About to try my second weight loss surgery. I felt really bad when my gastric bypass from 2005 started to fail after I lost 160 lb. Now I know I'm far from the only one who has had problems with this surgery. Not that I'm knocking it... but there are things I wish I knew when I first got the surgery. Like "after care and nutritional support is MANDATORY" and "DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES drink alcohol!" Live and learn. Anyone who wants to know the details is welcome to ask!

After my first weight loss I also had a tummy tuck, with some complications. So anyone interested can ask me about that as well.

Now I am about to get lap-band surgery (Jan 9/13) as a sort of revision of the gastric bypass. Apparently they can install a lap-band around the gastric pouch formed by the gastric bypass, it's just a bit more difficult, according to the surgeon. He said to me "if I get in there and I can't do it, I won't." I figure if I can lose 160 lb. and keep it off for 5 years, I can do it again. Now I'm at 235 lb and I want to get back to 135-140 and stay there. With the years of aftercare and free fills offered by the clinic I have chosen, I feel I have at least a fighting chance. GO ME! :)
