An end to pain and suffering
susancwalker2008 replied to babykins529's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I just found out this week that my issue is very similar. My tubing has been wrapped behind my spleen and at the same time irritating my diaphragm. I am considering a revision when they remove the band. My question is, due to all the medical problems and testing and imaging I have done, is it easier to deal with insurance? I just want to be done with all of the pain. -
Wore a 2 piece swim suit today and didn't throw up in my mouth! Lol
susancwalker2008 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Today I decided that I since I was swimming with friends I would wear a cute bikini top and a black swim skirt. At 70 lbs lost and my best feature being my waist, I felt I deserved it. Well my friends were impressed and I was content. 3 babies and a lapband and I did it. I'm not sure when I will do it again, but I did it. Hip, hip, horray. -
I have done so well, but today, even though I didn't mess up too much, I let the day get to me. You know I became an Autism teacher to make a difference, but there are days when you just sit on the floor and cry. My patience had run out. I was no longer the saint that my principal professes I am. I no longer had the patience of Jobe and I just wanted to disappear. Please take me out of this room of screaming, running, throwing chairs and slapping and hitting. I was tired. I think the children even wore each other out. I have got to be successful, but I expect that if I fail at this it will be because of days like today. I'm too spent to work out, I ate great today, then had nachos for dinner. Oh, the guilt. Why do I sabotage myself so? I don't know what I want here, but it feels better to put it on paper. I'm not a saint, I'm me and I struggle and that is no longer okay. I love my job, I love my kids, but I want tommorow to be better. I need to be able to come home and leave them behind, because this band, it is important and it helps me on my first fill. I cannot let autism win over me here at home or over my beautiful students at school. Thanks. Tir

Banded For A Year With Little Weight Loss...looking For Some Support!
susancwalker2008 replied to algae82's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Okay, I think you may be a little like me. My body needed something else when I got banded. It seemed really resistant to weight loss at first. So I committed to exercising, like really hard exercise for several days in a row and it jump started everything. I was able to then exercise a couple days a week to keep it going. Count those proteins. Hope this helps a little. -

susancwalker2008 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You know guys, I don't think I would have made it to this point without all of you. I follow the rules, but still enjoy my food. Got in the green on the first fill! It's been awesome ever since. I have incredible support from my friends and family and you guys of course. But guys, I have been toying With the first 50 for about a week and a half. How amazing is it going to feel to get there! So can I get a hell yeah! I'm going to make it happen. No work. Gotta love being a teacher and getting the summer to focus on me and my kiddos. My next goal is 3o lbs by August or a size 10 dress, whichever comes first. I work out everyday, but it is time to seriously step it up! Love ya'll. I'm a Texas girl! Rock on. I love my band. -
Where did you notice the loss first?
susancwalker2008 replied to deleteme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My waist was the first to go. People noticed my face too, but I don't see it. -
Why do they say not to drink with your meal and to wait 30 minutes after your meal?
susancwalker2008 replied to BringingSexyBackToTX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is exactly what happens to me. It's horrible. I drink a on before I eat and wait, at least an hour after. -
I was on a plateau for six weeks and I was very unhappy. I read this thread http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/159669-carb-cycling-an-experiment-gone-right/page__st__540__hl__carb%20cycle#entry2019693 I started carb cycling on Sunday and have lost 5lbs so far. AMAZING!!! I upped my calories from 1000 to 1200 on high carb days. I'm just going to continue as long as I'm losing. LOVE IT!!!

I'm about six months out and having good success, I started at 268 the day of surgery and am down 51 lbs now. My surgery was on Feb 18. I work very hard with my band and feel great. There are ups and downs, but I would not do anything different. Even after my 2 yr old was distracting me a few minutes ago, I didn't chew good enough and got stuck on fish of all things. Can you say irritated!!! Now I need to let my band rest for a few minutes and try again. Purely my fault. The negative on this board were very scary to me, but a few people I just love are Mis73, B-52. You can even call or text me. Just PM me. Good luck.

I don't mind!!! Go ahead!!! Take my picture!! I'll never hide again.

Since the day of my surgery I have lost 51 lbs. My surgery was on February 18, 2013. I started 30 minutes of exercise 4-5 times a week. I have varied since, some weeks off, and some weeks 45-60 minutes of exercise. I stay under 1000 calories per day. Hope that helps. -

Hey Guys. I am so happy to say that since February I have lost my first 50 lbs, no 49, no 47, no 50. Well close enough. Well since school has been out, I have continued exercising and following my lapband rules. I am in the green zone and that is great. Buts the scale is no longer moving. Its been about 4-5 weeks with up and down the same 2 pounds. Seriously people, I was so excited to be in a 12-14 by August and now I know that is not going to happen. I eat about 1000 calories per day. What are some tips you guys have to get things moving again. I would be great to average 1 pound a week at this rate. At least it would be something. Thanks for your help!!

I can't believe this day has arrived. I have been so happy. Today is such a sad day. I have to say goodbye to one of my besties. Such good friends we have been, but you have turned against me. Its terrible to feel this way but I really have to end the relationship. Goodbye Beans. All beans no pinto beans or refried beans. No black beans or lima beans. Never again. I can't take it. My band hates you and has demanded our departure. Have a wonderful bean life. Crying.. Goodbye my friend. Its been real. Real stinky that is !!! Susan

Gaining Confidence

I'm definitely feeling amazing. Shopping for clothes is entirely too much fun. I haven't worn a dress in 10 years and now everyday. -
Well, that was unpleasant...

Noticing the loss
susancwalker2008 replied to utkscvol1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started really noticing when my friends were saying, "OMG, look at that waist!" After the first 20lbs. Today, i cleaned out my closet and have no shirts that have an X in them. AWESOME!!! Now lets work on that butt. Takin a bit longer! -
3 weeks since surgery and I have stop losing weight
susancwalker2008 replied to Brieshay's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Definitely take your inches. It took until after I hit the green zone that I started loosing much quicker. I work out doing all kinds of exercise, I get bored easily. This takes time, it will really be worth it!!
