It's obvious that Jamie likes Sevilla's cuisine! I had a similar experience at a great restaurant. I ate an eggplant appetizer, asparagus salad, and a 6 oz Filet. I was full, but it all went down without a glitch. I passed on desert!

We are at the Mexico docs mercy, but obviously your doctor has no mercy. I, like you, took the chance by going to MX. for surgery, I knew that risk going in, but I've been lucky so far. I feel for you, Lisa. Darcy, girl you are worrying me too. Please don't try to ignore pain. It is your body's way of telling you to pay attention because something is wrong. There is no benefit in being long suffering. Insist that they find the cause of your pain. I bet you were very sweet and polite when you were there before, because that's how you are. Sometimes you have to be insistant to get the care you need. I wish I could be there to help you, I'd get their attention. (in a very classy and ladylike way!)

Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear about your losing the band. I feel horrible that you had to go through all of this. I would be in mourning too. I'm glad that you got help when you did, it could have been fatal. God Bless you.

Hey ya'll, I don't mean to sound all hostile and harsh, I just can't stand arrogance from doctors, and I really feel badly for all of you who have been shunned and are in need of care. I , too, was intimidated by doctors at one time. When I started working in the dental profession, I began to realize that we are here to be of service to our patients, without them the doctor is nothing. Changes your perspective.

I don't know if I'm cute as pie, but I like pie! Many times when there is a deep wound they will try to heal it from the inside out. That's why they have you come back over and over to have it packed. Sounds like it is doing it's thing and healing on it's own. I know what you mean Penni. Sometimes I eat alot. Weird, but the junk food never bothers me. Then other times, two or three bites and I'm slimeing like a two year old cutting teeth! I can't eat very much of the solid protiens and salads before I'm done. If I quit eating soft stuff, I know I'll start really dropping.

You know what I think? Many women will know what I'm talking about. Any of you girls know how some men will sort of walk on you until you stand up to them? And suddenly after she has stood her ground, Bamm , the relationship takes a change. That's because he respects her after he finds out that she's not his doormat. That's what I'm talking about! These doctors who are so full of themselves, just need to learn that their patients need respect. They are here only because we need their SERVICES. That is the key word! Lisa, it doesn't make a bit of sense to me either, but there are alot of people who experience the fill that kicks in later. Did you have your fill under fluoro?

I have a non fluoro fill. I went two weeks ago, and he said he put in .8cc. He told me that if I needed more, I could come back and he would add some. Well, I never really felt restricted, so I went back the following week. He attempted to extract the fluid and he said there was none, and that either I had a leak or he missed the port alltogether. I think he missed. Anyway, he put in 1.5 cc and I couldn't get water down. He withdrew it and then placed 1.2cc, I drank water and it went right down. He instructed me to go have some lunch to be sure I could eat , and all was well. It's pretty much trial and error.

Darcy, I think you should tell him what you think. If you want an EGD, he should listen to your input. It's your body, and you are a nurse, and knowledgable about the procedures. It's a scary thing to go to a doctor who is not very familiar with the band. I hate that your surgeon makes you feel like you can't bother him, he's been very well paid for his services. It just ticks my clock when I hear about doctors who are unavailable. You are a very patient patient, I would be in their face!

I'm a Rumbaut girl! I haven't had one single problem. They took excellent care of me, very impressive hospital, flew home 2nd. day after surgery. He was very nice and pleasant, answered all my questions, I didn't feel like he was rushing or self important. I've heard good things about the other 2 surgeons as well, however, the surgical facility in Tijuana is not what I would want .
