I don't have a cookbook per se, but I get ideas online at www.hungrygirl.com and www.skinnytaste.com quite a bit.

7 months post-op and I sometimes have a problem with chicken, eggs, sushi and shrimp. Not always though, it literally changes day to day.

can anyone clarify..
KAATNS replied to Georgia_Peach's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately, every doctor has different pre-op requirements. I would check with your doctor's office just to be sure what they recommend. Best wishes to you!! -
Nothing. You are doing great! Keep tracking your calories, exercise and drink plenty of water. Your body is still healing at this point so don't worry about the scale too much right now. You got this.

So what brought you down this road??
KAATNS replied to skb123's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My daughter was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 and I decided to quit my job to stay home and care for her. During that time I became very depressed and began using food to help ease the pain. After 4 years of this behavior, I couldn't even recognize myself in photos, developed pre-diabetes and was taking multiple medications for blood pressure. Last year I finally decided to take my life back and I couldn't be happier. My daughter's cancer is in remission and she is now a 2nd grade teacher and I'm healthier than I have been in years. I feel very blessed. -
LOL I was wondering that too especially with the full body scanners, but I've been on 6 flights since the end of June with no problems at all. I do get pretty tight when flying so be prepared for that. Have fun!

Insurance Exclusion \ exception Question
KAATNS replied to Staci Wiederstein's topic in Insurance & Financing
Typically if it's specifically excluded the insurance company won't budge. But who knows...maybe you'll get lucky. I guess it woudn't hurt to try, but I would be surprised if they change their exclusion policy. I would have a back-up plan in place if you're seriously considering WLS. Good luck!! -
I totally get it and you are most definitely not alone! I have no words of wisdom or advice, but just know that I have had similar feelings. I'm hoping that once I reach my goal and learn to live successfully with my band, those thoughts will fade and I can really get busy living. For now though, I NEED to stay "obsessed" with all things weight related in order to stay focused while still trying to live a little. It's a balancing act for sure. I am going through my journey alone so it's great that you have someone wonderful at home to support you. Anyway....congrats on your loss and best wishes on your continued success.

I will look you up!

Great job friend!

Please don't be too embarrassed to ask for help. That's what the doctors are there for. Are you tracking calories? Sounds like you're getting back on track with exercise and water and that's great, but please go see your doctor. Best wishes to you!

What an amazing loss! Way to go! -
I think mine is slow, but I figure a slow loss is better than no loss. I've lost 40 pounds in 7 months.
