I had my band fitted nearly three years ago, lost over 3 stone and now slowly but surely putting it back on... I need help desperately.. I need a buddy.. Not someone full of told you so's , someone that understands me and can help me get back on track... Xx

I relate. I just found this site but I'm here for the same reasons. Gaining weight. Powerless over food. I don't want any judgments either. Thanks. Hi there,I know exactly how you feel.. It's my three year anniversary this week and not getting anywhere..I've made the decision to have some Fluid out of my band as I'm scared it's too tight now and I will ruin it if I carry on as I am!I don't want judgement either... I totally understand how you feel. Get in touch Julie xx -

Hi there, I am so sorry I haven't been in touch, I have had a manic month with so much going on... My husband had a car crash and flipped his car over, was a bit of a shock but all ok and he wasn't really injured too badly.. He works nights every few weeks so he was driving home after a nightshift, so we have made quite a few life changing decisons this last month, we have decided to move home closer to where he works which means I will need to look for a new job but I'm up for the challenge. The diet hasn't been great... But still hanging in. I hope your May has been better than mine.. Why does everything always happen at once! Sending hugs... Julie xxx -

Hi Tammie, Thanks for the message, I'm doing ok, not having the best of weeks but once I have tomorrow out of the way it's all about ME!! It's been the busiest month at work as in the UK it is tax year end and I work for a large chartered accountants and I do payroll so everyone's taxes have to be submitted by tomorrow so it has been early morning starts and late night finishes!! I am shattered and not really been eating the best but I have done a lot of reflecting over the past couple of weeks and I have decided I am going to quit making cakes for a while, I've got to the point where it's just one big stress when it comes to doing them for other people and with working full time I don't have the time so I am saying NO to cake orders and going to look after ME.. This means health, exercise and family... I hope you are looking forward to a lovely Easter weekend, we are going away for the weekend to a lovely country house hotel near Whitby which is on the East Coast of England.. Lots of walks and swimming as I think there is a pool at the hotel.. Just some relaxing time with my husband is needed. Keep in touch and Happy Easter! ???????? -

Hi there, I am so sorry I haven't been in touch, I have had the maddest week at work and also full of cold, so far I have lost 7lb so far since my fill so feeling much better, I've also been trying to keep moving, I did a long walk today with my pups, they are worn out as well as me hehehe... So what have you been doing this week? Thank you for sharing where you live in the USA, we visit the USA quite a lot, even got married there. We have friends in Minnesota which we try and visit every few years and also I'm a massive Disney fan so we go to Disney world quite a lot.. Our next trip is in September... I haven't been to disney since I had my band fill so I'm quite anxious about all the food.. I'm hoping they will let me have child portions.. There is an awful lot of food there!! But I'm very excited about going again.. I'm such a child at heart.. I hope your having a lovely weekend xxx -

Hi Tammie, Thanks for the message, it's been a busy day here, all the temptations of baking.. I haven't had any though! I'm busy baking for a fair at the weekend. The weather here today is pretty grim, very windy and it keeps raining.. We had lovely weather last weekend but we are having a cold spell now. I live near York which is in north of the Uk. Where across the pond are you? I hope you are doing well and staying focused also. Julie xx -

Hi Tammie, Sorry for the late reply, it's been a really busy week so far, my weekend was good thank you... And no snacking.. We have been out for lots of walks, even went to chose and buy a new bike.. Now spring is on it's way it's time to get outside. I went for my full yesterday, only had 0.5ml in but can definitely tell the difference, even though I have been on fluids today. I seem to have my head in gear at the moment.. I just don't want to fall down.. I have consciously cut down my portion sizes, and if I have oatmeal for breakfast I leave some if it's taking me too long to eat, a bowl of oatmeal can last me all morning.. Which in the long run stops me snacking on anything else.. Even eating a banana, a couple of bites and I'm done... It's all definitely in my head and been eating the things that go down like crackers/ crisps (potato chips)/ chocolate.. I just have to cut those out, eat smaller portions and exercise. How are you doing? How has your band fill been? Julie xx -

Hi there, well... I've made my appointment.. I go next Tuesday.. Quite excited now... I emailed Belgium and they are in Manchester next week so I'm going, I don't think I need much but it can only benefit... So far this week I've been good on the no snacking and treats, I've had two protein shakes today and going to have some bolagnaise for my dinner.. I have a busy week this week as I'm busy cake making.. As well as my full time job I have small cake decorating business... Not the thing to do when you have weight problems lol... Luckily sweet things don't bother me too much.. My band is quite a big one then if yours is 10cl, when I had mine done it was a new one out .. But it seems I need quite a lot in it. I think there are quite a few different ones. I think I have about 10cl in mine already xx -

Hi Tammie, Wow.. So you needed a fill, I'm about to email my provider about having a fill, I've had a protein shake for breakfast today, it's kept me going for the most of the morning and then a few bites of bananas.. Do you have to stay on liquids for a few days after your fill as over here you are supposed to (or they tell you) to have liquids for three to four days.. It scared me last time having my fill when I couldn't swallow. So I think just a small fill if I do have one. How much does your band hold? Fluid wise? I think mine is a large one, 14ml. Julie xx -

Thank you all for your kind words... It is hard getting back on track. I am going to make an appointment with my weight loss survey provider and maybe see about having some more in my band.. Though I don't think I can have much more.. Last time I had some in I got stressed out and couldn't swallow anything.. Not even suck an ice cube so I had to have some taken out... It's been a rough ride but I'm going to get there xx -

Hi there, thank you so much for low down on. Your food.. Today I have had oatmeal, then lunch was 3 crispbreads and homemade sweet potato and lentil soup, dinner was chicken casserole with lots of vegetables. I have started lots of exercise.. Yesterday we went on a long bike ride then a walk to the beach.. I'm aching lots today!!! I generally struggle with breakfast too so my oatmeal lasts me most of the morning and seems to keep me full longer. I have to say I feel a bit deflated having the lap band... I thought it would stop me being hungry and solve all my problems.. I think sometimes , especially over here in the Uk, they don't give you the whole help and low down on it all.. If you pay for it that's all they want.. They don't tend to follow up on it, which I think is my problem.. No real aftercare. I hope you have had good weekend. Julie x -

Hi there, I'm doing good, getting focused and ready to start a new week... Just trying to plan my food for the week.. Can I ask what sort of things you eat on a daily basis... I'm getting my head in gear and have bee for a long walk with my puppies today, planning on a bike ride and long walk tomorrow to kick start it all.Thank you so much for your words of inspiration.. Ready your last email we have some many similarities then I think most banders will be able to relate. Julie x -

Hi there, thank you so much for replying to me. I have the lap band which I have had now for nearly three years. I haven't seen my surgeon since I had my operation but see nurses from the same hospital. I had my surgery in Belgium , and the nurses come over to the uk to fill the bands. I wasn't happy the company who were originally looking after me so I go direct now to the nurses under the supervision on my surgeon. I have the right amount in my band.. My problem is the snacking between meals.. Things I know are going to go down. When I eat a meal it is only small. It's the chips , crackers and chocolate that go down too easily!! I work an office job so sat down all day, my husband works nights so I come home and snack.. I need to get out of this downward spiral which is why I decided to come back on here.. I need some inspiration and someone I can chat to when I feel I need to snack... It's silly as I'm not hungry. I'm eating for the sake of it!! Habit and comfort... I thought all this would be easy but it isn't... The band stops you eating but your brain still tells you to eat! I also work too near a grocery store which is always tempting! Maybe I should leave my purse at home so I can't buy treats! Xx -
Are there many people from the UK here?

I have an 11ml band with 7.50 'm in it at the moment, everyone is different.. I still have a long way to go, I need more in it as still eating too much but my provider won't put any more in it till I write a food diary... not happy, feel like I'm being treat like a child.
