Dang that is awesome.. Way to go and congrats...
-
Thanks.. I thought it was me too.. I finally am able to come in
-
Ok my little 4 year old had an accident on the carpet - I shampooed the area where he went pee pee but the smell is still there.. YUCK What else can I use??? I scrubed it by hand this morning using Pine Sol and it is still there..
-
I used basically all the above - My sister had some of the Nature stuff and she stopped by the house today and put in on. Even though there was only a slight smell this morning. I am going for NO smell. Will check it out when I get home. Thanks a bunch

oh so your tummy is still healing. You know that old saying? It will get better with time:) It rings True -

Remember Barrett's is pre and having it does not mean that it is going to turn to Cancer. From what my Doc said only a minor percentage and usually if you are a white male your changes increase a whole lot. Now it could be Leener that if you have saline maybe a little needs to come out. Having a slight unfill makes alot of differance. Once you have barretts and take the prescibed meds there is a very good chance that it will heal up with out the acid coming up and irritating the eshopusgus further. Talk more with your doc and the only way to calm the not knowing is have a Scope done. I think that for us bandster that should be something that is done on a yearly basis just to rule out any other issues..

I like the saying on his T shirt. What fun you are having... I am thinking is says - I like to let my mind wonder but it never comes Back..

Yes Lisa I was very surprised it was Barrett's I thought the worse case scenario was a bad case of Gastritis or a slip. But I wonder if maybe the band did have something to do with it. I have been on a Barrett's support board and have not come across anyone else that is banded on there with Barretts so it seems that it it pretty common in the rest of the world. Just bewilders me on what I can eat and what bothers me. I just called this week to see if I could go down on the dosage of Meds and the office said no. I tried Prilosec back in Dec and had really good results so I thought the reflux was taken care of until I had that scope done and then WOW Shock. I aslo read on line that with the Barretts it causes another problem. I believe it is called VCD (vocal cord Dysfunction) Now I have developed a problem that I can be eating or drinking something and all of sudden I am in choking mode. It is strange to describe but it seems for no reason that my airway opens up even though my mind knows it has someing in my mouth. I hope that we can all get better from this.
-
Amy it's funny how other types of smells get past me but wet diapers or pee pee smells it's like radar..
-
What dosage of the Prilosec are you on?? I was having some issues in regards to the burning in my throat again. I go for another scope in Dec and I pray that it is better or resolved. I also learned that Chocolate plays a major role for some reason it causes the sphincter to be lazy and not close. I try really hard to stay away from it. I am a chocoholic. I for one had reflux issues before the band but not to the extent after my sinus infection last Jan. I have changed my diet alot more so than the normal bandster just staying away from stuff that has a lot of acid. I do wonder if the band led to this but I figure that watching what I eat and when will have an impact on getting better. I take 40mg of Nexium twice daily and I now do my sinus spray at night before I go to sleep in hopes that the draining will be less during the night. So far i have been doing that for 3 days will great results. I am no longer tight in the mornings and my reflux has gotten alot better.

Thank you all. In the mean time I ran home and put pine sol (could not stand the smell) on the spot till I can run to the pet store.. I do happen to have both the vinigar and arm and hammer. Believe me I am going to put everything I can find on it till the smell goes away... thank you all so much

That was pretty shocking I actually Gasped from shock. You could see the look on Katharines face she was stunned they called her name. Well the rest of the group has really got to work harder and make better choices next time.

The payment comes out of the HRA account. Health Reimbursment Account 1500.00 everytime I get medication it deducts from that account. I am trying to not spend the whole amount on just medication and on thier site they show the costs so it is a matter of budgeting what is left. Cause after that money is gone then it comes out of my pocket. Hind sight is 20/20 should have stayed with what I had..

I need some Input LBT Please. I am going to see about changing my reflux medication just for cost reasons and cause I am still having burning in my throat. Right now on Nexium 40mg 2 times a day. My Monthly cost right now is 274.00 I haved priced Aciphex, Prilosec, Previcid and Protonix. Now Protonix seems to be the less expenseive but I wonder is there anything else out there that I missed that has worked for you? Has anyone tried Protonix and what did you think of it? Actually they are all pretty expensive and I am trying to narrow it down. Waiting for the Dr's office to call so we can talk about it some More. As always Thank You

It takes quite a bit a patience - go slow it will come.. Not to hijack the thread but I will be steam cleaning the carpet tonight (tried a little this morning) in the bedroom because my 4yr old must have woke up and decided it was to dark to go all the way to the bathroom that he tinkled on the carpet (the smell) anyway good luck.
-
I will certainly talk to the Pharmacist today and see what they think.. I would love to switch to the Protonix and I will check out Omperazone and see if we have that here.. Thanks for the ideas..
-
The office called me back and said I can change if my insurance allows. But they suggest because of the Barretts that I stay with the Nexium and yes even the dosage. Crapola I did suggest Protonix since I would be looking at around 220.00 a month but she even suggested I talk with my insurance company first to see if they will go for it. And as for the burning she says it must be sinus again and not reflux. go figure oh well
-
I went with the new plan just because I thought back in November that I was going to save a boat load of out of pocket expensive at the Pharmacy. I never even figured on the Barretts in Dec and the Nexium or PPI for a lifetime. Anyway the new Plan put in you medical account 1500.00 right off the bat so any prescripts or dr appt came right out of there - no need for co-pays at the office or Pharmacy but your figure almost 300.00 every month then my sons medication which is a 100.00 everymonth it adds up. I guess I should have figured in the unexpectable. I would like to get it down to 100.00 a month but am still waiting for the office to call me so I can talk to them about it. I also seen a ad where Zeneca would help -- well we will see. No kidding that would be my truck payment - if it was my money
-
Not only will this help Leener but I got some good advise. I am again fighting with reflux even though I am on Nexium 2 times a day. It seems I have some kind of nasal thing draining down the back of my throat that is causing me distress. If I sip water is seems like it is coming back up and not going down.. How crazy is that? No saline in my band but it is a chore to get the water down. I think I will go back on the Aloe Vera Juice tonight and see what happens. Right now my throat is a burning and itchy..
