Thank God for men who like women with some softness to them! I don't want to be a total skin and bones woman and neither does my husband....sounds like yours' are the same way!! God Bless!

    Lower BMI'ers--2008!!!

I'm with you. I haven't lost any weight since September. It is depressing, but the good news is that I put on a couple of pounds over Christmas just to have it fall right back off once the fudge was put away! Usually I carry around Christmas from one year to the next and it snowballs....argh. So this is a NSV! We just have to keep on track and not get blue as it will come off eventually.

    For those who have PCOS

Welcome Whimsy, it sounds like you are making good decisions and hopefully once you lose a little you can conceive. I too tried for years and NOTHING...then once I quit trying and wasn't even thinking about it...whammo. She's now three!! Yeah, God Bless.

You are so motivating! It is really hard to get out and exercise after work, it is dark and raining and REALLY cold....I can jump around on my mini trampoline though and run up and down the stairs! I will start, I SWEAR!

I can't eat bread so would have had the same experience on the sandwich, but I can't say I have had the same experiences with the acid feeling. Maybe it is acid? Are you experiencing any heartburn?

YEAH! I'm so happy for you, I have to be really honest that I was very worried about your relationship and how it would affect you two once he found out, but I think you handled it REALLY well and it sounds like this will bring you two closer!! What a blessing! :whoo:

I quit taking Wellbutrin when I was banded as I was afraid to take the pill, but I really miss it...especially this time ofyear. Do you take the XL extended release tab? Have you ever had any issues getting the pill down?

    Newbie from Georgia

Hi, I just found this thread.....I'm PCOS positive....LOL After several years of electrolysis, the best thing that ever happened for me was laser hair removal....then whoops - I fell in love with Mr. Right and decided i wanted children after we were married and was told by my OB/GYN it was going to be difficult. I went on a low carb diet before my wedding to lose some weight and lo and behold I found out I was prego 3 weeks before my wedding (I had no idea as I hadn't had a period in months-maybe even years - I couldn't remember) and now have a beautiful 3 year old daughter) so PCOS has made me fat, given me excess hair, but I seem to have managed to accomplish quite a bit in spite of it. I am noticing that my weight loss is way slower than most on this site, but it was next to impossible before the band. I would spend months at the gym and dieting to only MAINTAIN - now with the band I have lost 30 lbs in 7 months! This is the best thing I have done for myself (and family) and i'm so happy to be here....I look forward to reading more about those of you in similar situations and your struggles with this condition. Renee

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills

Thank you! After reading this I was right and was too tight on my last fill. I was only able to eat liquids, cheetohs (LOL) and ice cream the latter two I tried to resist, but after you can't eat anything solid for a few weeks they become tempting....after this last slight unfill though I am too loose. I need another fill! I will need to schedule one for the first of the year. One thing I am really enjoying right now with this unfill is that I am able to eat salad again....YUM I really missed it! I don't miss bread, pizza, hamburgers - just my salad greens!! Now I can eat them again, but I don't feel like I am eating as small of amounts as I should be with my lapband...I can eat 1.5-2 cups of food at one sitting. Renee

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

LOL...after reading that-I SUPPORT YOUR DECISION!!...LOL You have a hard road convincing him and I can see how you support his passion no matter how expensive and he needs to learn to support yours...and in the long run your passion will help his...(hint, hint) so you go for it and good luck. If you have ANY questions about Dr. Ortiz or the procedure itself, feel free to send me a personal message. I'm rooting for you!!!:clap2:

Have you tallied up your sodium intake? It looks like what you have listed may be on the high side...I too love healthy choice soup and the frozen meals, but when I eat them I tend to hold onto Water weight......

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Not sure it's good to hide it from your DH (he could be your best ally-mine too was all about willpower etc and couldn't understand it at first, but after a heartfelt talk he decided to support me 100% in my decision), but I seem to PB/Slime most when i'm stressed and I've done it at work and when my co-workers catch me running to the bathroom, I later tell them it was stress and that the stress causes me to have issues...sad reality is our jobs are so stressful NO ONE questions it! Another thing you can say is that you have a narrow esophagus or swollen tonsils and it causes you to have issues getting some foods down.:speechles

    Where are my fellow Oregonians?

Or are you referring to the merry town of Portland? LOL I hate driving into downtown... Sarah welcome I'm familiar with Aloha, i'm in the Bethany/185th Ave area...I hope you enjoy our bea-u-ti-ful weather here lately, personally i'm a little chilly right now and pulling out my winter clothes too! Enjoy! I got to Kelly Fitzpatrick for fills, I really like her, but do not have a local surgeon as of yet, I figured I would have to hop a plane to San Diego if I have any complications but mostly just do my best to ensure I do not have any.

Wow you are doing GREAT! I first chose my goal at random at 135 and later changed my mind to 150, I may even change it again for a higher weight as I get closer as everyone I know looks better to me with a little extra weight on (it fills in the wrinkles) LOL Thank you for sharing.

Manatee, What do your numbers below mean? H=High, C=current?, S=? I see that your S is lower than your C so I didn't think they could be current and surgery...thanks...just curious!!

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Nina, You may be surprised at the amount of people who have these now...yes I am in the States, but I was getting a massage the other day and I told my masseuse that I just hit my 30lb mark and he stated he had just hit his 70lb mark for weight loss we congratulated one another and he goes on.."well I have to confess, I have had a little help, I have this device called the LapBand"..I just giggled and made my little confession too, but if he hadn't confessed I would never have known..I mean it isn't something that is apparent by looking at someone and many people are private about them so you may even know someone who has one and hasn't told you...this experience made me wonder how many other people I know who may have one and just didn't make it public. Just food for thought...since I can't seem to fit anymore in my stomach for tonight...LOL
