Hi Michelle! I have had all my fills under flouroscope - I think there is less chance of issues doing it this way - and they are able to get you close to perfect on fill. They find the port - so no guessing or unecessary pokes - numb me - stick the needle pull out the fluid to measure - then fill me completely (full restriction) - they give me water downed barium solution to drink then they back out the fluid till -just the right speed the solution drains from the pouch to the stomach. They are also able to see the exact position of the band and the size/position of the pouch. I understand you don't know who will do it -- but maybe you can arrange for your normal doctor/pa do do the fill at the hospital. My doctor does mine at the hospital - just a thought! I feel you frustration -- I am down 70lbs but I have 70 lbs more to my first goal -- then most likely another 30. I started exercising again -- today was day 6 -- and attempting to watch my eating ( that is hard as well). Good night!

Welcome Jan to LapBand. You are on the right track! I have a couple of poweraid bottles I use daily to make crystal light tea in and that is my goal/way to measure - drinking 2 of these. Your first steps are wonderful! Best wishes!
-
I have found the lapband is not a FAST process -- slow and steady. I personally count calories and carbs as well as the Proteins. Best wishes!
-
I had all the items you mentioned plus I had a psych eval - had a visit with exercise trainer; nutritionist; support meeting; 2 hour training/educational class. (all above required) I think that was it!

Terry -- Hero and your family are absolutely beautiful. You look wonderful and EVERYONE looks so happy - and as if you have been together forever. I have always been super tight - and to be completely honest -- I am scared not to be as tight as I am. I can eat bread, rice, potatoes, pizza, and of couse - ice cream and chocolate. And yes I know just because I can - doesn't mean I should. I had a fill 1/10th and to 2/22nd I lost 12 lbs -- then even as tight as I am -- From Feb 22 to today, I gained 30 lbs. Good news - I have had 3 good days (lost 3 lbs) - exercised; logging my eatting; eatting 3 meals and 1 snack; staying away from the ice coffee, ice cream, candy and sneaking of food. Although I did overdue it a little today (2 extra snacks:cursing:)-but determined to get back on track tomorrow! Have a good night everyone!

Tracy - I am like that as well - so tight and only thing that goes without a hitch is ice cream. I have found that Instant Carnation Breakfast to be a life savor. Satisfies by ice-cream craving and gets my protein and vitamins. I am jelous when I read about some of my violet sisters eating salad and such - being so tight for the past year plus. Don't get down on yourself -- TOM doesn't last forever and you will be back as new!!!!!!!! I do find I am tighter during the TOM as well.

Ebonie - Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday. Good for you getting into the mindset - you are on your way! Keep us informed how you are doing. Gina

Todays eatting: Carnation Instant Breakfast 4 chicken strips from KFC (2 at lunch - 2 at dinner) 1 fiberOne Pamela - hope you are feeling better. Don't hesitate to go to ER if you think you need to. Laura - you are doing GREAT -- you can do this! Violet power coming your way! TracyinKS -- we have our open enrollment now also -- that reminds me I need to call them and get straight. Haydee - you have such a great attitude and outlook. Someone hits your car and you are ranting and raving -- you just thinking about when you can fit into your schedule to get fixed. Judy -- your neckless is beautiful! Terry does wonderful work.

Terry - congrat's on the new pooch! It is such a wonderful experience having a new addition to the family. We have had our new corgi (10mo's old) for 1 1/2 mo's - and couldn't imagine lie without her! She just finished her time of the month (21 days) - whewww. I am so tired of training pants and onesie's. Pamela - over 2000 posts -- I will never catch you on posts. Have a good night everyone!
-
TracyinKS - my heart goes out to you. Your time will come - be patient. You have come so far and such an inspiration to so many of us -- you are very special! Also on the positive side - Charles seems to have changed his position on this subject! That is worth tons (at least in my household).

Good Evening All! Lots of posts to catch up on -- Kat- good job of setting the record straight at the game. I am so sorry someone stole money from you and making you go through all these hoops! I see everyone is getting back on track - which I have tried as well, sometimes successful - other times not. But I will start with more determination tomorrow! Low Carb -- yes yes yes 64 oz water -- yes yes yes Exercise -- walk, ride, something at least 1 x a day (if not pouring rain). NO SCALES -- I like this idea, It does make or break the issue. Lots of prayers! I am with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TracyinKS – 2 bra’s that is a new one on me. Congrat’s on saving $$ on PS. Judy – That video is great – thanks for sharing – I need the good belly laugh! Haydee – We were without power for 100 hours during Hurricane Isabel – I hated it – I don’t know if I could go longer. It was the worst. We went and checked into a hotel (45 miles away) just to take showers/watch the news and get a hot meal – left our stuff to go back in the morning before check-out to get another news update/shower. We went to our home that night because we were scared someone would breakin – and when we got back to house – we had LIGHTs! Thank goodness. Then the next morning – I went to the hotel to pack our stuff and check-out – they were without power – luckily we had a flashlight so I could see my way up the 3 flights and in the halls to pack. Laura – I am so sorry you are having this back pain – this is supposed to be the best time in your life! I am praying it goes away soon! Michelle – I know you are doing a wonderful job and all will be well with the PTA FF – and when it all over with – take some time for just YOU! You deserve it. Wishing you LUCK. Pamela – I am so jealous – I can’t eat lettuce, or tomatoes – so salad’s is one of those things I miss greatly. I have always used Angel Hair Pasta – that does go down pretty well if I leave the hamburger and mushrooms out of it. I can also eat bread with lots of butter –hmmmm…. Go Figure. Hi Denise – thanks for the email, I will compete tomorrow-Thanks again. JanieBug – how are you doing? Hugs. One of my employees went home Tuesday and found her husband had passed. I heart just goes out to her. He was early 50’s – had a heart attack. Terri – I would love to see your work – what site are you selling at? Sorry about the run-in with co-worker. Maybe all will be better soon. I hope so. Kat - I love reading your posts - :smile2: Have a good night.

I think 4 weeks from the time of YES let's schedule (whether self pay or insurance) is normal, due to the other appts you have prior to surgery: class; support group; dietician; fitness trainer; preOp testing. (That is all I can think of right off the top of my head.)
-
Welcome Ebonie:girl_hug: Bridgette and Ebonie -- don't forget to take some before photo's!!!!!! If you are like me -- you avoid the camera at all cost -- and I found that I had to ask others if they had taken any pictures to find my before pictures. I wish I would have thought about it at the time of surgery! Wishing you both well!!!!!!!!!!!!! G
-
Welcome to band land! Just get in diet mode -- for the first 6-8 weeks and then it will pass soon and you will know that the difference with this diet -- you will keep off the weight. G

Let your fingers do the walking - call around to all the offices and ask the question --they can transfer your records I believe -- or at least I would hope! Good luck! -
lap band after gastric bypass????
GR8 replied to Maryjb's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have heard it is quite common for Gastric Bypass patients to have lapband afterwards. Good luck to you! -
I take 8 oz of Water (in 16 oz water bottle) and add my 42 gr bullet -- then drink half at one meal and half at another. Helps tremendously. You can freeze slightly for the slushy effect.
-
Suzie -- I found your 2 lbs on my scale. Today I started (trying) to be back on track as well and I come here and see it was a starting day for quite a few of us! Haydee - glad to hear you are back.

I don't use smaller utensils. Just me - maybe I should.
