Surgery on 3/11--yea... Ha

I am 4 days out. Wife and I took kids to the park. Still sore around the port and diaphragm area...normal?

Stomach is gurgling! I just wonder if all the pain is from gas! I wish I knew.

How do I be a good dad and husband, being limited in my abilities? Feel so worthless. I truly don't know if she understands my limitations. Trying to be superman, and it ain't working!

2 days post op. I am breathing in the machine and get it consistently at 4000. I am having a pain under my left rib cage. Bruising or lung? Concerned!

No hernia repair. I was just worried about a lung. I guess I'm being paranoid!

I'm one day out. How long will this last?

I started at 280. My goal is 190. 1 day post op, I'm at 259!

In bed now. When is the worst? I little pain in the gut, a little gas...what are the next few days like?

It is Monday. I am excited, but nervous! I don't want to fail with the band!

What are the restrictions?

Is there anything saying that shooting a gun with the band is prohibited?

Someone please explain this to me. If they expect someone to lose 65% of their excess weight. How do you figure this? At weigh in, I was 280. Today, a week and a half from surgery, I weigh 267. What is my excess body weight? I am 5' 11''.

So when it is said that most can experience an excess body weight loss of 50% is that after surgery or pre diet? Basically, can I get to 190 from 280 with the band?

I haven't started my 2 week diet before my March 11 surgery. Fully clothed at initial, I was 288. This morning I weighed 268...are they going to tell me that I don't need it now, since I've been losing? Should I keep losing? Or eat happily?

Since weighing in at True Results, I weigh 16 lbs lighter. My wife says, 'see you can do it by yourself.' The band had been my motivation, as I know this time...I'll keep it off! I'm 269 at 6' now...any one out there get the surgery at this size? I want to get to 260 before surgery. Any thoughts about how long it will take me to get to 200? Will my skin go back, without sags? How long is the surgery? Please feel free to answer any or all questions. Thanks, Clay

1300 for surgeon fee, 750 for my deductible, And 2000 for anesthesiologist.

I am a teacher in Texas and have TRS BCBS. It was submitted to insurance one week ago, today. How long does this approval take with them? Thanks!

I am 275 lbs @ 5' 11". I have done everything to be submitted to insurance. Again, I'm thinking...can I not do it without the band?? I'm a 35 yr old male... Some thoughts of mine... Can I not do this without surgery? Can I not enjoy food again? I'm ready to be skinny, but yikes!!! Why don't I see success stories for men? Can you tell me your start height/weight, current weight and how long it took you to get there. Feel free to answer one or all! Thanks!
