Do they put you to sleep?

Yeah he said if it is a stricture it will get worse and eventually I won't be able to get in liquids and I will get dehydrated. He doesn't want me to let it get to that point. He said to try soft foods and if I have issues call him. What do they do if it is a stricture?

I finally called the doctor and he asked if I was getting down liquids and I said yes. He wants me to try to eat some soft foods (deli turkey cheese) and see if I hurt with that. If I do he wants me to call him and meet him at hospital. Please pray I will be fine. I haven't even tried any real foods since I got sick on Tuesday.

I'm at four weeks and have lost 26 pounds. I think you're doing great. At least I hope you are because then we're both doing great!!!

I know it's different but I'm 4 weeks post op and everything hurts me. I feel your pain.

I'm going to see how I feel tomorrow. If my chest still feels this way I'm going to call my surgeon. Thanks for replying. How do they know if you have one? Is there a test or something?

Well I don't know what's up but probably not a stricture. I just tried a Popsicle again and this time it went down fine. It's just the food I can't eat ???????

I wasn't completely helpless but I needed help getting on and off the bed couch was ok. I'm nearly 4 weeks post op and I still sleep on couch. I needed help tying my left shoe or reaching things on the floor. My hubby helped me wash for 2 days after i got home. I feel like a wimp. I always thought I was strong but I've had some pain with this that makes it difficult to do somethings. Just remember everyone is different and surgery affects everyone differently. Yes but they know I have a strict diet due to surgery. So they just assume I'm losing because I'm eating so little. Also I'm always doing one type of diet or another I've dropped and gained weight so many times in the 14 years I've been there no one thinks anything about me on the "lose" again. They probably think I'm like Kirstie Alley up down up down up down. Lol

That's all my work knows too. They know I had surgery to fix my acid reflux and a hernia. I walk around the building several times a day and I walk outside everyday at lunch. Nobody has even asked me why I'm walking.

Oh wow that's the feeling I started feeling yesterday

Yes I sleep on heating pad every night. It's like I'm having 3 different pains. A sharp pain in my left side I can only describe as it feels I've been stabbed. My back in that same left side area just aches and now the cramping. I just want to cry. I've lost nearly 30 lbs but I don't know that this pain is worth it. I'm so tired of hurting. I don't even know how to describe how sick of it I am. I feel like I can't do anything. I can't concentrate on work because I hurt I can't do housework because I hurt I can't play with my kids because I hurt. It hurts to drive it hurts to sit. I'm in the least pain when walking so I've been trying to do that but I am just miserable. I feel like a wimp like a desperate whiny baby. But I AM desperate for relief!!!

Somebody help me. I'm 3 weeks 4 days post op and my left side and back are still killing me. My doctor said it was because of the big stitch on the inside in the left where they did most if the work and when it dissolves (4-6 weeks) the pain will go away. Now yesterday my stomach is hurting worse but differently. Not only do I have the pain on my left side now I'm severely cramping like as if I had menstrual cramps or diarrhea. I don't have either. I am so sick of hurting. I am getting severely depressed.

I need to know the same thing. The lowest I found for non fat Greek yogurt was still 7g of sugar per serving. Is that a lot? Is there a sugar free/fat free Greek yogurt?

I had one week clear liquid one week full liquids four weeks soft foods. At six weeks I'm supposed to be able to eat regular foods.

Did you weigh right before and right after? I went in weighing 237 but gained up to 250 because of all the fluids and stuff. It took me like 5 days just to get back to the 237 and then start losing.
