Band Tightening... Anyone?
LaShonh replied to LaShonh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you may be right. I will try to take it easy for a minute. Because it just happened again. I only had some pumpkin seeds and soup and it happened again. In my case maybe I just can't do the seeds and hard ruffage stuff! And yes... Banded 11/29/12. -
I have had this feeling behind my chest/breast area that feels like the band has tightened or constricts. After I have eaten a salad. Not painful, just uncomfortable. My initial thought was maybe I took to large of a bite or ate to fast. Then I thought it was the famous gas. The discomfort happened b4 and went away. This time it lingered for a day or two. Has this happened to anyone else? Weird feeling!

Band tightening... Anyone?

Banded 11/29/12 with 3.5cc. Don't think I was stuck because it went down and after eating is when it started again. Has since subsided just weird. And told the dr at last visit and the test looked good. Haven't had any other major side affects. -

My first plateau, an observation....

Try not to weigh yourself daily. Try weekly goals and weigh yourself at the same time every time. The scale can be friendlier like that. -
I did most things everyone has said above. Plus joining this forum has been I way for me to connect with others, even when I don't say a thing I peek at what others are saying and it helps. I also track and journal everything. It's starting to become 2nd nature. Banded 11/29 down 27lbs. Your on your way too. Stay focused!!

I Should have NEVER said anything
LaShonh replied to JhonnieB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I heard and read the same type of thing. I was banded 11/29/12 and down 27 lbs. It has been virtually easy and the proof is in the puttin. I told only a few and plan not to disclose until and if I want too. Not a secret just trying to keep my focus and not be distracted with unnecessary chatter. Just follow the instructions and remember your goal. Wish you all the best! -
Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
LaShonh replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded 11-19-12 down 27 lbs and loving it. I don't find it terribly hard. Just mentally adjusting and I feel like I'm hitting my stride. I'm learning how to prepare and eat healthy. Which I thought would be hard with a husband and kids but I have everyone on a health kick including the dog! I have found this forum to be a life line for me (and I mostly read) very seldom do I respond but it has been a wealth of information. And it's nice to know there are people out there dealing with the same issues and have great insight. Going for my next fill in a day and looking forward to the additional restriction. I have been tracking everything and it has really help me stay in line. Some might think 27lbs in roughly a month in a half is not that big of a deal but I made it through the holidays without hurting my new sidekick (the band). :-) all the best!!! -
When is this "tool" going to show up?
LaShonh replied to audreycat123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go back to the dr next wk. can't wait for another fill. I agree 100%. -
I try to plan what I will eat for the week. It helps so that I don't do the last minute stuff your face eating with the wrong thing. I've done breakfast: shakes add fat free pudding (gives good twist), eggs, turkey bacon or hot cereal. Lunch: salad w/chicken or tuna. Dinner: Chick and vege. Portion and plan out and put in freezer for quick eating. And my office cabinet has canned tuna, soups, drinks, protein. I'm ready!!!!

I'm right there with you. I was banded Nov 2012 and have little restriction with one fill. I've noticed some days it's more than others. If I eat solids in the am I tend to eat more during the day. If I drink a protein shake for breakfast it tends to help my eating desire and intake volumn throughout the day. Take your time eating and listen to your stomach. It's probably more out if habit than actual hunger. At least that's what I keep telling myself and it does help. Also, in between meals drink, drink, drink... Water, Crystal light, coffee, tea... -
I simply started walking around the parking lot at work and over the holidays I received a new exercise bike. So between the two I am getting in at least 4-5 days a week (personal goal).
