I had a gall bladder operation done laparoscopically last June. I'm assuming the surgery will be done using the same general area of my scars now. Has anyone ever had gall bladder surgery and then had lapband later here? I did really well with my gallbladder surgery so I'm hoping the lapband will go as smoothly. I haven't spoken to my surgeon yet but was just wondering if anyone here could answer this? Thanks!

Thanks for the answers guys...that makes me feel better knowing it probably won't be an issue. I have so many questions for the surgeon and I know I'll forget them all when I get there. I'd never wear a bikini either...been so long since I could do that and I like the one piece look better too.

New here and getting excited!

Hi Angela. I'm new here too. You sound like me. My commute was 45 minutes one way for 8 years and I've had a desk job for the last 13 years. Good luck to you and looking forward to hearing more about your journey. -
I've been researching the lapband for almost a year now. My husband and I have discussed it and he's really supportive. I finally made an appointment in October for January 16 to see the surgeon to discuss it. I will most likely be scheduled for surgery soon after. I haven't told anyone at work or in my family. I think I am embarrassed that I need help mostly. Since I decided to do this in October I've gained 15 pounds. It's like I have a fear of never being able to enjoy food again so I'm eating now to make up for it. I know that's silly and putting so much emphasis on food in my life is what got me here. I'm 270 lbs at the moment. Two and a half years ago I was 305 lbs. I lost 35 lbs through diet changes and trying Jenny Craig and Optisfast shakes. I've been able to keep it off but have fluctuated between 250 and 270 for the last year. I'm stuck and I just want to be a normal healthy weight. So I figured I'd start here for support on this journey. It's very informative and encouraging to read others post. Hope to learn more. My name is Karen.
