I am a 41 year old married mother of 2. I have been a nurse for 20years. I have been considering lap band surgery for the last 3-4years but always thought I could do it on my own. I started on the lap band journey in October and went to my 2nd apt yesterday. I am now waiting for insurance approval. The Doctor that I picked has a great reputation amoung the nurse's that work with him so I decided to use him. Since my first visit I got the impression that he was trying to convince me to have gastric sleeving. On my second apt yesterday he tried to talk me into it. It has been hard enough to make the decision to have a band let alone to have my stomach taken off. He put me in for lap band but told me he would like me to consider lap band with plication. I have been researching this option and am thinking about it. Well that is my story. Hope all goes well.
3/27-Well since this time my story has changed I did change my mind and decide to have the sleeve. Through my own research and throught talking to others who have had both surgeries I have decided the sleeve is best for me. So 2 more days till surgery!
