Fills after surgery in Mexico?
feelinggood replied to Bandakat412's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Check with your patient coordinator where you had your lapband done. They should be able to provide you with a list of doctors in your area who will do your fills. -
My Husband told me he would rather put our $ into patio- Am I Selfish?
feelinggood replied to RwSample's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IMHO you should spend the money on lapband then save up for a divorce lawyer! -
Thanks lapbandanna. She definitely has problems and I am happy for her that she is losing weight. I've been living with her little digs most of my life and I know better than to let her get to me. On the other hand my other sister is awesome and very supportive.

Protein Shakes After Full Healing?
feelinggood replied to solson8201's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i drink my breakfast because band is tight in the morning. that is the only meal i use protein replacement. it doesn't keep me full near as long as dense protein. -
that does not sound good. you might want to go to ER to be safe. if you are not able to then take some tums or something similar to get some relief for the acid and get into to see your surgeon pronto!

Yes i agree. Keep experimenting. There are a lot of recipes here on this forum you might want to take a look at. It is a learning experience for all of us and same old food day in and day out gets boring.

Thanks for the encouragement! I can't believe I am 55 years old and still let this type of stuff get to me. I think I won't invite her back for a long time, lol.

When you are doing all the right things the weight WILL come off. Be patient with the scale. Fat turns to liquid before it is expelled so it is not instantaneous. Drink plenty of water - it will help.

Struggling More Than Ever...
feelinggood replied to CCornell87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so glad you went back for a fill. I know it can be embarrassing and hard to admit breaking the rules. Head hunger is a nasty "b***h" and we need to fight back! This is a new start for you so take control and stomp that "b***h" out! -

feelinggood replied to Omfgmelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What is it with Dad's? Mine is the weight and food gestapo and I am 55 years old. Go to the gym and work off some of that hurt and anger. You will feel much better! -

Mine is 4cc done in Mexico. Though I understand there is a higher complication rate I haven't had any problems. Good luck to you! -
One year , 115 lbs
feelinggood replied to Staceyb2121's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations you did good!!! -
I have similar feelings. After having lost 57 pounds since Jan all I can see is my new turkey neck, bat wing arms, saggy stomach, and jelly thighs. I am ecstatic about the weight loss but still have 43 pounds to go and hard to picture what these areas will look like then. I never realized how much gravity can affect us. I am already saving to take care of these side effects . The good is that I have had a lot of NSV's. Can now take a bath without getting stuck getting out, I can sit in a chair with arms, my clothes are all falling off, I have a lot more energy, can walk up my stairs without getting winded, the list goes on.

I have a million dumb questions
feelinggood replied to colorado_chick's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First - congratulations on taking this big step. I'll try to answer from my own experience. 1. You mom will not be able to go into the operating room with you. I don't know how many people were in mine because I was already sedated but I assume it would be the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and surgical nurse. 2. No chance of you waking up during surgery. 3. They will have a gown for you that you wear during the surgery. Bring some loose fitting close to wear home. 4. You will feel a bit groggy when you wake up but it doesn't last. They will give you probably some ice chips. You may have some pain in your left shoulder from the gas they use to blow up the stomach so you will want to have some gas-x strips. It may last several days. 5. Not hard to walk to the car. They will make sure you are up walking before they release you. 6. Have some liquid aspirin to take at home. Pain will not be unbearable but will be uncomfortable. 7. Some people do get nauseated from anesthesia but it's just a small percent of people. You should feel comfortable talking to your surgeon on his office about any questions you have. They will give you instructions before you leave the hospital. You will be fine. Best of luck. -
Congratulations!

Don't beat yourself up. I go out to lunch every Friday with people from work and I know that no matter what I order, even if it's fish, is going to be more calories the way they cook it than I do. I eat what my band will allow and take the rest home for dinner. That is my day of splurge. Cheers...

I tried so many and have a cabinet full of protein powders. I finally settled on Premier (Chocolate) from Costco. Didn't love it the first time I tried it but it is now the only one I can stomach.

Problems eating in the morning
feelinggood replied to HYAC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been banded 4 months now and have not been able to eat until late morning. I think it's pretty normal. No idea why.
