Hello! I just reached my one year of being banded on 12/17 - The first 9 months after my surgery were great but somehow I have fallen off the wagon and have gained 10 pounds in the last 3 months. I know I need to get back to the basics, but I don't know how to start. I am so incredibly disappointed with myself I cannot seem to get in the right mindset to get back on track! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

I completely understand where you are coming from. I was banded in December of 2012 and have lost 36 lbs so far. People tell me how great I look and how skinny I have become, but I am still 38 lbs overweight. When I look in the mirror I don't see what everyone else sees and it is upsetting. My husband tells me almost everyday how proud he is of me and how different and wonderful I look - I wish I could see what he sees. I talked about this very topic in my support group last month and I was told by many who were 10 years plus out from surgery that it took them a very long time to finally see the difference - once you get used to seeing something (fat) for so long - you just have a hard time not seeing it anymore.

I have only had 1 fill and I too didn't feel any different. I spoke to my nutritionist and she told me that the 3rd fill is when most people start to feel the restriction. Be patient and continue following your doctor orders.

anyone here did/is doing the couch to 5k program?
kmnolan81 replied to Lapbandster's topic in Fitness & Exercise
HI! I am in the middle of week 4 of Couch to 5K. I never thought I could be a runner, but I've been sticking with the program and am doing it. I registered for my first 5K for April 28th. I am so excited! -
Hello! I was banded on 12/17/12 and am curious of what people's rate of weight loss is. I just started my 5th week and have lost 18 lbs, which I am thrilled with, but not sure if I should be losing more each week. I've been walking every day for at least 20 minutes and am only eating 2 oz of Protein 3 times per day. I just thought I would have lost more by now. Thank you for any input.

Hi! My name is Kelly - My surgery was performed on December 17, 2012. So far I have lost 15 lbs and am very excited! I've started my soft foods and am finding it very weird to eat so little, but like that I am not hungry all day long. I'm starting to get a little down as my weight loss has slowed dramatically, but I guess that is normal. I meet with my surgeon on Friday for my first check up and hope he will make me feel better.

December 2012 --- Band Buddies Unite!
kmnolan81 replied to LadyLeigh2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HI! I was banded on 12/17 - 2 1/2 weeks out and 15 lbs down. Started soft foods a few days ago and feel like I am going to gain weight. I'm scared to overeat, so then some days I know I'm not getting enough calories or protein. I wonder when this feeling of "I'm never going to lose weight" will end.
