    What does it feel like

This might sound weird, but have you tried taking some Gas-X? I'm thinking you have a stomach bug, and gas along with that. I've had incredible pain with gas since being banded, not like before, and Gax-X helps me. Best wishes to you!!

    Port question?

Ok, I saw my doctor today, and actually had an upper GI done. The loose thing I'm feeling IS my port. My insurance isn't paying for follow up care, so I'm not having a revision, but they said everything will be fine. He said certain waist bands can cause discomfort, but not to worry. All was well withy upper GI, too. He checked because I reported heartburn.

    PCOS

Hi! I also have PCOS and Graves' disease, which is a thyroid issue. At my highest, I weighed 291, and I now weigh 220. I am just past my one year mark of surgery. I do consider this a success, although I would like to still lose 10-20 more pounds. My biggest issue is that I am a sugar addict. Literally. I'm struggling to keep it out of my diet because if I let it in, I cannot have it in moderation. However, I'm not sure if that's related to PCOS, or just my makeup. I wish you the best on your journey! Keep us posted!

    Port question?

Question for people who have been banded for a while.... I have had my band for about a year, and I'm still having port troubles. If I wear jeans it will hurt. I wore jeans for two days this week, and now I actually have a bump that moves around easily under my skin. (I switched to a stretchy skirt today.) I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of problem?

    I finally see it!!!!

I can see a lot of difference! Good work!!
  7. My nephew just had an elite military graduation, and I'm happy to report that I was comfortable and HAPPY to have my picture taken while there. 70 pounds ago, I avoided the camera at all costs! I'm not exactly where I want to be, but I've come a long way.
  8. Are you guys referring to a website where we can get food ideas? (Mrsinto) Can you please post it? I can only use this app on my phone, but I could really use something like that!

    Weight loss goal?

I have a question for everyone.... I know weight goals are personal, but do you think it's bad if mine is higher than most people? I'm trying to decide if I'm keeping myself from reaching my true potential, or if its really ok. I began at 291, and now I'm 219. I'd love to lose 10 pounds more, but I'll still weigh over 200 lbs!! Is that a poor goal? I feel good, and my bloodwork is all good. My primary care doctor says that maybe I'm just not meant to be super small... Thoughts?
  10. Every single person that gets a band struggles with diets, it's why we need the band. The band will help with your physical hunger, and you won't feel like your dieting all the time.

    "Stranger Here"

    "Stranger Here"

I don't know if anyone else likes to read like me, but I know we must have similar joys and struggles with droid and our bodies. I recently picked up this book, 'Stranger Here', that's about someone else's weight loss journey, and it brought years to my eyes to know that my food struggles are not just mine! It also made me so glad that I opted for the band and not a more invasive surgery. I think it's a great read for anyone on this journey! Best wishes!!
  13. I'm a year postop, so not an expert by any means, but I read you thread and wondered if you guys are drinking Protein shakes? It might help with the hunger. Congratulations and best wishes!!

Not sure what is going on

I understand your frustration: I have an addiction to food! It's how I got fat in the first place! Sometimes I wish my band would go away, and other times I wish it would STOP me from eating. Dr. Simpson is my doctor, and my best advice to you is weigh and measure your food. If you are eating the appropriate amounts for the band, and you're still hungry within 4-6 hours, discuss a fill with your doctor. Be careful, because a band bring too full is detrimental to your health and weight loss. I've list 70 pounds, but stalled after I started having sticks daily, which led to an unfill. Good luck to you!

Losing no weight with my lapband help?

Thanks! I asked because like the gentleman that started this thread I've had trouble losing recently. I'm a sugar ADDICT, and not eating the way I need to recently, either. I read your reply and thought that I should also try that to get back on track! Detox or rehab, if you will.
