So frustrated! I am having the hardest time losing this baby weight! I went back to work a few weeks ago after having the summer off with the baby (I'm a teacher). I've been eating less and trying to exercise when I can. My oldest plays softball and has games everyday. By the time we get home in the evenings and I cook for the family, it's dark outside and I am exhausted. I know I need to find time to exercise. Its so hard! I go for another adjustment in a week and I haven't lost hardly any! I know it can be done because I did it before. Just needing to vent a little.

I am in the same situation. My baby boy is 3 months old. I would like to lose 40 lbs I gained with him plus another 30-40 lbs. I had a fill in my band but it wasn't much. Going in a few weeks for another. I have 2 older kids also and I am having trouble finding the time to exercise. It's going to be a long road. I hate that I have to buy bigger clothes to go back to work but I have a healthy baby so it was worth it. I know the weight will come off.

10 wks pregnant and have Q's?
sbox replied to roxie1705's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I recently had a baby boy. I had all but 1 cc removed from my band. I really enjoyed eating things I hadn't been able to since my band was put in. My port didn't hurt or cause any trouble. The last month or so my belly was very tight so you could feel it. Most people thought it was the baby's foot pushing out. Good luck! -
Sounds very much like a gallbladder attack. I had mine out in dec 2011. The sooner you get it out, the better you will feel.

February Challenge--Love is in the Air!

197 today. Down 3lbs total for Feb. Hate not loosing fast like I did in the beginning. -
I really like the canned chicken breast. I mixed it with chicken broth so it's moist and mashed it up with a fork. I ate cream of wheat, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, sugar free jello and pudding.

3 yrs and I still can't get rid of the last 20 lbs
sbox replied to debbie221's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in the same situation. I have been banded 3 yrs. I've lost 75 lbs but still have about 40 to go. I've been trying to track my calories. I have good restriction and stay full for 3-4 hrs after I eat. I try to exercise as much as I can. I recently got another fill and have lost 10 lbs since last month but its slowing down again. I know it's harder to lose the smaller you get but it's extremely frustrating. -
I am 34. I've had my band for 3 years. I'm still figuring it out on most days. I've lost 75 lbs total and have about 45 left to lose. I just joined the forum for some extra support and motivation.

For those of you who drink or want to drink coffee
sbox replied to meyouus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
A friend of mine who had the band would open and drink one diet coke a day. He would sip it and let it almost go flat. I have drank soda a few times but I feel terrible afterwards so I don't bother with it. -

I no longer drink carbonated drinks. I still drink my sweet tea and water. Can't give everything up! -
I also had my surgery 3 years ago so that probably makes a difference on the requirements.
-
I also had to meet with a nutritionist, just one time.

I know it sounds crazy but maybe you aren't eating enough. If the calorie deficit is too much your body will start storing. It's easy to get frustrated especially when it's something you want so badly. Don't lose hope.

Okay more questions..
sbox replied to TheNewMeTrini's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It might be swelling. It's only been a week. I was on liquids for a week. I drank warm chicken and beef broth. Warm tea helps too. Any warm liquid will help with the swelling. My band is really tight in the mornings so I have to drink hot tea before I eat even 3 yrs out. -

Up 1 lb to 199. It's TOM and its been a crazy, stressful week at school. Hoping next week will be better. Thinking I set my goal for the month too high. -
I was on the second day and I figured out that it was the pain meds making me sick. I stopped taking them and just took ibuprofen when I needed it. I didn't have any problems after that.

Get your thyroid checked. Hypothyroidism can also cause hair loss. It's a simple blood test.

That's so exciting! Congrats to you! My goal is 8-10. In a 14 now and starting to get a little baggy.

WORRIED ABOUT WORK AFTER LAP BAND
sbox replied to Molly40.P's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a FACS teacher (formerly know as home Ec) and my kids cook all the time plus we sell freshest baked cookies as a fundraiser for FCCLA. It's hard to smell cookies all day. I drink a lot of water and I am lucky because I have a kitchen in my classroom so I can cook things for myself. It's hard. I also chew mint gum to keep myself from sampling. You can do it! -
The only restriction was waiting a few weeks afterward because you are a little sore. Everything else has been very positive because once the weight starts coming off, your confidence gets higher and are more willing. I never feel my port at all.

Social Stigma and Full Disclosure
sbox replied to Mellzbellz21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've only told a few people. I didn't even tell some of my siblings because I was afraid of them judging me. It's not anyone else's business. Tell the people you feel comfortable with. All the people that I have told have been very supportive and proud of me for doing it. I did have to have my gallbladder removed afterwards so it could happen. -

I'm the same way. Some days I can eat more than others. And I can't eat much in the mornings.
