My doctor definitely says no so I'm not eating it but I guess every doctor is different. I love past and it sure sounds good. I just don't think it would be good for me. -

I like tuna but hate mayo or must. Before surgery i would eat it plain but I'm afraid it would be too dry now. Any suggestions ? -
I'm very proud for you. I agree we have to learn to live like normal healthy weight people. Everyone is different. I am like you. I don't want to live so strict that one day I totally blow and eat everything. So I will allow myself a treat now and then. If you're "treat" is something with less that 8g of sugar, you are most likely still making a better choice than before!!! Some people need to live by rules and NEVER indulge and that's ok. I respect their way of doing it as well. Every person is different and every doctor is different. I have learned not to be judgmental after spending so much time being judged for being fat. You are doing awesome!!! I hope to be as successful as you.

Not getting enough Protein
Jessica9190 replied to sapperwife26's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I'm right there with you but I've been trying to force myself. No Protein can lead to hair loss tooth decay and muscle loss to the point you can barely stand. Protein is very important. I'm sure there are many more side effects but those were enough for me. I'm sick to death of those shakes but trying. I have found some Greek yogurt that has 13 grams of protein for 5 oz so I've been eating a lot of that. Good luck to both of you. -

Protein help again
Jessica9190 replied to Jessica9190's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found a yogurt I love. It's yoplait Greek fat free. It has 13g of Protein, only 7g of sugar(my NUT said stay under14g sugar) It's really good and helps me get in my protein without so much of the yucky shakes and I can have it now while I'm still on soft mushies. I still have a ways to go but making progress a little at a time. -
Protein help again

Totally understand. I did the same thing. I made my husband try it too and he hasn't had any surgery and said that one was bad. -
Can someone tell me the symptoms of a stricture? I am almost 4 weeks post op. I have been on soft foods for 2 weeks. My first week of soft foods I ate laughing cow cheese, turkey n cheese roll up, eggs, string cheese, and turkey chili. They were all very small amounts and I ate very slowly and chewed well and things seemed ok. This 2nd weekend of soft foods has been completely opposite. I can't eat any of those things no matter how slow or how little. The first very well chewed bite sits in my chest and hurts so badly I don't eat. Today was worse. Today I tried a chicken soup (no pasta) and after like three very spread out chewed bites my chest was killing me. I mean I couldn't breathe and I was hurting so bad. I tried to walk it off but finally ended up running to bathroom throwing up. (My first time) Afterwards I felt better but now it hurts even eating my Popsicle. Do I have something wrong or is my body just trying to recuperate from today's episode? What's even worse is for the past 4 weeks I have been in so much pain on my left side and today (up until my episode) was my first day without pain. Am I a paranoid hypochondriac? Or is it possible something is wrong? Yeah I haven't had a huge problem until today but I haven't been able to eat anything for a week because it gets stuck. Is a stricture a lot worse than my symptoms and if I had one I'd definitely know it or is it like what I'm experiencing? Opinions and advice are appreciated.
