I am a mother of 5. The weight has creeped on over the years, I've dieted off and on all along the way with some success but always a return to where I am now ( my set point). We adopted a little girl who has severe physical handicaps and needs a lot of lifting and with is weight, I am having a harder and harder time. Then when we were told we could have no more children of our own and we adopted we wound up pregnant!!!!!!! So being close to 40 and having a 1 yo baby boy, 3 teens and a 4 yo who needs a lot, I figure it's just time.
