Best tasting protein shakes
melynie replied to rozypozy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Premier protein shakes are delish -
Maybe someone can answer this for me. Well I'm finishing up all the requirements that had to be completed for my insurance to cover surgery. My husband has to have back surgery soon and I know after my surgery I can't pick up my 2yr old for like a month and my husband can't for longer than that. So my question is does anyone know when everything will expire like the psych visit, seminar, 6 month weight class & dietician visits? I really didn't want to come this far to have do everything all over again but my husband needs his surgery first because of severe pain. I'm healthy and not in pain just overweight

melynie replied to Kellyk2511's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's supposed to help hair grow and strengthen nails. I've been reading a lot about after rny surgery your hair can start to fall out but I don't know if biotin actually works. -

My name is melynie and I'm new to this group. I'm 32 years old married with two daughters. My oldest is 13 and youngest is 2. I been struggling with my weight all my life. I've tried different diets and some worked while on diet pills but as soon as I stopped taking diet pills the weight came back with a little extra added. My highest weight have been 330 and that was being pregnant with my youngest daughter. I dropped 30 pounds some months after delivering. I had tons of fluid. I thought i wanted to have lap band but i dont think i can handle all of the vomiting, stuck food and slipped band everyone talks about. So im weighing my options right now. I'm still in my manditory 6 month weight management class. I graduate from class on feb 14th 2013. I've had my psych eval and my dietician appt. my insurance requires 2 dietician appts. So my last one is scheduled jan 23rd. I have a lot of support from all my fam and friends with which ever surgery I pick. Oh and I'm from Baltimore Maryland.

Can some answer a question for me
melynie replied to honeydue29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just found this out in my nutrition class today. She told us to read all labels and try to stay away from sugar alcohols. -
You can do it. I had to lose 29lbs when I started my 6 month weight management class. The classes are over feb 14th and I've lost 35lbs.
-
I was nervous about my psych eval also but he just asked me some questions about myself and my family. If I have a good support system. I answered everything and even though they said my appt would be about 2hrs it was only 40 mins.

I have one more dietician appt on jan 23rd and I finish classes on feb 14th. So everything else is all done

Hello! Welcome to the group. I'm new also. I should be having surgery in a couple of months. I don't have a date but just finishing up my insurance requirements, dietician appt, psych eval & 6 months of supervised diet program. Before my diet classes I weighed in at 295 and now I'm 259. Your wedding pics are beautiful and congrats on making the decision to get on the healthy track.

Hi! I'm new to this group also. I haven't had surgery yet but hopefully by march everything will be finished with insurance approval etc. How are you feeling? -
Oh and can anyone tell me how long is the hospital stay after surgery
-
Thanks Vicki! I really think that gastric bypass is the surgery for me and I can't wait to speak with my surgeon in January for my pre-surgical consult before surgery. I'm so excited. What did the pre-op diet consist of? I'm not sure if it's the same as the lap band diet in the beginning.
