I'm 5'4" 328... we have similar starting points! I'd love to share our experience with surgery i.e.: ups and downs, losses, NSVs, I think it would be wonderful. I'm so happy there are so many people in this post that we can learn and gain encouragement from!

Who is your insurance through? It sounds a lot like mine!! I have UHC and they use BRS Bariatric Resource Solutions for all their WLS aprrovals. I had to have six consecutive monthly visits (not necessarily the same physician, which made things pretty easy) At every visit the doc had to sign my worksheet with the date, my weight, and check at least one of three little boxes saying they advised me on what to eat, or exercise, or behavior changes... I had to have a BMI of 40 or greater or at least 35 with one co morbidity (diabetes, high bp, sleep ap, etc) and a psyc eval.

Can you believe we're only about two weeks away from our group's front runners' surgery dates!! What are you all doing to prepare? I can't wait to hear about your pre op appts and the pre op diets and how you are all doing!! It won't be long until we stake our claim on the losers' bench!

I started the pre op early to shed some weight before surgery, and I fell OFF the wagon last week! lol! So yes, I've had that. I've decided to start with a clean slate on Sunday! I could beat myself up or I can just keep on truckin, I know it's a process, and we'll get there!

I was told not to stock up on vitamins b/c we'll be needing bariatric vitamins that are designed four the malsorption aspect of our new pouches. Maybe it's something you'd like to ask your physician about?
