    Top Secret!

Lord I am dieing laughing over here; everyone at work is looking at me funny! Bless it!! I have never been able to shop at Victoria Secrets; so that is on my list after the surgery. I only shop at Lane Bryant. Ready to get to some cute undewear; I have a few but these at VS are making me want new ones! Thanks!!

    ____ years old and never...

I'm 29 (30 in May). I have always pushed people away; because I didn't love myself. I love me down deep inside, but not my outside self. I have been married and divorced twice. Both were really bad relationships; but being overweight I was not happy being alone. I am currently single and happy to be getting out and finally remembering that I can love myself. This weight loss surgery is a tool to help me love myself more. I have always wanted to ride a mechincal bull, wear a full two piece swimsuit; go four wheeler riding in a tank top; wear shorts that were not bought in the plus section. I want to wear those cute cloths everyone else wears. I want to be noticed as a girl; not just another one of the guys. I want to wear high cowgirl boots; without have to scrunch them down cause my calves are too fat. I want to go out in the boat on the weekends. I want to get out and play baseball with my son; go fishing; and my number on goal is to go deep sea fishing and take pictures and look damn good in them!
  3. Also as weird as this sounds; actually doing something you don't normally do on a daily basics works too. Like last night I went line dancing for the first time in 3 weeks instead of walking and I feel great this morning; well minus all the sleeping muscles I woke up! ... I don't have half the pain I normally do. I think routine changes while on the liquid diet are key; but this is just my opinion!

    fast food.

Wow I thought I was the only one! I just spit my gum out too!! I am good from 7am to 3:45pm but after that I am straving or so I think. I even drove to a fast food place yesterday sat in line and ordered, but got out of line. My good little angel told me NO! lol I have been on liquids only since 13 March because I was not losing enough weight before surgery. My pre-op is not until 03 April. If I make it it will be a miracle. I can honestly say I am horrible as soon as I get home. Even though their is not food in the house; there are so many fast food places around my house; five minute drive. I think I need to increase my Water intake. My liquid diet is only a Protein shake, 6oz yogurt, Protein Shake, 6oz broth, protein shake, and 4oz Jello. I have to admit that I am losing weight, just not at the rate that everyone else is. This is really hard for me. This really does help having a site to know that I am not the only one going thru the same thing. I did go line dancing last night after I had my protein shake and was not hungry. I was even to go get food for the security guard and it didn't even bother me or make me want to order anything from the drive thru. I am taking baby steps and hoping everything goes good. Good luck everyone!
  5. I am in the same boat with you. I have learned that those little heating Patches work really good. I have had abnormal pain in my sides. My doctor informed me that as my liver is shrinking during pre-op that you will experience some strange pains. Good luck with everything! PS: Heat Theraphy Patches - .97 cent at Wal-Mart
  6. I finally decided to write a little about myself. I am a very private person. The only person that know that I am doing the sleeve is my mom, dad, brother, grandma, and my best friend. Of course my boss and a co-worker now, because of all the doctor's appointments and diet changes. I am a 29 year old single mom to a wonderful 7 year old son. I love anything outdoors, but I have been overweight my whole life. I have always felt like I was missing out on things. I never really had a click in high school, because I was overweight. I don't really have many friends, because I don't like going out, because I don't feel comfortable in most of my cloths. I decided it was time for a change. I went to my first seminar in January. I decided on the lap band, but the more I read the more I changed my mind. I finally decided to go with the sleeve. I was 265 lbs on my first doctor's appointment in January. I am down to 253 as of March. I was put on a protein shake, yogurt diet, and a very light dinner. This was a MAJOR change for me. I am a fast food junkie. Well I WAS a fast food junkie. When I show my VSG doctor in January he told me I had to loose 25lbs before the surgery. I thought I was doing good, but my pre-op is 04 April and I still have almost 15lbs to go. So I called the doctor's office and they put me on a 920 calorie diet. Which consist of a protein shake for breakfast, 6oz yogurt for morning snack, protein shake for lunch, 6oz chicken/beef broth for afternoon snack and protein shake for dinner, and a sugar free jello for evening snack. Even though the scales are showing 10lbs I feel like I have lost more. I normally wear a snug size 20, but I recently went to Torrid and bought a size 16 in shorts. They are a little loose, but that is because they have elastic. I am so neverous about everything. I feel like I have days when I want to quit and give up. I wish I had a personal cheering team. My mom has been great, but she doesn't understand why I am not loosing weight. I hate exercising, but I really want to try. Walking is not my thing, so I bought a treadmill. I love line dancing, but they only offer classes on Tuesday and Wednesday and I have to be at work at 7am. Can someone give me some advice, and tell me what really helps! I am getting really worried that I will be denied surgery, because I have not lost the weight yet.

New Kid Trying To Get On Track

mwrarr: I just want to shop; I guess it like mini rewards to me; instead of food; I buy cloths! I'm not a big fan on shopping; so maybe it will reside after awhile and I will find something better to do! Unless then as I take out old cloths I will add new ones Good luck!!

    Abnormal Pain - Pre-Op

Kinda a weird question; don't know if it is gas or something else. I started my liquid diet on 03/12/13; I have been having major pain in my left and right sides feels like it is under my rib change. Did anyone else have this problem? Does anything help? I was told a heating pad, but I work full time, so I can only use a heating pad at home. Please let me know if anyone has had this problem. I also read that is my be my liver shrinking. I don't have a gallbladder so I know it is not that. I also had a full hysterectomy about 3 years ago, I am wondering if something may be shrinking and pulling tissue. Thanks!
  9. Thanks JonB I was wondering that too! I have Cigna. I also have done the 3 months with my PCM; have my physch appointment. I have my last doctor's appointmnet on 03 April to find out when the surgery will be and the next step. I am already on the liquid diet; so I am hoping everything goes as planned. :) Thanks!

    Abnormal Pain - Pre-Op

I was telling a lady in my office about it; the only person that really knows about my surgery; and she is an older lady. She gave me a heat patch; I have one on each side and I am completely amazed at how much it has eased off; so I am thinking that it is gas; cause I have read how much a heating pad helps. They are a little expensive; I paid 7.49 at CVS for 3 but well worth the money. She said she paid a $1.00 at Wal-Mart for hers. The good thing is they last 8 hours! Might want to try them capeciw!

    Preop Diet...

I was put on the liquid diet on 03/11/13 and I can offically say the first week was horrible. I have my pre-op appointment on 03 April with the doctor to find out when my surgery is. I wasn't losing the weight I should have been losing so they put me on the liquids. It has been pretty rough, weekends are horrible, but during work I am ok. You can do it I promise! I just keep thinking what I will look like after the surgery!! Good luck!

    Un-supportive friends/family?

I am 29 and been overweight my entire life. I am in my pre-op stage. My mom is the one that has been with me step by step during the process; she is not a very good coach, but she is trying to be supportive. Like this weekend I bought new shorts, in a size 16 (normally wear 20), she didn't say congradulations that you can wear those, instead she fussed because I bought new shorts. She doesn't understand that I really am more emotional drained then anything. I am a very private person, but I am trying to open up. On the other hand I told my grandparent's on my dad's side who have always been there for me, and they freaked out on me. So I don't mention it when I around them. They have watched me struggle with my weight, and I thought they would be excited. They have stated "you can do this yourself, you don't need surgery, you can try harder". I am not worried about my friends. I only have a few close friends and only 2 of them now, only cause one of them is my mom's friend and she told her about the surgery, and I was talking to her about it and the other is my friend who is thinking about the surgery. I am worried about the "after" surgery, because I am scared that I may lose the few close friends I have. But in the same aspect this will show me who my real friends are. The people who are my friends will be there for me because I am changing my outside not my inside. I wish you the best of luck.

    Lost More Than The Weight

I have the same problem! I am in my pre-op stages; and I have lost 10lbs in 3 months; according to the scales, but I was wearing a size 20 in jeans, dress pants, and shorts. I have such a wide range of cloths in my closet that some sizes don't fit, but I can try on the same size in a different brand and they fit. Going thru my closet completely makes me want to have a full melt down. I can only imagine after I have the surgery and my cloths don't fit. I also hate shopping, but I made myself go to Torrid this weekend and buy shorts. Telling the girl I needed a size 20. I tried those on and they were to big, I tried on an 18, to big, and I tried on a 16, comfortable yet big, then I tried on a 14, way to small. I went with a 16 and bought 3 pairs. To me it is an emotional roller coaster when it comes to cloths. I work for a government contractor and we have to wear business attire, so I end up wearing the same thing every other day. I just change the top. It is crazy. I have been going to Goodwill, but like I said I hate shopping, I think we must retrain ourselves. I wish you the best of luck! Remember Goodwill and Salvation Army and even consignment shops are good places. Of course, I love wal-mart!

    Bra size

That is my biggest fear and I know that sounds really childish, but I am so worried about that. I was a 36B by whole life, until 7 years ago when I had my son; I am a 40DD, I am so worried that after surgery my cup size will shrink! I was talking with my mom the other day about a boob job after surgery. Has anyone gotten a boob job after surgery?

New Kid Trying To Get On Track

Thank you so much for the encouraging words! That is why I joined this site; people on here have been there and understand how I am feeling. One of the older ladies I work with is like my second mom. She has been very supportive. She always listens to how I am feeling and she tries to encourage me and check on me on the weekends. It is nice to see the people are here to support you. I just am a very private person and writing that was my biggest step. I do have a strange question! Did you want to buy new cloths when you started slowly watching weight drop. I have been horrible, because the scales are not moving, but my cloths are getting looser, so it makes me want to buy new cloths. I HATE shopping, but when I went to Torrid on Friday and found that I was in a size 16 short and not a size 20; I bought 3 pairs of shorts, but I look at it as though this is my reward. I don't buy fast food, I drink Protein, and chicken broth, and yogurt, so this could be my bad habit. I just need some advice on this. I know these are just questiosn running thru my head.

I am also very neverous; but the more I read on here I am slowly starting to be ok. I have my pre-op on 3 April. Then I will find my surgery date. I actually had to go on the liquid diet already because I am not losing the weight he wants me to before the surgery.
