doxiegirl started following So sad, 5 1/2 months in and hungry, 2 days post op-back in the hospital and and 7 others
-
I was banded Dec 28,2012 and have only lost 40 lbs. Last month I only lost 4 lbs when before it was going so fast. I hate to ever tell my business but I suffer from bipolar disorder and the meds were what caused my weight gain of 75 lbs in 5 yrs. I don't need a fill,I am already super cautious because I seem to get"stuck" pretty easily. Is the hunger just in my head? I used to not get hungry for hours and now I find myself grazing. Not gaining weight, just not losing as much. Any advice?

2 days post op-back in the hospital
doxiegirl replied to stephgfl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded Dec 28,2012 and was in the ER the next morning at 2am. Nausea, pain and dehydration. They gave me fluids, dilauded and zofran. It didn't really help,it just had to run it's course for a few days. You'll be fine, just give it time. Hang in there,it's worth it -
Oh no! My 6 yr old has told me I drown out the dogs barking with my burping....we won't even discuss the other end 0-0

I am three weeks post op and still have terrible gas! Is this still from surgery or is this a forever thing with the lap band? I take enough gas x for a village

Why is she being so mean to me?
doxiegirl replied to Jean McMillan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally agree,I would never be rude or mean on a forum or text because you never know what that person is feeling in the moment. I personally have had many days ruined by someone that at the time I was in a fragile state and took it to heart -
Why is she being so mean to me?

I'm a newbie but I will say that I do suffer from Bipolar 1 disorder. The meds are a partial cause of my weight gain. And I too was forced to take that little vacation a few years ago. I am not allowed to answer the phone at work,as I am told that I am rude to clients. I have very strong feelings about the things most important to me and I have only been banded two weeks now and someone is already trying to jeopardize my success out of pure jealousy.....I just have to keep in mind it's just jealousy. -
When will i feel better ?
doxiegirl replied to minxymonsta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No matter how bad you feel be sure to sip your water. I had extreme gas pain and was so nauseated I dehydrated and wound up in ER. Not fun at all -
Can someone tell me how to post a profile pic on here? My hubby is a nerd and still can't help me lol

Thanks everyone,I feel a little relieved now to know it's normal -
I know this may be TMI,but I suffer from PMDD and I'm over a week late. I was banded 12-28-12 and the ugly mood is there but not my period. Is this normal? Definitely not preg (tubal ligation)

Banded on 12-28-12 at BR General. Anyone here been to the meetings yet,and just curious as to why I need to bring my ins card

Hi,I too was scared of the surgery but after 5 yrs of rollercoaster weight problems I had to do it. Up until my 30's(before my pregnancy lol)I never was over 125lbs. I would start dieting, lose weight and gain twice as much back. After 6 yrs of this I hit 195! More than I was at 9 mos pregnant. I went straight to my Dr and he made the appt for me. I was banded on 12-28-12. No regrets so far

Pain/recovery compared to c/section?
doxiegirl replied to bluegirly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had a c-section and spinal surgery and neither one was as painful as the gas pain from the lapband surgery. I just had it on 12-28-12 and was in the ER that night. 4 delauded(however you spell it)injections and zofran for nausea...nothing helped. I am just starting to feel better -

I was banded on Dec 28 and sent home soon after, only to end up ayt the ER that night in extreme agony. I'm extremely tolerant of pain but the gas was horrible from the laparoscopy. It's day 5 and I'm just starting to feel a little better. Is this normal? My teeth we're chattering and I was shaking uncontrollably
