I use generic stool softener. If its only been a day I will take 1, this week was the 1st time I used two. Took them at night and went in the morning. No pain. You just have to be careful you don't get diarrhea. I used them the first week postop. But only one.
-
I use liquid vitamins: nutrametrix isotonix. Multi (you can get with or without iron) I also use their calcium. You get to count it toward your water intake.

one week post op & feeling hopeless
Djstola replied to miss_lalaaa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everything you're feeling is completely normal. I also found Premier protein for breakfast to be a total lifesaver. It might take about six weeks for you to feel better. You had major surgery. Your insides are swollen and need to heal. Mentally you just changed everything about how you will eat...forever. Be patient with yourself and it will get better. I'm about ten weeks out now and can finally, honestly, say I don't regret the surgery. Six weeks ago I was miserable. Just keep looking for liquids that make you feel good. Also I found taking Pepcid 2 times a day really helped. Hang in there -

At three weeks I was miserable. At six weeks I was feeling better. At ten weeks now and I feel MUCH better. Still miss eating a normal meal. But, my biggest complaint now is hiccups and some constipation. At three weeks I had MANY complaints including nausea weakness stomach pain etc. IT DOES GET BETTER. Hang in there

Omg I know exactly what you are talking about!!! Hey long term Sleevers...does this ever go away???
-
I had remorse for about the first 6 weeks. I still hate not being able to just eat a normal meal. I am 2 months post op and havent figured it out yet. I'm losing slowly and hit a stall at the 3-4 week mark. Still don't know how to handle social situations or going out to eat. BUT I am only two months into this. My advice, give yourself lots of time and be patient. Honestly, I think some, or even a lot, of my regret has to do with my inability to conquer the weight loss on my own without using such a drastic tool. I was embarrassed by my weight and am embarrassed I had to have this surgery. Guess I'm my own worst enemy...which is how I got obese in the first place!
-
I admit at two months out, I cheat. Chocolate covered almonds are yummy...the difference is I eat about 4 of them and I'm done. Pre-sleeve I would have eaten 40!

2years menopause, and just got my "time of the month". Are you kidding me?!

I'm 49 so beyond child bearing days. I'm sorry for your cancer. I had a bout with cervical cancer, but it was caught in the very early stages. Had 3 babies, and I thank God for them every day. -

I haven't had a period for two years. Sleeved on May 8th, 32 lbs down and suddenly I have my period. Not just spotting...full blown, had to go to the store immediately, gushing. WTF is happening??? Did this happen to anyone else? -

NEED HELP ON GETTING PROTEIN..

Try a different brand either premier protien, syntax nectar or injury. I made smoothies with Greek yogurt and peach nectar and some frozen peaches. My other week 1 and 2 trick was chicken broth with unflavored (syntax nectar) Protein. It gets easier...but it might take 4-6 weeks. Your tummy is swollen and needs to heal. I also had to take Previcid twice a day...still take it in the morning at two months post-op. the first four weeks were brutal for me But now it's finally good. Good luck and keep asking for ideas...we've all been there:) -
Anyone had back issues before surgery...
Djstola replied to linda305's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6 herniated disc and a permantly (cut) damaged sciatic nerve. Two lumbar spine surgeries. Back pain gets better with weight loss...no doubt about it. The less weight you carry in your stomach, the less strain on your back. It is my main reason for getting the sleeve. -
I use syntax nectar unflavored. I even put it in a lot of stuff and have never tasted it. It gets lumpy if the food is to hot...and even the lumps have no flavor.
