Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
CandiceNC replied to raynie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi Ladies, Well I am at week 31 with my second band baby! And we have found out that it is a girl!! I will now have one of each! YAY!! I know that way back in the beginning of this forum I told you all about my story, but will do a quick update. With my first pregnancy, I got a complete de-fill by week 4 as I was also getting married at the same time. BIG MISTAKE! I gained 20 lbs in 2 weeks! I got my fill back but by then it was too late.. the gaining was on. I gained a total of 50 lbs with my son, who was born by emergency c-section. I ended up with pnemonia as was sick with flu to pnemonia the last month of my pregnancy. I was induced 5 times and after being a week overdue and in hospital for 3 weeks already, ended up with an emergency c-section. My son's heartbeat was irratic then quit all together for about 10 seconds, thankfully it came back. I was rushed to OR at 5 am and had him by 5:42 AM.. healthy as can be. (the cord was wrapped around his neck with both hands under it which is why his heart stopped with every contraction, he was pulling the cord off his neck) Now pregnant with my second, I had my gallbladder removed shortly before getting pregnant, and still had severe pain in my stomach, and went for an ERCP turned out my bile duct was closed shut, but I was already pregnant by then. I have had nausia with this pregnancy, and severe constipation to the point of tearing my self even on meds. I was put on sick leave in August due to this issue. At anyrate, for some reason I am starting to get the acid pain again in my stomach. I believe my band has kept it from coming back up but it always hits me between 4 and 7 am and I have to sit up completely for 15 mins or so for it to dissipate. I am at the point now where its hard to breathe as well. This baby is very high! I have not touched my band at all this pregnancy other than to add a bit more in the beginning as I didnt want to gain another 50 lbs. I still hadnt lost all of the weight I gained with my son. I was thrilled to go in each time and was losing weight, although my doctor wasnt happy about it, however the baby is doing just fine. I had my doc appt this week, (now every 2 weeks I see my doc) and in total I have gained 6 lbs and I am 31 weeks! That to me is sooo exciting, I am not near as huge as I was with my son, but I attribute that to it being a girl, totally totally different pregnancy! I look like I have a basketball under my breasts! LOL My port does not protrude either, I know its there, but no one can see it. With my son you could tell even by looking at me from the back I was pregnant this time not so much! I did have a big boy born 8 lbs 13 oz, although they u/s tech figured he would be closer to 10 lbs!! This baby is in the normal range not the large range! YAY! I am scheduled to have another c-section on December 9th. I am so excited. I can not have a regular v-birth due to the tearing in my bum and the complications from my sons birth, dissapointing, but at the same time, I know WHEN she is coming! And thankfully before x-mas! I do know that just before my c-section I do plan to get a small de-fill. After my son was born, with all the pressure and pushing they did around my port area and the band area, I had quite a bit of swelling, and wasnt able to eat or drink for over 12 hours afterwards. So this time I am going in a bit more prepared. Ok I have babbled enough! LOL sorry! Hope you are all doing great in your pregnancies! Candice son Cameron ( 20 months) -
Unexpected Side-Effect -- GALL STONES!!
CandiceNC replied to ThinknHealthy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
After suffering for 3 or 4 years with what I thought was stomach pain, not gall bladder pain, as it wasnt on my side either, I finally had the scope done, and ultrasound to find gall stones. I had my gall bladder removed earlier this year but the pain still kept coming. I was sick inside wondering what the heck the problem could be, so the doctor sent me for an ERCP. (basically another scope but they remove stones from the bile ducts if there are some still caught. Turns out I didn t have stones, my bile duct was sealed shut somehow, I dont remember exactly how they said, as I just came out of the loopy meds as "unforgettable" mentioned. However, I have been pain free for months now and I am sooo happy! I was drinking a bottle of Malox a week, thinking it was an ulcer. No more Malox or anything else for me and I am finally losing weight again. Well I was except I am also 6 months pregnant, so I lost 15 lbs the first half, and have only gained 4 lbs so far! YAY (gained 50 with my first child even with the band, but didnt get a defill this time) Candice -

Congrats Crystal. Everyone is different, but I have had cramps all along in this pregnancy and with my son too. As long as there is no bleeding you should be ok. I however have been spotting this week, I am almost 11 weeks along, had an emergency ultrasound to check on the baby and according to two different doctors, spotting can be normal, and my baby is fine. The heartbeat is great they said and everything else looks good. So I just have to take it easy and pray that I dont have more than a little spotting. It is very scary for me, so I have been pretty paniky about it. I have heard lots of women spot and go on to have normal healthy babies so my fingers are crossed. Cherea, I am so sorry to hear about your experience, but I too am very happy to hear all is well now with you and your baby! So glad you are near your band doctor and were able to take care of things as needed! Colleen Congratulations on your pregnancy! This is my second baby with my lapband, and so far I have had zero complications with my lapband and being pregnant. With my first baby, I got a defill immediatly, but I gained so much weight so fast that I was filled again, and did well. This time around I kept my fill and actually got a bit more put in and am doing just fine in the weight department. I am sure all will go well for you too! Of course always contact your surgeon and verify if you have any questions or concerns at any time! Candice -

I too had gained alot of weight with my first child a year + ago.. now i am on baby # 2, I have a loose fill as well and have been eating like a mac truck! I am going for a fill on thursday.. (hopefully my doc will let me!) As long as I am eating healthy, and not vomiting, I think I should be able to get a fill. I too have been eating things I shouldn't be.. bread, pizza, pasta.. its been horrible.. I am only 7.5 weeks along with this pregnancy, and have a 15 month old, but I sure dont want to gain 50 lbs again.. I still had 10 lbs to lose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight and here I am again. So we must stick together.. and do our best to help each other stay strong and eat the right foods.. even if we pig out on veggies.. like sweet potato fries or something (home made in the oven) I have been horrible lately myself, so maybe if we can all help each other.. then we might be able to stay strong together! I am due december 18th, but will like have another c-section beginning of december. I will know more thursday at my first pre-natal doctor appt. Candice -

Hey Everyone! Congratulations to all the pregnant ladies! If you have read back to the beggining of the thread.. I was here pregant in 2007, my first child was born in Feb of 2008.. and I just found out yesterday.. (home test) that I am pregnant again! YIPEEE I was banded on March 6, 2006, starting at 305 lbs. I lost 113 lbs in one year then found out I was pregnant.. I got a complete defill.. and what a mistake for me that was.. gained 20 lbs in a month! So I got a small fill and gained a total of 50 lbs with my son. I still havent lost all of it.. as I have had gallbladder issues.. and still am having. I had my gallbladder out in Feb, but still have stones stuck in the bile ducts.. so am supposed to be getting that fixed in 3 days.. but.. now I dunno.. I am scared! I have attacks anywhere from 3 to 5 times a day/night. I hope that the ERCP wont hurt the baby.. or be post poned.. I am guessing the pregnancy has doubled the problem as this past 3 weeks has been worse than ever! At anyrate, I am so thrilled to be pregnant again.. my son is 14.5 months now and we are really hoping for a baby sister for him! Congrats to everyone again! Candice -

HI Ladies, It has been a while again since I posted. My son is 3 months old now (today).. wow has it been a journey. He has been very colic, and also a very urgent eater. Unfortunatly he would not latch on for anything, as he just wasnt getting enough fast enough. So I pump, and he gets it through bottle, but even on medications, I still don't produce enough milk, so he gets both formula and breast milk. I can say I was so not expecting how severe the lack of sleep really was/is. I was so tired, and cranky.. and having a colic screaming baby was very trying to deal with! However, he is much better now, he sleeps at night now, waking usually around 3 am and 6 am to eat, sometimes he doesnt wake till 4 or 5 .. I love those nights!! I too have never felt so much love, even when he is screaming and the neighbours think I am pinching him..lol he is sooo loud! Even my doctor was surprised at how loud and how piercing his cry is. He is a healthy baby however, he has almost doubled in weight! He was 8 13, now he is 14lbs 2 oz at 3 months old. He is also now 24.5 inches he was born at 20.5! He is a big boy!! I see other babies born before him or around the same time and they still look like babies, my son looks like a 9 month old! He refuses to do anything but stand when we are holding him.. he hates to sit! Jodie Congrats on your daughter! Glad it all worked out, even though the doctor didnt make it on time! Congrats to all the other new moms to be! Baby calls! bfn ladies! -
Breastfeeding Bandsters Unite!
CandiceNC replied to Hippiemama's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi Ladies, I am a fairly new first time mom. My son is 3 months on the 4th! I have had a very hard time with breastfeeding. First off he will NOT latch on for anything he is too urgent and will not work for his food. Second, I do not produce enough milk no matter how much I pump, and I am even on meds to help lactate, and I barely pump two oz at both breasts. I am still doing my best to give him at least one bottle of breastmilk a day.. better than nothing I say. Btw I was banded March 6, 2006, starting weight was 305, went down to 193 then found out I was pregnant. I gained 57 lbs with pregnancy, lost 32 so far, but am really struggling, been stuck at the same 4 lbs going up and down for the past 2 months! There are lots of mommies in the pregnant and banded forum. Candice -

Congrats Nikki he is beautiful! Sounds like you had quite the ordeal afterwards.. take care of yourself! I cant believe 19 minutes.. wow.. my next baby will be like that.. haha cause it will likely be another c-section! Rayne, it's not fat girl, its baby... just remember that!! hehe that is what i tell myself still, haha.. the weight is slowly coming off for me again. I forgot how to eat as a bandster so i have pb'ed alot lately, not fun!! If it wasnt for breast feeding (pumping, since he refuses to latch on) I would start the post op liqiud phase again to jump start my weightloss. I am sure everyone is out there... and more birth announcements coming I presume! Sleep has been my number 1 thing aside from my son of course, so maybe that is what all the others are doing too! lol I swear I just cant catch up! I think wow I got 2 hours the nite before last nite, and last nite got total of 6, thought i would feel pretty good, and I guess i did but was so busy today I am totally drained. Thankfully hubby home tonite snd day off tomorrow.. so I might get a good nites worth!! ya right!! lol Anyways, I am off to bed, again Congrats to you Nikki, and hopefully there will be more bouncing baby news soon!! hey ladies! It has been a few weeks since i posted. My son is going to be 8 weeks old on Monday. It has definatly been challenging. Being a first time mom, I was really not prepared for the lack of sleep. Cameron is Colic too which doesnt help. I also have had to suppliment with formula as my breast milk just isnt producing fast enough. He is a big piggie!! He is already close to 12 lbs.. I am getting him weighed again this week. I also went out and bought a VAN. I can't believe how much room you need to travel with a baby for 4 days! We went to Winnipeg for the Easter weekend to spend time with my husband's family, and my car was soo full, there wasnt room for anything! Cameron did do very well travelling for the mostpart. It is a four hour drive each way and he slept most of it, cept for feeding time! We made the trip twice this week cause i had to go back to pick up the van on thursday. What week! Anyways, hope you are all doing well, raine, be patient, only a couple more weeks!! Candice -

Hey ladies, Sorry I havent posted in a while.. Cameron keeps me so busy! I have also had a few issues, my incision was infected, now my uturas is infected.. grr.. I thought I was doing great.. till 3 days ago, I started to hurt again.. went to doc yesterday and yup Infected.. grr Anyways, other than that we are doing great! He is growing so fast! He is already 9 lbs 9 ozs my little piggie.. he even drank my boobs dry, so I had to get the meds to help me lactate more! He is definatly a growing boy! I hope Bex is doing well, cant wait to hear from her! oh and that nursary is darling! Ours still isnt done, but I do have all the stuff now to finish it off.. just to get the time and energy.. I am hoping this sunday when my husband is off work we will get it done! Well I think my boy is finally asleep, so I can get in the shower.. Hope you all are doing well, and I hope Bex is doing well! hey Ladies! Sorry to hear about all the rashes. I am fortunate I guess, never had that. My only issue was stomach acid, which went away around 3 months, but NOW its back! I think I might have an ulcer. Anyways, I finally stepped on the scales. I had gained 57 lbs last weigh in before I ended up in the hospital, and today I was down 32 lbs and it hasnt even been 2 weeks since his birth! I also dont have much of a fill right now either, which I go for in 2 more weeks. I am pretty happy! Rayne, my baby was the talk of the hospital! LOL I went out for lunch with my hubby last sunday and ran into some friends, and they had "heard about the baby born with cord and hands around the neck" Of course they didn t know it was my son, but yeah, I think he shocked many around here! I have to say being a first time mom is wonderfull, but very exhausting as well. We just had Cameron Circumsized yesterday ( what a horrible thing for a mom to watch!) Daddy was pretty insistant that is son "look" like him so we had it done. I think I cried more than he did! Just very happy that they use anethestic. It is so hard to change his diaper and see that swollen red penis like that. Breaks my heart! However, he doesnt even seem to notice. I am giving him some baby tylenol as per docs orders, but he didnt even need any last night, he slept so well! I did give him some today, he has been pretty unhappy today, so I have been giving him the meds so he would sleep. He has never been awake for more than an hour at a time and today he was up for almost 5! Then he only slept for an hour before he was awake and hungry. I think I finally have him sleeping in a "good" sleep now. Bex, your baby will come!! Let's hope not as LATE as I was! Maybe it will be a "leap year" baby and born on the 29th! Candice -

Thanks everyone! haha No I have been so swollen with fluids I didnt dare get on the scale yet. I dont want to be upset by the number! I am going to get a fill in about 3 weeks. I wanted to get this breast feeding thing down pat a bit more and adjust to being a mom before getting filled again. Cameron weighed in at 8 lbs 13 oz (smaller than we thought) and he was 20.5 inches long. Its funny but my cousin was exactly the same numbers when she was born. Cameron is feeding every two hours at the moment, so sleep is what I am lacking in a big way. He is pretty much asleep now, so guess what I am going to do! hehe nite nite all! -

HI ladies! Well I am finally a MOM! My baby BOY was born by emerg c-section on Monday Feb 4th at 5:42 AM. So here is the rundown..... The hosptial restarted the 3rd induction Saturday Feb 2nd.. Took 7 hours before contractions started, but not good enough. The second dose of meds was due by 2 am however no doctor to administer so I was put on "hold" untill 11 am Sunday morning.. by then all contractions had stopped again. So Restarting induction at 11 am Sunday. Contractions were mild, and still not dialating.. stuck at 2 cms for over a week now. Doctors were discussing a different med to use but in the mean time my baby's heart rate was really starting to fluctuate on the monitor. At 11 pm Sunday evening I was just about 3 cms and they decided to break my Water and attach an internal monitor on baby's head to measure heart rate more accurately. So now I am soaked, baby's heart rate is registering and we are on our way... Contractions kicked in big time, they were 20 seconds apart and extreamly strong since I wasnt 4 cms dialated yet they couldnt give me epidural, so I got some demerol, well it didnt help AT ALL! I was in so much pain and not much of a break inbetween contractions. By this time it is now 4 am and I am finally close enough to 4 cms to get epidural.. WOHOO love that thing! So Daddy went to sleep in my room (as I am in birthing room) grandma and grandpa went to the house to sleep, figuring that at only 4 cms we had LOTS Of time to sleep. I fell asleep too. 5 AM hits and I am woken up by 2 doctors, and all 3 nurses on staff to frantic shouts.. to roll on my side.. baby's heartbeat is GONE. I roll over, and doc figures maybe the internal monitor fell off, but when she went in, it was still attached.. however just then, his heart beat was back. Well by this point they had already decided we needed Emergency C-section, and called in the docs and staff needed, They woke John up, he was a little freaked out, to say the least. Grandma and Grandpa were called and within 10 mins I was already heading down to the OR. Once in the OR things happend fast. It is the weirdest feeling or lack of feeling I should say not to feel your toes or legs or anything below your boobs! Well Cameron was born at 5:42 AM he screamed the second he came out, and it turned out his cord was wrapped around his neck and both hands were wrapped around the cord squeezing to get it off, and that is why his heart rate would not register. He was born perfectly healthy!! And now I am finally a mommy to a beautiful baby boy named Cameron Robert Raymond Taylor. Cameron is John's Dad's name, Robert my dad and grandpa's name, and raymond is John's grandpa's name. NOW no one can be upset! So there you all have it. I was kept in hospital and released Thursday afternoon. My surgery went extreamly well, I am sore of course but feeling pretty good. Cameron is gaining weight, my milk is in and he is doing wonderfull. He feeds every 2 hours so I have been kept busy! Oh and I found out "we" can not eat onions!! So Ladies beware if you are breastfeeding, onions also cause serious GAS and pain! I am doing really well and we did have our first checkup at doctors this morning, and both of us have a clean bill of health! My incision is healing great except I have to keep an eye on the one corner of it. Other than that, I bounced back pretty well, the health nurse that comes to my home to check on mom and baby gave me heck, I was doing too much for just having major surgery! But all in all I am great! Cameron is a beautiful little boy that I just cant take my eyes off of. I will try to figure out how to post a picture of him. Ok so I can't figure it out.. shoot. Well If any of you are on Facebook, you can look up my name his picture is my profile picture... Candice Campbell Taylor -

Hey Ladies! Well I am STILL PREGNANT. 5 days overdue, the inductions did NOTHING for me. I go back to hospital tomorrow (saturday) but I doubt they are going to do anything with me until Monday when I am a week and a day overdue. This is so frustrating! I just want this baby out already! I can not sleep at all, and my stupid phone wont stop ringing. When I answer, they are like why didnt you call me when you had the baby.. .I am like I havent had the baby.. that is why I havent called! People are giving me "chit" and I am getting pretty tired of it! I keep saying over and over, when I have it we will call! So now I am getting pretty bitchy! I dont want to talk to anyone anymore because all I keep hearing is oh well do this or do that or why arnt they doing a c-section and what is wrong with the doctors.. There is nothing wrong, this is my first baby, it happens quite often that the first one is late, and my body just isnt ready! Have any of you ever had to deal with this in the past? I have to say I am so frustrated, and emotional, I am feeling like this is all a bad dream, and I will never have a baby in my arms, and that this is some cruel joke. I sit at home and cry (like I am now) because i am so frustrated. Thank goodness for my mom.. whom I just called and cried my eyes out over the phone too. My mom was 16 days late with me, I just cant imagine. I am in a class called healthy baby that is a local thing here, and there is a girl that is due on Feb 14th, who is going to have a scheduled c-section on Monday, and it looks like she will have her baby before me! UGHHHH sorry I am just venting... I think I am going to have some lunch, get in the shower, and go see my mom.. my grandma just doesnt have to know I went out on my own! (they wont let me drive or do anything so I feel like an invalid sometimes) Sorry ok, I will go for now.. just had to get this all out.. thanks for letting me share. Candice -

Hey ladies, Well, I am still pregnant! They induced me twice over the last 2 days, and I would not dialate. OMG the pain.. I had the supository first and I went into contractions at 2 am that didnt stop, or take a break inbetween contractions. I went like that till 6 am, and didnt get any pain meds still 4 am, and I wanted more by 5 am! LOL they said uh.. you can only get that much every 4 hours. At anyrate, they had removed the supository at 2:30 am and it took that long for the meds to wear off and my contractions to finally slow down. I am STILL only 2 cms. Then I went to my room for some sleep.. haha got a whole 20 mins in, when they came to get me for the IV induction. Well after 12 hours of that one and no dialation, and the contractions all but stopping while I was on the meds, they decided to take me off the meds, and let me get some sleep, this is now 8 pm last night. I hadn't been aloud to eat, so I was starving of course. Had my hubby bring me some food! I could hardly eat I was so exhausted, I went to sleep, and slept for 10 hours! Then they decided to send me home to let my body rest for a couple days and let ME get some sleep in my own bed. So now I have to go back to the hospital on Thursday morning at 9 am. I am a rare case where an induction doesnt work!! Lets hope it works thursday!! I have had "bloody show" for the last 24 hours now... so maybe it did get something rolling, just not fast enough for me! I am still coughing a bit, and still have a runny nose, but my back has healed and I dont feel pain there anymore thank goodness! Anyways, lovely pics bex! HOpe everyone is well Candice -

hey all, I just wante to pop in quick. I have been hospitalized with Pnemonia since tuesday. They were going to induce me but with pnemonia, they said it was too dangerous. I was put on antibiotics, and morphine for the back pain. I am out on a day pass for the night, so I thought I would just let you all know. What a shitty way to spend the last week of pregnancy! I am having a toddler.. 9 to 10 lbs minimum they said. My baby was 5.5 lbs at the beginning of December and is in the 95% of being HUGE. I have basically made it to my due date (sunday) so they will have no problems inducing me in the next couple of days unless I start on my own, but with all the monitoring they have been doing over the last couple of days.. no such luck yet. Anyways, I have to go take my meds now and then I can go to bed! I will likely not post again now till baby is born.. so by end of next week I HOPE! Good luck to everyone Candice -

Hey everyone, Well Still pregnant here, 5 days to go. My ribs were finally starting to heal on my right side then all of a sudden my left side started to hurt. I decided yesterday morning to get up and go to the clinic just to make sure it wasnt some sort of kidney infection or something and as I was getting ready to leave, I ended up in the ER yesterday morning (for the third time since this virus hit) I coughed so hard I heard a popping sound in my mid to lower back on the left side and had instant agony and pain, with a burning sensation. I couldnt move, had to get my hubby to carry me to car and take me to hospital as I screamed in pain and couldnt stop crying it hurt so bad. I ended up getting a shot of demerol or morphine, not sure, I was in so much pain, and they had to take me for chest x-rays where they discovered I do have a small lung infection. I was put on valium to help relax the muscles in my back, as well as morphine pills I had left over from my band surgery. I was terrified about what this is doing to my baby, but they said this far along, there is a drug they can give the baby to reverse the effects of the narcotics and the baby will be fine. I was sent for a stress test of course to make sure the baby was fine, which all came back perfect. They sent me home with antibiotics and stuff. I had my mother in law come by yesterday after I got home from hospital to take care of me then my grandma till my husband got home, but after the horrible night I had last night, I am going to see if they can admit me, so I can have help getting up to go to the bathroom. My husband snores so bad I cant sleep, so he is in a different room at night and I had to scream for him for 1/2 hour at 4:30 this morning to help me get out of bed so I could go to the bathroom. It was not a pleasent thing for me. I am in severe agony. I am going to see if they will possibly admit me, because I really have no one to help me, as everyone is working, and I cant go through what I did last night (this morning) trying to get out of bed to pee.. which I do 3 to 4 times a night, thankfully last night it was only twice and the first time I made it out on my own.. screaming in pain, but I got up, but I guess by 4 am all the pain killers had worn off so I couldnt do it alone. this has to be the worst pain I have been in. Breaking my tale bone and the lapband surgery were nothing compared to the pain I am in now! I don't know how the heck I am supposed to deliver this baby if I cant even sit/stand/laydown without being in agony. My poor husband is freaked out, he doesnt know what to do to help, not that there is much, but he is so frustrated. I am hoping that my doctor will understand and admit me just so I have some help to move etc..So hopefully if all goes well, I wont be posting for a while, but at least I will be in decent hands! And if this baby does come I will be in hospital all ready! I will keep you all posted if I dont get admitted. Candice -

Hey everyone, I still have NOT popped! ONE more week to due date. I have just been so sick with this darn cold. I was coughing so much and so hard, that I bruised several ribbs and tore muscles along my rib cage. I have been layed up in bed for days on end. My doctor actually put me on T3s to stop the pain, it was so bad, I couldnt even get up to go to the bathroom without my hubby's help. I begged for my doc to induce me, haha but she said no! It is safer for baby to stay put for now she said. I guess since I still can NOT shake this cold at all. I have had it since Dec. 27th. I thought I was finally getting better 2 days ago, I went on a cooking spree. I baked a few loaves of bread and made buns, chili for supper along with extra for the freezer, huge pot of spagetti sauce for freezer, and 5 xl pizza's for the freezer. This way once baby does come, I wont have to worry about "cooking" alot. My hubby really knows how to make Kraft Dinner! LOL I dont want to live on that! I have been so fortunate, I havent even had a "baby shower" yet and I have gotten so many things from family and friends. My parents bought the crib, playpen, stroller, carseat/carrier for us along with some bedding and a few clothes, and box of diapers, and a few cans of formula (just in case). Then a cousin bought all the matching bedding, bumper pads, etc.. along with making me burping pads, a nursing pillow and a few other items all to match the bedding and room. My grandma bought the bathtub, a diaper genie2, refills, baby towels, bottles, and my mother in law, bought the change table/dresser, crib mattress, more bottles. There wont be a baby shower untill after this baby is born.. hehe since we do not know what it is. I have a number of people guessing it is a girl though. (we are really hoping for a girl too!) Anyways, sorry I havent posted in a while, but just one more week to due date (jan 27th) I am ready... I just want this baby OUT now! LOL Candice -

hi Angie, I was 32 lbs away from goal weight. I have gained 49 lbs and am considered full term now. Each person is different however just like each pregnancy is different. I got the band knowing it was safer with pregnancy than gastric bypass or any other weightloss surgery. Raynie, the baby's room is a very very pale mint green, and it will be done in a fish theme. I have a beautifull wall mural from Sears, of an underwater dolphin seascape. It is gorgeous. Once the baby is born we will add "little mermaid" if its a girl, or "nemo" if its a boy. I am a disney person Just over 2 weeks to my due date. I have completely dropped now, so it could be any day! Hope everyone is well! Candice -

Welcome back Rayne! Well I havent gone into labour yet, although last night I was having contractions every 15 mins for 2 hours but then they quit. I have to see my doc this morning, I am 37 weeks and 2 days. My due date is January 27th. We are still not finished the baby's room! My poor husband was putting primer on the walls last night while I thought I might be in labour. I am going today to get the rest of the paint. I have also been unbelieveably sick with a nasty cold. Of course there is nothing they can do for it, I swear I am coughing myself into labour. I have been since the 27th of December! As for sleep.. well I have no idea what that is anymore. Everyone keeps saying rest now, you wont be able too once the baby comes, but how can you sleep with a belly the size of a beach ball, and top it off with a cold, coughing that doesnt stop.. ugh.. sorry I am such a complainer! I just want this baby to be born and I want to be healthy! I am really excited to be a mom though. We are hoping to have the baby's room all done by thursday! That is my husbands day off. I have to say ladies, I am sure glad to live in Canada! I certainly couldnt afford to pay out of pocket to have a baby! Nevermind all the other expences that go along with a baby. Anyways, I had better get ready for this doctors appointment! I will let you know if I go into labour! Candice
