    Unflavored Protein Powder?

Is it just me or is that stuff expensive? I mean $22.95 for 17 scoops and it says 4 scoops a day. So every four days another $22.95?

    Bcbs

There are many different BCBS plans. Each one varies and you have to call. Some have exclusions specifically against it and some have requirements and restrictions.

Use Your First Six Months Wisely

To the op-I don't have any problems with anything you've said. I still think your original post was meant to warn people the first six months is the prime time to lose and not waste it. I don't think you have "issues". I don't even know you and I am in no position to judge that. I am not a psychologist nor psychiatrist. Having said that we are all different people with different opinions and different doctors. While I don't agree with every detail I appreciate your thoughtfulness of the "six month warning". I think your intentions were to be helpful. I'm sorry your post has been taken so offensively. I do have one question. I noticed on other posts you struggle with hair loss still. (I guess that would prove you didn't do this for vanity) Do you think that could be due to your restrictive diet?

I Had A Breakdown At Work Today

Thanks y'all. That's why I keep coming to this forum-for the positive support from everyone. One of my good friends just had a grand baby girl and she brought her to work and wanted to take my picture with her and I relented and took the darn picture lol. What an accomplishment!!!

I Had A Breakdown At Work Today

I just had a horrific experience at work. October is breast cancer awareness so today our whole department wore pink. They all wanted to take a picture and I was mortified. I kept saying, "I don't want to." and they kept pushing. Finally, I think one of the girls understood and said, "don't worry about it, we'll do it later" and they all walked off. Maybe she could see the tears in my eyes because when they left I just lost it. Then one girl starts hugging me saying, "Jessica, you're pretty no matter what." I'm sure she means well but that doesn't help. I'm 5'7" and weigh 245. I have gained so much weight in the last six months (like 65-70 lbs) and I hate myself and the way I look. I feel like everyone is staring at me and thinking I'm such a pig. I try not to eat in front of anyone because I'm always worried they're thinking "why is she eating? she's so fat." I am so tired of battling my weight. I've gained and lost 60-90 pounds several times of the last 8 or 9 years and I'm just miserable. It hurts so much and I know it's my own fault but it still hurts. I just hate what I've become. This is the only place I feel people might understand. I called my husband because I got so upset and I told him what happened and he said, "ok, baby." He totally doesn't get it. I just feel I don't have anyone that understands, but y'all do right?

Grrrr. This Part Is So Stressful!

@tutu Oh cool. I had to actually get records from my obgyn as well because my heaviest weight of 2011 from my PCP was barely 200. Luckily I had gone to my obgyn and had the 216. I just bounced around a lot. Good luck to u and keep me posted

George R. Merriman 2; Shreveport, La

I went to Dr. Merriman for a preop consultation. I liked the doctor ok but he did not have much bedside manner. He was very knowledgeable though. However I did not feel his Staff was very cordial. And I wanted to look around just to be for sure. I ended up going with Dr. James Davidson in Dallas but i wont have surgery until december. So far the experience has been so much better when I call I don't feel like a burden I don't feel Like I'm rushed. They really want to help. I don't have anything bad to say about that Merriman but I did feel very rushed and I did feel he was annoyed with my numerous questions. I live in the middle so it's the same distance either way. Also as I researched I could not find much info about Dr. Merriman there was nothing negative but there just wasn't much and in the sleeves he has only done in the hundreds as opposed to the other doctors who have done in the thousands those were my reasons for choosing Dr. James Davidson I wish you the best of luck in whatever choice you make

Grrrr. This Part Is So Stressful!

Ok I got my records. 2009-238 lbs BMI 39.6 2010-241 lbs BMI 40.1 2011-216 lbs BMI 35.9 2012-257 lbs BMI 42.8 I was just recently diagnosed with hypertension because my blood pressure is somewhat high. I'm so worried and nervous I won't be approved. I mean all my weights show a BMI of over 35 but I didn't until now have any comorbidities. Anyone have any words of wisdom for me here?

Use Your First Six Months Wisely

Maybe the op didn't say EXACTLY what everyone on here agrees with but the op does has some valid points about the first six months being the prime time to lose. I have never exercised for four hours and most likely never will but I'm not going to laugh and scoff at the op for making those comments. I'll just know that I'm not taking that route. I think the op's intentions were positively encouraging. I believe the point was to make the first six months the best with the most effort. I appreciate everyone on here who takes the time to offer their experiences and what has worked or not worked for them. Thank you to all.

    Unbelievable Story!

Like I said I don't really have any expertise on any of it was just offering what I've been told. I hope all of it is wrong and the size of your stomach doesn't matter and you lose like crazy. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!!!

    Unbelievable Story!

I don't want to say anything negative and I certainly don't know everything especially since I haven't even been sleeved yet but I've been to two different surgeons for pre op consultations and both use 32-36 bougie. They both showed slides in their seminar where studies have shown 40+ bougies have virtually no affect on the patient. It sounds consistent with what you are saying. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I think you may have to work that much harder or possibly ask him to make it smaller My doctors also said the smaller the bougie the greater the risk of complications of a leak. Maybe your doctor was playing it safe. I don't know all the answers but I thought I'd mentioned what I've learned from my doctors. Good luck and I'm sorry you aren't getting the much desired results of the sleeve.

    Insurance Will Start In Jan

It depends. Have you been to the doctor about your obesity already? Have you been advised to do something about it? If so it could be considered pre existing and have a 12 month waiting period or excluded all together.
  22. I'm 5'7" and I weigh 239 and I am wearing size 16/18. The lowest I've been in my adult life was about 170 and I was in tight size 8 but mostly 10s. I don't know what I need to weigh maybe 135 but I'd like to get down to a 4 or 6. That may be impossible but I'm going to try. Surgery isn't until December.
