Well so far so good. I had the fill on Friday and I have eaten very little. I am making sure to get enough protein and liquids but I have very little appetite. If it stays like this I know i will be seeing some changes on the scale as I can easily resist food like I did the first week after surgery! This is how I envisioned it would be with the lapband and if I find my appetite really coming back strong, I will not wait so long next time for another fill. :whoo::whoo::whoo:

Oh man, I JUST saw this, I would love to have met with you all! I'm in the Bethany Beaverton/NW Portland Area.

Well I read your posts, I read alot of stuff and just don't respond as I try to take in as much as I can in the short period of time I can when I get a break from my 3 year old! LOL You may try another small fill to get those last few lbs, but honestly you look GREAT and those last few may be hard due to the fact that you are just so close. I just had more (fill) put in today - i'm at 2.8cc in a 4cc band now and I'm curious to eat a meal to see if I can tell a difference or not but I have to do 24 hours of liquids thru tomorrow afternoon before I will know....

Hey that sounds interesting! Passports huh? Hey can you check on mine when you start please? It's been 12 weeks....LOL good thing we were able to go online and show proof we applied because our vacation is already over! Good luck, I hope it turns out to be interesting and the days fly by!

I have a question and i've searched and cannot find this, but I have had some issues with food sticking at times....I cannot visualize where it sticks at? IT's usually one of my first bites and it's usually something dry like bread or rice so i'm thinking it can't be because i'm full. Is it sticking in the space where the food passes through the band? HOw can I avoid this from happening since I do not drink with my meals? i've tried chewing it up very well but sometimes it JUST happens and its so uncomfortable...any advice is welcome.

Good job! That is definitely a NSV! Yes I would be happy with a 1-2 lb a month weight loss too...ANYTHING would be better than what i've had...nothing...:omg:
-
My clothes are fitting better actually, I have lost a couple of inches...which is weird considering i'm at the SAME weight for over 2 months! I don't have alot of restriction though and I do feel hungry alot-although it varies day to day...like this am for instance I had a protein shake with my cup of coffee and by 11am I was starving so I had a piece of cheese and a bottle of water...normally this would hold me over until a late 1:30-2pm lunch but I was starving again by 1pm so I had a bowl of cereal.

cool! Good for you, I want one too! I have to wait though I'm paying off our cruise from the first of August....so will have to wait a couple of weeks... Patience is sooo hard. You deserve it though you work soooo hard!

sheesh you're really kicking butt..no pun intended! Good for you!

Where does the food stick at??
Mischievous1 replied to Mischievous1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't voice this well...I rarely eat bread but I was trying to give some examples of the dryness factor....argh sometimes I simply cannot put into words what i'm thinking. Some of the foods that are normally getting stuck are chicken, tuna and/or ground beef without sauces. Others are apple and pear-which really surprised me! -

I agree on avoiding bread and rice, which I have LEARNED I don't need anyway, but I also have a problem with chicken breast and other Proteins I do need to eat and I try to keep them at a more liquid -moist consistency, but adding sauces can be high in calories so i'm working on this. I don't think I have much restriction as I can still eat Quite a bit but do experience the stuck episodes at times and they are NOT fun!! Thanks for the input. -
OMG that is so NOT worth it! I'd head over to WalMart if my job was that stressful! LOL...i'm an assistant to a VP at a hi tech company so it gets a little stressful, but right now i'm on a 2 month sabbatical (we get one every seven years fully paid to keep us "fresh") so i'm really enjoying myself, but i'm thinking wow wouldn't it be great to work for a school and have every summer off?? Wow started rambling there didn't I? Well good for you for choosing life over that job and I hope you find one that treats you like a human being that you enjoy!

I think many of us are praying for you...you want it so badly and it's not that often we get to see people that excited for a job! I threaten to quit my job often so it's good to see someone so excited for a new one. Good luck!!

Audree, I'm here, I lurk daily just don't post I think i'm in a "funk" because I keep seeing people who have only been banded for a month or two and are down 40-50 lbs and I feel so defeated! NSV for me recently though....I went on a week's vacation Cruise (which means food and ice cream galore) and didn't gain an ounce! I have a few "stuck" episodes in front of the stepkids who don't know i'm banded, but just told them I ate too big of a bite and didn't chew well enough and they are too self absorbed (they are teenagers) so didn't question it. This week i'm going to focus on exercise, getting more water and protein and see if it makes the scale move...I also have an appointment for my 3rd fill on Friday so hopefully that will get some things moving. In the meantime I keep lurking and getting motivation off of these great victories from everyone on here and praying that I see some changes and start to feel better and healthier and can spend more time with my 3 year old. Renee:faint:

Denise we are both struggling for each pound, it is so hard when you see everyone on this forum losing like crazy and we just DON'T! I hope you see some progress with your next fill. (I go in on Friday for my 3rd fill and hopefully I will see some downward movement on the scale too)...keep me posted on your progress.

I like the thought of checking at work too...someone on here said they stand and fidget more to watch their calories burn faster but I don't have the ability while on conference calls to see my calorie burn but If I could -- I would do it just to watch the calories burning off by the second and it would definitely make it so that you are more aware of this happening:clap2:! It would be worth an extra $100.

Hey aren't you kinda young to be having a midlifecrisis? LOL You're only a couple years older than I and I still think of myself as young! My late 50's are when I plan on having my midlife crisis....:whoo:
-
My experience was great, I was nervous, but I was well taken care of and you will be too! Enjoy your stay there it will go fine!
-
Congrats on your NSV!! I have never heard of the FAR Infrared Sauna, what is it and what does it do?
-
I'm not doing good and getting depressed as I always do when I try and nothing happens...the only difference now is that I can't eat to "ease" my pain...LOL I'm wearing my bodybugg and journalling everything and i'm eating an average of 1450 calories a day and burning an average of 2800 calories a day. I know I should be losing and i'm NOT! I have been trying to drink more water and have been doing that faithfully but just can't seem to get the scale moving. I had lost some inches the week b4 last, but no more inches and no pounds are coming off these past two weeks....argh.:sick I'm just sick with it all...

Sometimes when I lay on my left side at just an angle it is sensitive, but I wouldn't call it pain.
