FYI, sometimes after this surgery you become lactose intolerant. I cant mix my shakes with milk or I get sick.

I was put on nexium for 6 months and warned not to miss one dose. I am still on full liquids but see the nut tomorrow and hopefully can move to the next stage. The last few days I have been feeling the liquid go down which is strange as this had gone away. Smaller sips. I am ready to be off the liquids as I am not meeting my goal with the protiens or water. Still a little sore in one place, went back to work full time Monday. Smoothie king has a smoothie that was on my "approved" list. Been going there daily .this is my 5th week of liquids, pre-op and post op. down around 15 lbs,

Smoothie king is awesome. I can't drink the shakes if they have milk in them.

I also had surgery on the 20th. Down about 17 lbs, returned to work full time today. Still on full liquids, will find out Thursday when I can advance. Not getting enough Protein in. Worried bout my air falling out. Smells can make me sick. Over all I am feeling good.

Wow I am going back to work Thursday . I started full liquids today. That's amazing you went back to work so soon.

I also feel ever sip. I can't start full liquids until Monday. Still sore but getting my fluids in via decaf tea and broth. Water well I never liked water. I also have a hard time finding a good position to sleep in. Post op appointment said everything was good. Everyday gets easier.

Me either . My doctors office told me to start using a straw, been a big help. But the contrast has also caused me problems.

Ginger, Mine is Monday also. I have to be on clear fluids over the weekend. I am scared and nervous also. Good luck to you

I am on day 12 of my preop diet. I had to go off my oral meds and switch to a sliding scale. I also discovered that Splenda raises my blood sugar and my protien shakes has that in there.

My Cigna approval came 5 days after clinical notes were sent. Follow their rules. I start my preop diet Monday. Have my preop appointment tomorrow morning.

I had my last session with my NUT Monday. Found out they had submitted the preliminary paper work on the 15th. They submitted my clinical notes on the 23rd of April. Now the 5 day wait begins. Fingers crossed I get approved. Worried because most everything I have read Cigna is a nightmare. Excited, can't wait.

Approved. 5 days. Surgery may 20 (if my boss approves) start my diet Monday. Excited and scared at the same time.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Cigna. Still waiting. I called them yesterday and they said it was with the nurse for review and that something should be faxed to the doctor by Wednesday. We did follow all their guidelines. I even did a full 90 days with the NUT. I did not loose weight however. Fingers crossed.

I am 220, bmi around 37. Something, I am diabetic, high blood pressure, have back pain, lower and upper due to the "girls". No sleep apnea however. I hope to hear Monday or Tuesday . I have followed all of cigna's rules. Fingers crossed

Oh I am so glad you posted. My PCP used the same wording and I was worried. Have my last appointment. Monday and them they will submit. Fingers crossed for quick approval.
