After hearing from my Dr's office that they have found Untied healthcare to be rather picky, with a rash of recent denials, they sent my paperwork over at 4:45pm on Feb 11th. This morning I receive a phone call telling me that my insurance has approved me! I am so excited!!!!!!

Is it worth joining? I read a lot of post where it is mentioned, so i am just wondering.

Wow!!....I was banded on March 13th and I developed the same thing! Boy does it itch!
-
On a whim, I just weighed myself.. I have lost 13lbs since my March 6th pre-op. I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!

The surgery went well and the doc repaired a MASSIVE hernia....the surgical nurse said that it was the largest she had ever seen...that made me feel all warm an fuzzy...LOL I must admit that I had two days of "OMG...What the h*ll did I do to myself?!?!" But I am starting to feel a lot better....no fill yet, but I am on creamy soups, etc until Wednesday and let tell you, it does not take much to fill me up. I totally think I can do this!

it was hiatal.......I think that is what has made recovery a bit tough. The funny thing is it didn't even show up on he barium swallow.
-
I am getting ready to head to the hospital. Check in time is 8am and surgery is at 10:30 unless someone cancels. I can't believe this day is finally here. Wish me luck!

Day One of Pre-Op Diet...help?
Matahari replied to Shelleymb's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day 4 of seven and I am actually starting to feel really good. My energy has picked up and I am not really bothered by the rest of the family eating pizza....but banana flavored sugar free popsicles are my friend at the moment! -
Well...it is the ene end of day 2 of my 7 day pre-op diet. I have a slight headache and a bit more tired then usual, but other then that I am doing ok....using my down time to get the house cleaned up a bit so I am not tempted to do to much after my March 13th banding.

Yup.....It was one of the requirments for my doc.....but I only have to do one week of pre-op diet, so I guess it equals out. LOL. -

March 2013 Surgery Dates?
Matahari replied to ShannaS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today I had my pre-op testing for my March 13th surgery date, and let me tell you that the only thing that did not enjoy was the barium swallow....YUCK! You think that science would be able to make that stuff taste a bit better. -
I can relate. My date is March 13th and I am getting nervous.
-
I spoke with the surgeon's office today and I have a surgery date of March 13th at 10:30am. I am WAY excited, but it seems that I am also a bit scared , now that I know that it is really happening. I keep asking myself...Am I doing the right thing? Will it actually work? Will I be able to stay on track? Both my husband and Dr keep telling me that everything will be fine and to stop worrying....and deep down inside I know that I can do this...that I will rock this band!
-
Good Luck! I was told that the reason the others were denied was due in part to their BMI dropping below 35 at some point during that 5 year weight history.
-
Well, My consultation went great and the office sent over my paperwork to United Healthcare for consideration......fingers crossed I will hear some good news soon!
-
And I got my approval in just 7 days!!!! I am super excited!!!
-
Hi! I'm Deborah...I have been lurking in the forums for a bit now and finally took the pludge and scheduled my first consult appointment with Dr Lusco for January 31st! I kept putting it off until I found that my insurance-United HealthCare via UPS covers lapband surgery and they only require the usual BMI and 5 year history of weight issues...YAY!!! Thanks to everyone for great information I have received so far...I hope i don't wear out my welcome by asking too many questions! LOL
-
Well, I had my consultation with Dr Lusco and it went well.....since we have a history (he removed my gall bladder and did my GI scope) the appt was only about 45 minutes long. On to the next step!!!
-
Well, tomorrow I officially start my journey. My consultation is at 8:30am! *WOOT* I am rather excited....can you tell? LOL
