(laughing) I do wish that when people post they put how long they've been banded. Fair or not, I would struggle taking advice from anyone with minimal life experience w/ the band. I always warn people to focus on WHO is giving the advice just as much as the advice being given. I'm laughing at this too. Only 10 months here and consider myself a newbie even after reaching goal and a revision under my belt. At a couple months out I thought I knew everything and was giving out advice right and left. I can only hope the people receiving it didn't take it as gospel. Live and learn!

usually before but it depends on what it is. it might be a food that needs to be cooked first like squash is hard so needs to be cooked before mushing. did you have something in mind?

If food is going through easily then my opinion is it's not sitting in the pouch long enough to cause any stretching. But that is just my opinion.

Band removed (what diet should i try)
feelinggood replied to polly2107's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are right back where you started before you had the band. It's HARD to be disciplined without the help of the band. Best thing is to try to stick with the band diet. 1/2 to 1 c of food at meals, protein first, good veggies next. Lots of fluids. Get some counseling, exercise, find an outlet. Good luck! -
Spent the last couple of days reading through posts from here, fb, oh, tt, etc.. Why is it that some people on social media sites are so sensitive about other people's comments? Just some examples: I thought this was a support site, why are you being so mean? I don't like this group because someone was cursing. I was just asking if it was ok to have a cocktail and eat a pizza at 2 weeks out, why is everyone being so negative? I don't mean to be insensitive but this just drives me batty! It's not like we are one big happy family. And if we were, family can say a lot worse things then what I've read on these sites. Ok that's it. Feel better now.

What not to say to somebody who is getting a band...
feelinggood replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in Rants & Raves
i had to laugh at all the posts here cause can relate so much to many of them. dad is the weight police, mom still trying to shove food down me cause she misses her eating partner, sister still in competition and has turned to bulimia to catch up, other sister is awesome and sends me a shipment of new clothes at least once a month (i'm like her new dress up doll, lol!). -
Glad to hear you are feeling better. Sometimes it's just something small that can be easily taken care of. Always contact doctor whenever in doubt!

What ifood is good and bad to eat after lapband,
feelinggood replied to Yadiordz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep this is a life long adventure so depriving yourself of something you want won't last long. It's all about portions but be careful with them because higher calorie food is what caused our weight to get out of control. -
you can have soup but should be strained of anything else in it.

Hopefully your doctor has an after hours number you can call if you need to. In the mean time... Your episode very likely caused some swelling around the band area so just take it very easy tonight. Warm tea with honey or chicken broth and tiny sips. Hope you feel better!
