Don't drink Ice water . It tightens everything up. Just go slow take a sip every ten mins that's what I have todo . -
Well just baby the band . I drink yogurt smoothies and protien shakes all day. I cannot eat any solid food whatsoever. But my band gas already slipped. You will be fine just take care of yourself and your baby!!!

Seeing Counselor About Eating Issues What To Expect
girlnpink03 replied to kyethra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think the councilor is. A great idea. I have to haven't band removed due to a severe slip when I'm 36 weeks preg. I think this is something I may consider. After getting the band I told everyone I didn't need weightloss surgery I need brain surgery. -
I'm seeing another doctor now one that actually cares about my well being and my baby. He said the slip is so bad it has to r removed . I'm trying to make it to 36 weeks I'm only 33 but my ban slipped while I had 0 fill? Dis heartening . But I honestly have had nothing but complications in fact I actually got to a point where I was to skinny can u believe it . 110 lbs. I looked hungry haha. But as soon as you have fill taken out of the band I at one point gained 20 lbs in one week . On a liquid diet. Soup and water . I was that dehydrated. So idk . I'm glad I got to get the weight off. I know it will be a challenge once it's removed to keep it off but I want to at least be able to eat a salad now . If I never see a cup of broth or potato soup again I'm ok with that lol. Good luck to all my fellow banders Im sure your journey will be much more successful than mine . Do right by your band and it will do right by you. It's all a mental game . Be stronger than your thoughts.xoxo

Yes the cost has gone down dramatically . That is a plus . But I was not impressed with the care I got while pregnant and haven't spoke with my surgeon since the day of my surgery 3 yrs ago.

I'm having my band removed as well. I'm sad but I'm glad . I would rather bust my tukus at the gym and eat right. My band has helped me lose 115 lbs but slipped while I was pregnant when it was completly unfilled? Weird right . Well so here goes the moment of truth . I have to have my baby early and remove the band at the same time. Meanwhile I can only drink a sip every 10 mins. And get fluids once a week at hospital to try and make it to 36 weeks . Scared to death to gain a significant amount of weight after removal . I guess I'm losing so much now I make up for it.scarey situation being preg and all.

Troll? Kinda rude . I have had many complications with my band a well. So she is only sharing her story and I have done research as well now regretting getting it . Wishing I just had will power in the Begining. But I am thankful that I got it with the chance to know what it is like I buy nice clothes anywhere. But I know have to have it removed. Due to a slip at 8 mths pregnant ! I am glad that many people are successful with it . But would recommend a sleeve before a band . Due to the fact that I have not had a healthy experience with the band .

Well I have a lap band slip I cannot eat any solid foods and I'm 8 mths preg . And my band was emptied completly at 22 weeks preg. It happens. I went through try results they only charge $75 for an adjustment now. I have to have my band removed. I hear that if it slips you can have all the fluid removed and it will heal it self so if u want to keep the band I suggest getting an adjustment and trying to muster up some will power till it heals.

Thanks for letting me vent . So in the end I do not recommend Dr. Hollis or tru results and defiantly not memorial Herman. Southeast in Texas !!!!!

Ok guys this whole ordeal has been a mess. I went to the emergency room initially bc I have not been able to keep soup or even water down . This problem even with a completely empty band . No fluid. !!!!????? Granted I am 31 weeks preg. But I had all fluid out at 10 weeks but it has been a constant struggle to eat anything . So back to the fact I went to the emergency room for dehydration . I was losing weight I list 8 lbs in one week . They took and x ray of the band and told me it slipped and they were contacting my surgeon . dr. Hollis. He said you need I have emergency surgery to have the band removed . They informed me that I could not release me bc I was unable to eat or drink . So here we go . It took two hour to set up a transfer to the hospital my surgeon has rights at . So finally approved for transfer at 7 at night . I get to the other hospital and no one knew what was going on or the situation. So they decide to have me take a barium swallow . Keep in mind I'm preg so just loading my baby up with radiation . So I took a swig of fluid they snapped a shot and it was just sitting in the pouch . We waited 10 mins took another shot ad a little had trickled through. On a completly empty band !!!! And the er doc says its flowing so everything is fine . Flowing? On an empty band and most of the barium is still in the pouch and its flowing? He phoned my surgeon and says its flowing and surgeon said drink fluids and come in Monday for an adjustment ! Um... Adjustment for wht my band is empty !!!! Thank god the previous hospital gave me two bags of fluids bc the other hospital didn't even Try . Thy didn't look at my urinalysis or blood work or anything ! Transferred me just to send me back home !!!!!! So here I am at home still unable to eat food living off off warm apple juice and hot teas bc of the fluids I received it loosend up enough for me to keep that down .
