October 2012 Bandsters
emigirl replied to NYTeacher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on October 12, 2012 and have lost 35 pounds so far. I have only had 2 band fills with a total of 3cc in my band. My mother was banded several years ago. While I haven't experienced any hair loss. She did, but her hair is growing back thicker now than ever. She takes Bariatrics vitamins and biotin. I'm glad to have found all you fellow October 2012 bandsters! -
I'm from South Georgia. Dr Bagnato banded me in Macon on October 12, 2012. I have lost 35 pounds so far. I feel so much better, and can't wait to see how much more I can lose by summer.

When is this "tool" going to show up?

They say you won't really feel it until your band is halfway filled. I personally feel mine already and I am just at 3cc. I actually had 4cc and had to get some taken out as I couldn't swallow fluids without vomiting. The doctor said some stomachs are more sensitive than others. Maybe next fill you will feel a difference. What size band do you have? -
I got my band on October 12, 2012. I have 3cc in my band. I was having the same issues as you. I was able to eat junk food, but found it difficult to eat salads and I love salads. I spoke with my doctor about this on my second fill this week. I was told I am eating too fast and not chewing well. It was true. I find cutting the salad really well helps. Also take smaller bites helps. Don't give up just yet. It's a learning experience. It will get better in time once you figure it all out!

Thanks I went and got some taken out today. I was severely dehydrated to the point I lost 10 pounds from Monday to today. Feeling back to myself now though. I appreciate the advice

I just got my second fill yesterday. I keep sliming every thirty minutes to an hour. Can't keep anything down. I been taking chewable aspirin hoping it will reduce the swelling in my stomach. Anyone ever experienced anything like this? Any suggestions?
