<p>Welcome hisuzi:</p> <p> </p> <p>You might want to check with your Doctor regarding the ibuprofin -- mine doesn't want me taking due to the fact it is hard on the stomach -- and being you have a new smaller pouch - you don't want to mess it up.</p> <p> </p> <p>Good luck and keep in touch!</p> <p> </p> <p>Best wishes.</p> <p> </p> <p>Gina</p>

Can I ask WHAT kind of chemicals were you exposed to that your body has stored in your fat cells???
-
I am trying not to snack -- per doctor warning as well. I also limit my Carbs -- so that my blood sugar doesn't go nuts making me have cravings and excessive hunger. I am in the bandster hell --
-
You will need loose fitting clothes -- more not to irritate the stitches - those areas that are very tender. My experience was more like when I get bloated at TOM. Only lasted a few days to week -- the sooner you get the gas out the better you are. Do that by taking DEEP breaths immediately waking up from surgery as much as you can-and walking every hour for 10 minutes or more -- Best of luck to all!
-
I have done the same -- due to getting frustrated after not losing weight for weeks. I have found when I get my daily liquids in (64oz ++); and get 100+gr of Protein and keep Carbs < 70 gr and have 1000ish calories I lose 1 lb. that day --- or so this has been true for the last 5 days. Good Luck!!!!!!
-
I did not stay the night. Got there at 7:30 and was released by 2pm. I am sure you will do great! It will be here before you know it. Gina
-
Dr Terricina - does the first fill 6 weeks after surgery - and only Thursdays. I am out of town that Thursday - so made my appt the next week. Who is your doctor?
-
I had mine outpatient. They asked I be there (7:30am) 2 hrs before surgery (9:30am). They gave me the heparin shot (only 1) didn't hurt - more like a prick. (Left a HUGE BRUISE size of softball) the IV was the part that was uncomfortable going in. I was awake at 11am - spent some time with my husband and then they took me to xray to have the barium swallow - then I go dressed and left the hospital by 2pm. I appreciated being in my own home! Wishing you the BEST!!!! I see it happening - no problems or issues. Keep the faith! Gina
-
Usually the band is placed empty -- no restriction. Try to stay concerned with not eating till you FEEL full --you could be stretching the new pouch. Measure your food and remember not to drink 15 minutes prior to eating or 1 hour afterward. The time till we have from now till our first fills is very challenging and we must have will power -- and be dedicated! Some call it "Bandster Hell" -- Good Luck!
-
I had the same doubts -- it's the pre-banding gitters. I lost 40 something pounds without the band == and having my dh and bil asking -- why don't you just keep doing what you are -- and not get the surgery. The answer is: I can lose weight -- I have done it many times -- I can't maintain my weight loss -- it always comes back! I am getting banded to maintain the weight loss and to be long term successful!!!!!!!!! AND MOST IMPORTANT -- ADD YEARS TO MY LIFE AND BE AS HEALTHY AS I CAN BE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel free to ask questions of me or your doctor- I have of my doctor -- and found lots of information here in LBT and many other sites. If it's too personal to ask here -- feel free to PM me! You will do wonderful - and will be beautiful -- I know this!!!!! Best of Luck! Gina

Oh Tekymom: This is wonderful news. i am praying for your quick healing! Gina

Hi Laura I did have restriction for a little while -- but right now -- not so much unless I eat really dense food. That is the frustrating part I think for all of us. My first fill isn't till 5/31 -- my birthday is the 16th -- so I might go ahead and have that piece of cake. Keeping you in my prayers -- to heal! Good luck at the doctors. Best wishes! Gina

Hi LLSibley-- let me walk you thru the ticker thing. 1. click on someone's ticker - it will take you to the website to create yours. 2. click the box that says: "Create your own ticker" 3. click the "WEIGHT LOSS" or "EVENT" (your choice if you want to track the weight loss or count down to the surgery -- or count from the date you had surgery.) I am going to assume you clicked "WEIGHT LOSS" for the following steps. 4. click the ticker bar you wish to have as yours (there are 13 pages of designs to choose from - to see another page just click the page #) once you have decided - click "NEXT" 5. click the ticker slider you wish to have as yours (there are 7 pages of designs to chose from) once you decided - click "NEXT" 6. complete this page with your options - password; tracking by change of weight or showing actual weight and lbs lost; your target and starting weight; current weight and weight date; your height - click "NEXT" 7. highlight the code in the first box - starts with "[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/..." copy it (right mouse click - copy) 8. goto your "EDIT SIGNATURE" on your lapbandtalk and paste it (right mouse click - paste) 9. preview signature -- then add spaces and additional content as you wish. Let me know if you need more help -- or if you have questions regarding these instructions. Good Luck!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p>

I know of one lady that couldn't find a US doctor due to her BMI/lbs over weight did not qualify. She was 176lbs 5'5" BMI 29. She went to Mexico -- and they did it for her. She had her first fill 4-23. I have read -- BMI 35 or more with other health issues or BMI 40. Some insurances don't allow LapBand if BMI is greater than 50 - go figure ???
-
I went am going thru the same thing. see below - I was losing - then did the preop and continued to lose - then from surgery (4-9) to 4-23 lost 9.4 lbs -- but then stayed stable and then even gained. I went traveling and had more calories - eating more - and I started losing again -- today I am almost back to where I was 4-23. I will go crazy if I stall out there again - or start gaining again! <TABLE style="WIDTH: 358pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=477 border=0 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=4 width=64><COL style="WIDTH: 166pt; Well -- I have moved to the mushies plus... and as you stated - I have gained a few pounds -- not fun! This is depressing and seems not possible considering the extremely few calories I am eating. Thanks for your support! Gina -
My Post-op appt was this past Wednesday. My doctor said at surgery he rinses the band with saline then places 5cc (1/2 full) and places the band on the stomach and then snips the line to attach the port and let's whatever amount wants - run back out. Truly he doesn't know what cc's is left - if all or any -- he said it doesn't really matter - just that the restriction is there. He does his first fills after 6 weeks -- I am scheduled for May 31st. WELCOME HOME TRACY!!!! WE HAVE MISSED YOU!

Bret - thanks for the post -- you provided alot of good information here. I don't get my first fill until 5/31 -- but the more info I find -- the better I will be prepared. I am very impressed with your results -- keep up the good work. I had my first pre-op yesterdaya and lost 9lbs since surgery (16 days) I was disappointed - buy doc says need to bump Protein to 100 gr and due to already lost alot -- it will be slow from here - he is only looking for 2lbs a week. Have a great day! Gina -

Need Help with protein shake.

<p>I buy these Protein Bullets (42gr protein each; 2 = 84gr and 6.2 oz) and mix 2 in 16oz bottle add Water to top -- they count as clear liquid, don't taste bad when dilluted either. Each day your goal is to get this 16oz bottle in (you have meet your protein goal)-- then you can have anything else you desire that you are allowed.</p> <p>************************************</p> <p>go to: your local Vitamin shoppe or http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/search/...intsource=main or call them at 1-800-223-1216.</p> <p> </p> <p>$29.99 for 12 of the 42 gram bullets -- I use 2 a day. I put the 2 of them in a 16oz water bottle - add water to the top and drink a third at B-L-D.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have a coupon -- that the website didn't recognize but I called them and they did honor it -- "Save $10 on any purchase of $50 or more" promo code VSC-3123 -- received it from my doctor's office - it also is a "Supplement and Grocery list for Gastric Bypass Patients." (Feel free to use it as well!)</p> <p>*************************************</p> <p> </p> <p>Let me know how this goes!</p> <p> </p> <p>I have done this since coming home on the 4-9 and don't feel tired or anyother side effects -- I drink this 16oz then concentrate on getting additional 32oz plus of crystal light -- and such.</p> <p> </p> <p>Gina</p> -
Hi everyone! I am still on clear liquids (until doc appt)-- today is day 14 since surgery and only lost 9 lbs -- I really thought I would at least lose a pound a day - so I am a little disappointed about that. I did start back at taking the pain/arthritus medicine & my normal daily vitamin (Centrum Performance) today -- that has helped alot with the way I feel-- I had not had them for 4weeks -- such a big difference. Tracey - I agree with Haydee - I have no problems with sleeping or getting around. I only took the day of surgery off -- It only hurt when I would get up from a sitting position, and of couse - laughing. Wishing you the best! Gina
