One of my small victories since being banded

Great job! Thanks for sharing! -
Do you ever wish you could eat "normal" again?
KAATNS replied to ivyh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm learning to love the new "normal." I DO NOT miss big girl clothes, all the medications and looking miserable in pictures! Do I miss pizza and and cheeseburgers? Not really. There's something about feeling better and looking better that just isn't worth that pizza anymore. -
I love my Nikes, but I have read that Brooks are good running shoes. I would recommend a specialty store if you are serious about it and have then fit you with the best running shoe you can afford. Congrats to you!

You're doing great!!

I feel your pain! Just remember that you're doing this for YOURSELF and if someone cannot be supportive of that, they can hit the road. You DESERVE to be healthy, treated with respect and be supported. Don't settle for anything less than that. Keep doing your thing girl. You are WORTH IT!

I've been seeing this on FB and I'm tempted too.

When does hair loss start?
KAATNS replied to drehn88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
MIne started shortly after surgery, but has slowed down quite a bit now. I'm six months post-op. -
Surgery clearance letter from primary
KAATNS replied to culverhouse5's topic in Insurance & Financing
The doctors I manage will just do the pre-op exam/testing based on what the surgeon is requiring. Unless you have a cardiac history, it seems that another EKG would be unnecessary. Just my opinion. I would just make an appointment for the pre-op exam then question the need for another EKG and blood tests directly with your PCP. Make him/her explain to you why its necessary. Good luck! -

Is your surgeon requiring a pre-op EKG and blood work? If not, he should just examine you and complete the required paperwork regardless of his personal opinion regarding lap band. -
How many interesting people have you missed out on meeting?

Hello and welcome!

It's all about making good food choices and following your doctor's post-op plan. Hopefully the band will help you feel satisfied longer and you will make good food choices. I would recommend that you start tracking your calories on My Fitness Pal or another app to stay within your doctor's guidelines. For me, the band helps keep me satisfied for longer periods of time and I don't really have the need to feel "full" anymore. Everyone is different though. Best wishes to you! Wishing you a speedy recovery.

How much weight should i be loosing, post op?
KAATNS replied to troy_r's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're doing great! Actual weight loss varies from person to person, but keep in mind it is possible to gain a little post-op during Bandster Hell, which is pretty normal according to my doctor. Just hang in there and don't give up. Congrats on your new journey! -
Did you enjoy your vacation?? That's what is important, not the number on the scale. Today is a new day friend.
