Just wondering how all our post-op Bandsters are doing. I'm up and about pretty well, but STILL having shoulder and back pain. It's hard to get in all my fluids and calories, since I have absolutely no desire to put anything in my mouth. The scale, BTW, still shows 2 pounds more than my pre-op weight.
-
I'm right there with you, Kate.
-
Thanks Kate. I know things are crazy at your house.
-
I've been two pounds heavier since the surgery and can't get my wedding ring off. Maybe when I start moving more and consistently having good Protein amounts, I'll lose the fluids.

As ready as I will ever be!

Try and get some sleep tonight. That was hard for me the night before. You will be in my prayers tomorrow. I'll see you in Bandland. -
Sounds as though you are doing great as well. Congrats. BTW.....Day 1 is the day after the surgery. Have fun on Saturday.

So glad you're feeling well. Keep us posted. It gives me hope for feeling better soon.

What do I need to stock up on for pre-surgery and post-surgery?
can_do replied to kileybug34's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Clear 100% juices, but no citrus, Sugar free popsicles and jello, low sodium broth, Gas-X, caffeine free tea, Crystal Light. Don't buy too much of thing, because things you like pre-op, may not work for you post-op. You may prefer cold to hot or even room temp liquids. I'm 2 days post -op and added Skim Milk Plus today mixed with my protein powder. My doc progresses the diet quite slowly. -
Another mini goal hit!!

Congrats! I look forward to that 30 pound mark. You are inspiring. -
Thinville! I like that. How are you feeling?
-
I just took a shower as well and after two days of nearly no calories, the scale did not budge. I'm probably holding onto fluids, since my protein intake was nil for those two days. Don't be surprised.

Was banded yesterday! Feeling achy but happy to be in this place in my life.

I'm very new to all of this, but I say, please get in to see your doctor. -
Congrats! I was banded just yesterday and know how you feel. Get lots of rest and walk in between.
-
I do plan on following doctor's orders to the letter as well. I will do nothing to mess with this surgery.
-
I certainly DO NOT feel the band. The main soreness is at the port site, only because it's the largest incision.

\ I'm missing my English Breakfast tea and my glass of Merlot

I was banded yesterday. My doc did not require a pre-op diet. However, when I met with the nutritionist about 3-4 weeks ago, she gave me a set of guidelines to follow.....no carbonated drinkd, cut out caffeine, cut out sweets and high fat foods, drink 8 cups of Water day and make sure I got at least 50 grams of Protein a day. I did this, as well as using....myfitnesspal and restricting my calories to 1200 daily. I figured if I did these things before the surgery, it would make my life so much easier afterwards. In the process, I lost 11 pounds and have already put the caffeine and such behind me. Hope this helps, Susan
