I wanted to make a strawberry smoothie with real strawberries. Do I have to strain the seeds out. I love fresh strawberries, will I never be able to eat them again? Thanks Donali, my husband was there when the nutrionist said this and so he is being my policeman and saying no to anything with seeds. I had not heard this from anyone else and I figured this was best place to go for answers. The nutrionist said something about them settling to the bottom and could plug you up. Hubby is just trying to be helpful, doesn't want me to get plugged up. But darn I want my strawberries. Glad to hear they went down ok for you. Have a great day!!! Thanks Kathy:cool: :cool:

I am back and feeling pretty darn good. We flew home a couple days early skipped the coast for now. I wanted to be at home to heal. So far so good. I hope to skip all that yucky gas stuff everyone is talking about. I have already passed alot of it. I just keep burping and moving hoping to get it all out. Maybe my bumpy ride on the shuttle from the airport helped loosen it up. Did anyone not experience the gas problem? Well hubby says I need to rest been up all morning. Just had to read some post and write to my dear friends my great support system. I don't think I would have done it without all of you. Thanks I will post some pictures later. Ok it has been 10 days since my surgery. Saturday and Sunday I noticed I was running a slight fever. Not very high but still a fever. Has anyone had this problem? I know I should go to the doctor but I am sure since it is holiday there is no way they are in. The fever is real low so I am not real concerned, but something must be going on. I feel pretty good during the day but at night it seems to come back. Anyone out there have a slight fever following surgery? Any advise? Kathy Dr. Lopez May 21, 2004

Thanks so much ALex my hubby was getting real concerned. I called my primary care Doc. but they are not in. The advise nurse pretty much said the same thing you did. I knew that I could come here for good advise. I will keep a eye on it. But for now I don't think I have enough syptoms to be real concerned. Like I said during the day I feel pretty good. A little gas pains here and there. But everything looks good, my incisions are healing good. I am drinking my Protein and my Water. Cream Soups are going down good too. Ok it has been 8 days since my surgery and I have many questions. I am hoping some of you out there can help. #1. I have to take my hormone which is a pill, very tiny pill about the size of a baby aspirin. Do I have to crush it forever? And what about Tylenol can we take it? Do we have to crush it? #2. Water, how do you get all the water we are supose to drink in one day in when we can't drink 30 to 40 min before and after eating? And then I seen a post that said not to drink or eat 3 hours before you lay down. Ok is any one else not finding enough hours in the day for all of these rules? Any suggestions? #3. Food, I am now on week 2 creamy foods. I had oatmeal this morning. I only had a few bites and I felt a very thick feeling in my chest area. What does this mean? I thought I was full. Is this posible? I am new too and I have never heard that, you can't eat or drink 3 hours before you lay down? Why is that? Pretty hard to get all the fluids in the day already, if I did that it would even be more difficult. Please explain???? Thanks Kathy Dr. Lopez May 21, 2004

I should have asked this before my surgery, but didn't. So now I am. What if for some reason you had to have the band removed? Would Insurance cover it? Anyone ever have this problem?
